It was amazing, our best holiday yet. we stayed on the 18th floor facing the palm. The view was just out of this world.
With the food , we wdere spoilt for choice and the staff were just faultless, even though it was a very busy hotel.
The kids loved it and I struggled to step out of the hotel to go explore Dubai because the hotel has everything.
having said that it's very expensive ( but that appears to be Dubai on the whole)
We will definately go back again.

This is the 2nd time i have stayed at the Atlantis. The service is excellent , the standard of rooms very high ( received complimentary upgrade- always nice), the hotel and grounds are kept spotless. The aqua park was good fun and very safe - lots of life guards. The staff are really friendly and always polite - no surly waiters here!! Had a half board package otherwise would be very expensive - again the standard of food and service was very good.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the palm have the most intresting view especially high up ( was on 19th Floor)

We spent 2 nights at the Atlantis, on the way back from Thailand (where we had been spoiled at both the Bangkok Pullman, and especially at the Centara Grand Mirage, Pattaya)

After all I had read, and watched on You tube about the Atlantis, I was really excited to be staying there.

However, I found that after the hype is peeled away, you are left with a very noisy, expensive hotel, which does not offer very good service.

The lobby, and the rest of the hotel is very grand, but I have to say I was slightly under whelmed.

Our room was spacious but average. It had a "damp" smell.
Two double beds, Excellent walk in shower with rain head, separate toilet, and deep bath opening out into the room via sliding doors. Tiny balcony –, about a foot wide - more a Juliet, with a view of the pool below
The mini bar prices were unreal. £5.00 for a small bottle of fruit juice, and the miniatures were approx £8.00 each!
Thankfully we had our own vodka, but had no choice but to purchase the fruit juice, as there is no where nearby to buy any and so avoid the mini bar prices.
The hotel advertises free internet. This is old dial up speed. If you require fast speed, there is a hefty charge.

The pool areas are very noisy, with loads of very excited children. Whilst we were there, the “Royal pool” had to be evacuated and closed for about an hour, due to the fact that some child had defecated in the pool. Not the hotel’s fault I agree, but I was disappointed that there were no “Child free” areas, where one could escape the noise.

Our first evening there, we dined at the “Saffron” restaurant.
This is an all you can eat buffet style restaurant.
The food here was very impressive, and there were many counters serving varieties to suit all tastes.
However, the experience was totally spoiled by lots of very noisy children, literally running around wild, and seemingly unsupervised.
The dessert counter was the worst area for this.
I wondered where the parents of these children were, or if indeed they cared how there children were behaving.
I did not expect this from the Atlantis.

The aquarium and Lost Chambers area are stunning, and good for taking fabulous photos, as are most of the hotel areas

The Hotel’s water park is very good. Probably one of the best I have been to.
It has the best Lazy River I have ever been on, with rapids, and a wave machine, very exciting and lots of fun. The water slides are also excellent.

On our second night, we dined at the French restaurant “Rostang”.
I’m sorry to report that this was not a good experience.
The service was extremely slow, and most of the food was not up to the standard expected.
The chicken dish was very plain. My friend remarked that he had experienced better and more succulent chicken from ASDA.
The muscles came in a “sauce” another friend described as “Dishwater”. Probably the worst he had ever had.
The Profiteroles were stale,

Although, my French Onion soup, duck, and dessert cakes were lovely.

Another friend waited ages for Crepe Suzette.
It arrived after the rest of the party had finished dessert - Stone cold.
We observed it sitting on a trolley for 20 minutes before being brought over (after we complained about the delay).
The fastest service we received was when we asked for the bill. It arrived straight away.
We left, very disappointed, dismayed and somewhat annoyed, as this was not a cheap meal!

We were at the Atlantis during Ramadan, so the nightclub was closed.

The heat in Dubai is unreal.
Doing anything other than sitting in a swimming pool or water park is exhausting, even when it gets dark.
How this place with its intense heat is regarded as a fantastic holiday resort beats me!

We had just spent 8 nights in the Grande Mirage, Pattaya Thailand, and I have to say that this hotel was far superior in every way (see my review).

To reiterate, I was very disappointed with the Atlantis, as I expected so much more.
I found it very noisy, expensive, and very hyped up.

Visited during Easter break for one week with my family (5 adults and 2 kids).
The kids loved it: the waterpark, the aquarium, the beach, the activities and the food.
We loved the rooms, the restaurant, the setting and the attentions of the staff. We enjoyed the waterpark very much and we would certainly consider going back.
The only cons is the location. The setting on The Palm is amazing but far from downtown Dubai.

Good points: The hotel is grand and the public areas lux. Rooms are comfortable and pleasant. Bathrooms are big and have a window opening to the bedroom. Some entrances are included in room rate.
Minus points: Beach isn't great the sand is sharp and pokey. It doesn't face the ocean, just the monorail and palm villas. If you want a beach holiday stay at one of the proper beach hotels like Jumeirah Beach. Pools is a bit dark in the evening esp since you need to wait for the sun to go down a bit in summer to use the facilities.
Restaurant prices are very high. Needs more a la carte at reasonable prices.
The pillows were too soft and the sheets didn't smell that nice.
Overall it's pricey and the beach isn't great but it the hotel is nice.

We arrived after a night flight with BA and the hotel wanted to charge us 7 x the price of a cab for a lift in the hotel car - we don't mind paying but HATE being ripped off. So we got a taxi (40 mins and only £17).
The hotel itself is truly amazing and beautiful but having paid £2500 for 5nights we expected more.
Check in was a nightmare - nearly an hour and we were near the front of the queue. We checked into our room (supposedly superior) and were instantly disappointed. The room had no balcony and was at the front of the hotel overlooking the car park and the roof of the building below.
We asked to move and it was accomodated but only after 2 hrs and 7 calls later. During this time our case was in the new room but we were not told which room it was. Needless to say the new room was amazing. Great view and facilities.
The staff seem to know the word 'sorry' and 'i apologise' which we heard a great deal.
The service is simply terrible. Leaning over at meal times, serving from both sides, leaning bottles on top of glasses when pouring, not pouring and having to pour yourseld, food coming out cold and when sent back same food returned to the table (unfortunately my husband work in the food industry and knows the ins and outs of temperatures and bacteria etc. - so we had a nice little showdown) - the result a free bottle of Vittel. Drinks were forgotten, food coming out seperately, tables half cleared and to be honest the only decent restaurant out of 8 we dined in was Locatelli - small menu but great food and great value.
Alcohol is expensive which you expect in an Arab country and I don't mind paying for good quality wine but refuse to pay £9 for a 125ml glass of wine that tastes like paint stripper.
Breakfast was great and the food choice fantastic but at £27 a head you expect that. Once again service let the hotel down. Cold coffee, slow coffee, queuing for 30mins to sit down and being pestered to fill out your room number and sign your check.
The pool is lovely and clean, lots of children though.
Waterpark great and very safe, toilets very sparse and lots of people 'peeing' in the water. You still need to queue to get into the park even when a guest. You have to battle with non-residents who flock to the hotel like there is an England football match.
SPA staff great and attentive but the SPA lets the hotel down - it is free so no complaints but just a sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Gym great and cool, modern equipment etc.
so all in all a fantastic time but honestly I would not rate the hotel as 5 star simply because of the terrible service. I don't think the staff mean to be rude I think they just lack training and understanding of the menu etc.
would we go back - yes at the drop of a hat but on a room only basis.

Room Tip: worth paying for imperial club room as you get free drinks, snacks etc throughout the day.

This hotel reminded me a lot of Eurodisney, which means a huge hotel where the staff are trying their best to please everyone but not always succeeding. Before going further I must say that I will be back here. It may not have been a stunning 5 star hotel experience, but the resort itself makes up for it. We really enjoyed our time at the beach and pool. Our very young child also had fun. The dolphins were a huge plus, as was the aquarium and water park. The food was so-so, their breakfast buffet in the morning was much like a zoo and packed with so many people. It was okay, but this is no Las Vegas buffet. The staff were friendly, if we wanted to go to another destination there was always a car and driver available with an infant car seat provided. Most of our requests went answered. We stayed in a suite that was much bigger than our expectations, and the balcony was just wonderful to have breakfast in the mornings and enjoy the view. The spa was very nice and we went often. I liked my stay here, although other travelers looking for a 5 star experience may be disappointed.
