Another attraction on the west side of Imam Square is Ali Qapu Palace. Its name means great gate because it was located exactly at the entrance to the Safavid palaces from Naqsh-e Jahan Square to the Chahar Baq Boulevard. Inside the monument is replete with naturalistic wall paintings of the court painter of Shah Abbas. There are flower, animal, and bird themes in his work. 18 columns of this monumental edifice are decorated with mirrors and the ceiling is covered with great paintings. Ali Qapu is definitely worth a visit.

One of the wonders in this building is its fascinating view. You can see two floors in one of the views of this building and in another view, you can see four floors and in behind of this old Iranian palace, six floors are displayed!

Gate of Ali. That palace was a residence for Shah Abbas I. Awesome architecture with impressive terrace and excellent music room on the upper floor.

sad that there was a lot of scafolding around the palace, but was told it had been undergoing restration for a long time. Still great views to be had from the top of the palace.
