Having stayed at a few hotels in Dubai in recent years it was nice to find one that isn't near a construction site and therefore allows a relaxing stay. The sea-view rooms are great, the beds and the pillows are amazingly comfortable. The pool area is well designed with an adults only section and there is also a separate laps pool. The spa is highly recommened and the gym is extremely modern although possibly slightly on the small side although hotel guests can use the gym at the meridien mina-seyahi next door (an older hotel with the same owner despite being different brands).

If you're looking for a hotel on Jumeirah beach then I would throughly recommend this one.

We stayed at the Westin for 13night from 14th -28th July and had the most memorable holiday here yet and we felt we were treated like royalty. This is our third family holiday to this hotel and this trip was by far the best (see previous report July 09).

We arrived on an overnight flight arriving at the hotel shortly before 9am. There has clearly been some changes over the past year in particular around front desk staff attitude which was very pleasing to see. We were not due to check in until 3pm that day but we received a very warm welcome back from the front desk (Claudia) and were delighted our room was ready. Unfortunately there was a minor hitch in that the room we were shown to actually wasn’t but to be fair we were pleased we had somewhere to leave our cases and head for breakfast and pool. Within 30mins Claudia met us in the restaurant and advised us she was moving us and upgrading us to a Sea View Suite for our entire stay! (room 707) I can only describe our room as fabulous! Extremely well presented and equipped with 42” plasmas in both the lounge (+ Bose surround sound) and bedroom. Comfortable furnishings and the lounge sofa converted to a bed for our daughter. The bathroom was huge his and her sinks equipped with the usual amenities hairdryer, shower gel, toothpaste, brush nail and tweezer set and plenty of towels, bathrobes and slippers. Our bedroom and adjoining dressing room was equally well equipped with tea and coffee facilities stocked mini bar (which we asked to be emptied and stocked with our own!) and a safe in the dressing room wardrobe. There was also a wc at the entrance to the room.

We were on a full board basis which was fantastic and gave you access to the Blue Orange restaurant. Choice extensive to suit all tastes and although dining there each mealtime, choice of food varied daily and between lunch and dinner. Friday Brunch (which on this occasion did not sample) was served in Blue Orange so on each Friday guests could use the’ Wave’ restaurant in the sister Le Meridien hotel. We did this on both Fridays we were there and the food was plentiful and equally outstanding as the Westins. One new addition this year was the introduction of the ‘Children’s Buffet’ fantastic idea for kids both big and small. If I was to offer one criticism about the restaurant, in particular the breakfast service, service can be slow and at times your struggle to get refills for beverages. This is not new and we have experience this on previously trips.

Unfortunately, my husband took ill for 3 days at the beginning of our stay but once better, commented that out of the many places in the world we have travelled, this was the best place to be ill!!!! – Perhaps a strange saying but says it all!

The care and attention was second to none. From housekeeping (a very special thank you to Tommy) who was extremely helpful and left us some lovely towel animals to cheer our daughter up, to special attention and genuine concern from the front desk and even restaurant manager (Tony) was very welcomed. The Westin has a nurse on call 24 hours a day who within 5 minutes of speaking to the front desk visited my husband.

I visited the Spa on a couple of occasions and used the hot tub, sauna etc (free to guests). I did not sample any treatments. Each room has a price list and treatments seem to be readily available. The gym adjacent to the spa looked well equipped with views across the palm.

Like our last visit the Westin Kids Club remains a wonderful and action packed place for children from 4-12yrs to attend. Everything from art and craft, football water sports, and of course the ice-cream trips, made it an enjoyable and safe place for children. The staff are extremely professional and attentive so special thanks to Sam and his team yet again for their efforts.

As many other reviews state, the grounds and extensive and very comfortable. Waiter service at the pool was relatively efficient drinks prices on par with other 5 star resorts in the area. Towels are provided daily and staff are attentive in regularly bringing cold towels, slush and ice cold spray bottles round in the peak temperatures of the day. From our previously trip this service has far improved and more regular that previous experience.

All in all a very big thank you to you making this a memorable time. We are fortunate enough to be returning to Dubai for 2 weeks again in October but unfortunately we will not be staying at Westin I am sure however we will return in the not too distant future.

Super hotel. Great faciltiies, super pools, on the beach, first class service.
Expensive......but you get what you pay for. Buffet food was excellent, really first class for a buffet and everyone was super helpful with our 1 year old. Child pack in the room on arrival (plug covers, toy, night light, etc).
The only downside was the building work all around Dubai, but you can't get away from that.
Excellent night club/bar on site.

A 3 night stay on business. Hotel about 30 mins in a taxi from airport costing around AED 65.

Room
Upgraded to a very comfortable and beautifully appointed suite which I found myself rattling around in. I have stayed in bedrooms not much bigger than the bathroom alone! The bed was exceptionally comfortable. 2 TVs, coffee machine, complementary bottled water.

When I was in Dubai it was 45 degrees C outside but the whole hotel was beautifully cool.

Bar/ restaurant
Breakfast & dinner in the Blue Orange buffet: Extensive, high quality and beauifully presented choice of world foods.
Lunch: Lobby bar & pool side restaurant - average.

Business Centre
A good few computers but printing expensive

Leisure facilities
Beautiful grounds. Lovely chilled swimming pool (as the sea was as warm as bath water)

Would stay again on business or for leisure.
