“Amazing place to stay in Luang Prabang!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2013

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. We absolutely loved its charm and the service was great. It has a great location right on the Mekong river and makes for a pleasant stroll to restaurants, shops, and night markets. Will definitely return!

We weren't in the main bit which looked nice but in the annexe about fifty yards down the road. So we had to walk up the road to breakfast which is on the river side of the road outside. The room was ok, quite nice and authentic with a little balcony which was good and, a nice touch, a clothes horse so we could dry what we had rinsed through. The bed was enormous. No TV but who cares in such a lovely town. Quite an old fashioned place, one step up from a guest house, but clean and well run with very nice staff. Breakfast was scrambled eggs or omelette which they cooked for you and if you wanted toast they made it on a charcoal burner which was a nice touch. Coffee ok, juice not very good. Some fruit.

Very quaint hotel in a pretty spot! Close walking distance to the main
street, markets etc! Helpful & friendly staff! Loved the breakfast spot
next to the river! Quite a basic breakfast offered, however the location
makes up for that! Would stay here again!

Our travel agency had booked this hotel. When we got there we were told they had no more rooms available and send us to Xang Keo Guest House. It's just around the corner and I was told it's from the same group. Prices at Xang Keo are cheaper thought which leaves you thinking...
Xang Keo is in a very quiet location in the same street the monks pass by in the early hours. It has a very good location but no river front views. Rooms were clean.
The rooms themselves can be very noisy depending your the next door neighbor - the walls are paper thin and you can hear any small move (even when the person next door hangs the clothes or goes to the toilet).
Breakfast is average and it's a buffet. On the last morning when we went down for breakfast there was nothing set up. We were told apart from us there were only another couple and so they would be doing a la carte. Not a problem if the waiter understood English. They did not bring all we ordered and brought things we did not order.

Room Tip: Make sure you clarify with the hotel where you are staying, if the main Sala Prabang building or any...

This is one of my favourite places to stay in the Luang Prabang. Everytime I have stayed here I have felt well looked after. The staff go out of their way to make sure your needs are met and are extremely friendly. The location is in such a great position- right on the river and only 5 mins walk away from the main street. Breakfast is served overlooking the river and the only criticism of the hotel would be to have more variety in the buffet. The rooms are clean and lovely. A lovely little boutique hotel in Luang Prabang that I like going back to again and again.

Luang Prabang is a walking city and this hotel is well placed...a short walk to the palace museum, night market, wet market and Main Street. The hotel takes up small Mekong river fronting buildings, with 24/7 reception. Breakfast is open air, across the road, looking over the river. Very basic....toast is baguette cooked over an open coal fire...but picturesque with it. Rooms are also rustic and nice. Mattresses were soooo hard! Our toilet blocked intermittently. Our room had a balcony, where we could enjoy a restorative beer in the afternoon and watch the world go by....so we did!

Room Tip: Upstairs with a balcony

Very helpful staff here, and I would reccomend this place as the best bargain for your money. they helped me book boating fun trips on the mekong. i bartered for the price a bit and it worked! the place is soooo quiet from your bed, I was able to sleep until 1:00 in the afternoon, that felt so nice after my 30 hour bus ride!.. highly recomended and happy travels people!
