“Must have seen glorious days”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

Spent a day and a night.
The hotel must have seen glorious days in the past, it showed in the charming decor and furniture.
The layout of the hotel reminded me of Californian hotels and its wordly charm.
The staffs were courteous and helpful. being fasting days of Ramadan, could not taste the food, but, the restaurants looked inviting.
The rooms were quite neatly laid out, comfortable and cozy enough. The bathrooms could have used an upgrade to look a bit closer to todays time.
I will recommend this for anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, neat and clean place to stay in the heart of Jeddah.
Location is the best USP for Sands, positioned behind Tahliya area, known as Rodeo drive of Jeddah.

Room Tip: Nothing special.

Used to be 4 Star but now 3. A well placed, clean , comfortable hotel but in need of refurbishment. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel just needs repainting and updating. Check out time is 3pm which means you can have a leisurely lunch first. Transport can be arranged to collect you or take you to the airport at very reasonable rates. The restaurant is Lebanese and the lunchtime buffet is very popular.
Rooms are spacious & quiet apart from the air-conditioning.
Lots of places to eat nearby and there is an excellent patisserie Paul just around the side of the hotel, which has good coffee, pastries and light meals alternatively the Sands has its own Arabic fast food restaurant a few steps from the hotel entrance, with the best shalwar a in Jeddah.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are quieter.

Very clean, older hotel, excellent for a couple of days long business trip.
Good stable Internet service, attentive staff.
In a great location near internationally known as well local shops and restaurants. This will my go-to hotel whenever in Jeddah, a now regular business stop.

Worst hotel I've ever seen... Worst then even some Govt. Managed bunglows in far remote areas...
I've been there on 8th Oct.12.
My initial booking was for 14 days hace Checked out in 1 day only.
Good things : Location & Lobby.
Bad things :
- Room is very much old fashioned and not maintained at all. What you will think when in some ★★★ Hotel (soo called) u'll find that toilets are having problem of water logging and room service guys come and guide u that.. This ia a common thing in such toilets & u just need to be patience and to flush the water only 4 - 5 time... (I felt like I've just born yesterday only).
Anyways... thn you got to see another room also to check if you can shift there... But notice the same prblm again :-(
- room smells like no one stayed there from at least from over a month time... But thn u realise that the same kind of smell is in the lobby outside the rooms also.
- A/c's noise will make u realise that u came to this city to work and not to sleep...
- Last but not least... Even when u cancel ur 14 days booking just in 1day... No one cares to ask the reason of tht...
Overall a very bad experiance... Will not want to stay there even in dreams.
Suggestion if it can reach to Hotel management :
"Guys u've got a great location and gud enough space in the heart of city... Just try to be with trend and b concern about the basic requirents of guests... U can lead the hotel business in city".

Hotel is located in heart of the Jeddah. Many attractions are just a walk from the hotel. Food is good, mainly Lebanese. Interior is not old but not too much old. Stayed there for one night on business trip. It worth the money.

This Hotel is one of the oldest in Jeddah , Located in the heart of Tahlya Street which is the Heart of Jeddah , it contains all the fancy & Reguler Shops . Great Restaurants and much more .

The hotel itself has one of the best fastfood restaurants in Jeddah , (Sands Restaurant) it makes the best sandwiches ever . a deli shop and the Amazing and famous Paul Cafe .

Despite being old , the hotel's staff is Good , very friendly , helpful , I didn't like the mai restaurant as it's very very old decorated , and during the breakfast buffet there was only 1 or 2 waiters to help .

The room is good but a little expensive as we got a twin room for 750 SAR a night which is almost 250$ .

The laundry service is fast and cheap but only operates from 8am to 6pm

I think what makes it good is the location and the hotel itself feels cosy .

Room Tip: Try The newly renovated Rooms
