Good Lebanese food but Lebanese food is simple, fresh, and inexpensive. We were not dealing with salmon, caviar and oysters. Also be aware they will charge for a Pellegrino bottle same as champagne in Paris.

Also smoking indoor allowed against city regulations. That completely told us that they are above the law to cater a high en crowd. It was not normal cigarettes but shisha smoking. Very third world, very disgusting.

The food was good but at $60.00 per person I have had better Lebanese food in Paris with wine. Fortunately I travel often to Beirut so no need to visit this "gold" trap again.

The traditional advantage of Byblos was that it was pretty much the only place in town that publicly played music, as far as I know. As the kingdom is slowly but surely opening up more and more that doesn't mean that much anymore and people notice that the atmosphere isn't totally making up for the ok food.

Come here if you like, you won't regret it, but it might be worth a try just as well elsewhere ...
