Some of the reviews make it out to be a difficult climb. Never fear, it's broken up with a number of rest stops and photo opportunities.

We did it right on open 8AM and were the only people there. Beautiful.

We climbed up the hill on a Sunday which is rice growing festival and boat racing festival in LP. The hill is full of people, mainly local people, it's do nice seeing them climb up and enjoy the view and praying for festival as well, though a bit crowded, this is life!

However many steps it is to the top, on whichever side you choose to walk, it is arduous for the unfit! But well worth the effort! with amazing Buddha shrines to see (and his footprint), Mount Phousi (enough giggling at the pronunciation of pussy) offers amazing views 360 degrees of Luang Prabang. miss it if you dare!

Over 200 steps to the top. But once you're there the view across Luang Prabang is phenominal!

It's worth the leg ache definitely! :)
