Positives: really excellent food, and very helpful staff. But the place has clearly seen better days. Feels like there has been no refurbishment since it was originally built (1980s?), Wi-Fi varies between slow and non-existent, half the gym equipment doesn't work, bedroom could do with a fresh coat of paint, patio furniture grubby and scratched, etc..

since i work in saudi and due to the closed atmosphere i usually go for week ends in this resort, its comfortable with good rooms, staff is not that much friendly, the place contains swimming pool, gym, restaurant, most of the rooms have good view i belief its good place for being in saudi arabia

Room Tip: always chose pool view

Very good place to spend week. About 40 minutes north of the airport, and rather secluded. Steps from the red sea, there is a marina as well. Only a few restaurants and activities. Great place to let the kiddies splash in the sea.

Hotel condition and cleanliness not to bad. Hotel staff polite but not very forthcoming with information. Service was very slow with Saudi's regularly being served in front of you. When we arrived it was the school holidays and the hotel was full to bursting. The noise in and out of the hotel went on all night till 3 and 4 in the morning then the morning pray speakers just outside the hotel would start at 5 am. The roads around the hotel and in the street was like a race track something out of the Fast and Furious series of films with kids of all ages driving. When the school holidays ended the hotel became a ghost town with just a few guests. Service was still slow and the hotel was in sleep mode only the cafe dinner open for meals. The sports gym is not air conditioned and both treadmills are faulty as the belts slip, I asked the staff about this and got no reply. Maybe a good place for kids spring break but not for anything else as there is no restraint shown.

Room Tip: Try to be away from lifts and service laundry.

I dont understand why all the hate the view is breath taken the room was fairly clean the staff was friendly and caring. Men and women have more freedom no abayas required nor clothing limitation. You can confidently wear any swimsuit you like. The breakfas was very good. U can rent a jetski jetboat golfcar everything is available. U can see the photos and have an idea

Stayed here in Feb-March 2011. The place is deserted Saturday to Wednesday, and packed on Thursday and Friday. About 40 minutes north of the airport, and rather secluded. Steps from the red sea, there is a marina as well. Only a few restaurants and activities. Great place to let the kiddies splash in the sea.

if you want to have fun and swim in or out in the sea you can go to the Durrah but you have to check if it was new villa or not 'cause the new villas are the cleanest.
