Yes the bridge is nice!!! But without water it lost it's glory!!! We walked over to the other side,
sat on a bench and looked to the bridge with a sad young man sitting beside us!!!
Maybe it will change Iran and maybe there will be one day water again under this beautiful structure!!!

this bridge is amazing even without water .Specially at nights people gather under the bridge and sing!At nights you can see the reflection of lights in the stony line's eyes in both sides of the bridge.

The river does not have any water. The Isfahanis say that river exists only in winter months. Nonetheless, the historical bridges of Isfahan is a must-see attractions and Khajou bridge is the most beautiful of all.

Morning and Evening visits to this bridge and looking at it from some 50-100 meters away are both interesting and you will do nothing but appreciate this bridge. I've found inside of the bridge as fascinating too.

There western side of the bridge witnesses to the fact that it's both a bridge and water dam. You will find out how large panels were installed inside to block and raise the water. The pointed edges of the eastern side are designed to break apart the force of water at the flood times. the channels under the bridge are designed to let the current slow down and move away.

From aesthetic point of view, the virtual arched corridor from one end to the other end of under this bridge is an engineering masterpiece. The shade it provides is magnificent. the echo you get in the lower middle ide of the bridge attracts music lovers who sing usually late in the afternoon at this point.

BTW, don't forget to visit the tombs of professor Pope and his wife nearby (north east of the bridge), who have done a lot to introduce ancient Persia to the world.
