The various colonial buildings that make up Sala Prabang have been restored with careful attention to the past, but they reflect a clean and modern feel that is very comfortable today. Likewise the staff are well trained to care for today's world travelers. A favorite time of day is the buffet breakfast, with an omelet chef making eggs to your specification. The breakfast is particularly special because the patio overlooks the Mekong with its always interesting traffic. Coming from America, our three weeks in Luang Prabang was the highlight of three months in SE Asia and Australia. And during those three weeks, we never saw a hotel that was more appealing than Sala Prabang.

Room Tip: Be aware that there are several different buildings. After a few days in the Villa we moved to the Issada. We gave up the river view from room but gained a large balcony that served as an office for our long stay. Discuss your needs the management.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 3 nights during our visit to the wonderful town of Luang Prabang. Our room was very clean and located in the main building. It was very hot when we were there and the air conditioning was good, but could have been better. There is no swimming pool, but that doesn't seem to be the norm in Luang Prabang anyway.
The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The breakfast is served across the street, just above the river and a simply delightful setting. Not a large diverse selection for breakfast, but they made eggs and omelets to order. It would have been better if they served fresh juice, but the ambiance helped to make up for it.
We happened to arrive on the first day of the Laos New Year and the entire town was well into the festivities. This is their largest holiday of the year with all of the locals participating. Even though it was apparent that those working (in the hotels, restaurants.....) wanted to take part in this major holiday, the folks at this hotel were always available to assist us and ensure a pleasant stay. I am happy to recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Luang Prabang looking for a 3 - 4 star level hotel.

Room Tip: All of the rooms in the main building seem to be toward the back, away from the street. They were quiet and comfortable.

Stayed in this hotel and was happy with the location. Since it is part of the Unesco Heritage, it has no pool. You could arrange for taxi service to the airport. Perfect view of the river during brekky.

Room Tip: Rooms in the second floor are more private versus the ones in the first level.

Stayed in one smaller buildings on back street. Very quiet and comfortable, nice bathroom. Good lighting. Breakfast at riverside patio Good varietywas excellent, possible to have eggs several ways other than scrambled! Lot's of good fruit.

Room Tip: There are multiple buildings, perhaps best to go to one of the small ones on the back street where we were.

Mr. Souris and his team do a great job to make your stay that much better and the customer service experience reflects this. In addition, the clean and comfortable rooms are beautiful and set in an old building that has been nicely renovated. The location on the Mekong and within the city is very convenient.

Luang Prabang is a jewel of a city and Sala Prabang made the experience that much more unforgettable.
