“The reception area is nice...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

It lulls you in with a false sense of niceness. The reception area is nice with leather sofas and stone floors. The rest of the building is another story unfortunately. The rooms are big but that is probably the only positive thing.

The bed is hard, The room is noisy - Thursday and Friday nights are particularly bad as wedding parties occupy the second floor and this resonates throughout the hotel. The dividing doors between rooms do not isolate the noise from adjacent rooms. The wifi is slow and patchy. The furniture looks like it has been acquired from a garage sale. The breakfast is disappointing. The staff are uninterested with fixing problems with rooms or the wifi. They insist you cannot move rooms as the hotel is full but you only see a few people milling around. There is a kettle in the room but no tea and coffee supplied. There is little space to put a car.

The dinner buffet is reasonable and reasonably priced and the mini-bar is well stocked with drinks and also fairly priced.

Room Tip: Stay on the corniche. The hotels are more expensive and the traffic is bad but its worth it

It was a bad experience from the check-in time. The one at reception declined to provide the room for one of us saying that the booking is only for one guest. Then I had to show him the confirmation for 2 rooms.

The one reception came out with an offer of upgrade to a suit facility with two rooms and later on we found that the offer was a cheating. One of the rooms within the suit had no attached toilet. We failed to get a change of room eventhough tried till midnight!!!!

The staff are not all friendly and and not useful too.

We stayed only two nights and found the nights were not disturbing than the day times. There were music and furniture movement on top so it was difficult to get a sleep.

Be careful while making a new booking or plan for a live night!!!!

Room Tip: No idea. May be a room at top will avoid sound of furniture movement

The room was clean but that it the only good thing I can find to say about this hotel. The restaurant food was awful tough meat, overdone vegetables, no fresh fruit, no fresh juices...and this in a country noted for its food. The wifi was all but useless in the rooms and on my second day there it packed in altogether. The reception staff knew of the problem but seemed totally disinterested in solving it. The guy on the reception desk at night seemed more interested in chatting to his friends than answering the phone to his guests necessitating a trip down from the fourth floor. This is not really a hotel it is what is called a "wedding palace" in Saudi Arabia. My guess is that it makes its real money from the very noisy wedding parties it holds every night. I am not a light sleeper but they successfully kept me awake. There has been little or no investment evident in this place for years, the rooms still have the "through-the-wall' type air-conditioning units which just add to the noise level. This place has nothing to recommend it, save yourself the angst and stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Choose a good room in ANOTHER HOTEL far from this one!

I've been staying here for over 2months and I wouldn't recommend anyone this noisy hotel. Every night there are parties or wedding or whatever that won't let you fall asleep until 3-4 in the morning. Don't let yourself fooled by the guy on the reception saying he'll change your room next day, it won't happen!
And the internet is working only a few hours a day at an incredible LOW SPEED!!!

AVOID AT ANY COSTS

Room Tip: There is no such thing, all the rooms are VERY noisy!

The worst hotel I've ever been. Wedding parties every night until 4am. It is impossible to sleep. Do not advise anyone
