“Not overly impressed!”

ARRIVAL
We booked an aiport transfer and picked up in a BMW 7series. The one way transfer cost 250dhs ($90). We took a city taxi when departing the hotel which cost only 70dhs ($25).

Hotel check in was quick and smooth, the Imperal Club was cross sold to us and we took it. We later took it off as we found Saffron to have buffet specials, which we hadn't been told about at check in. Overall, dining and this hotel whether it be breakfast lunch or dinner is SUPER expensive. It's actually cheaper to take a taxi and dine out.

POOL
The pool area is magnificant. The biggest pool i've ever been in. The water seems so fresh and always clean. Lots of sunbeds. Towels are provided, which are nice and large. Because of the size of the pool, it never seems too crowded. During Ramadan, the pool was open until midnight. The hotel gave out complimentary popsicles during the day. There were delicious.

ROOMS
Really basic rooms, nothing special. Stained carpet and couches. Vegas hotels and hotel rooms are MUCH more outstanding compared to Atlantis Dubai.

WATERPARK
Good fun. The tube rides land you in the lazy river, which is the greatest lazy river. You can stay in the lazy river and it will take you to all the rides. There are conveyor belts and passages that take you to rides, rapids, etc. so you never have to get out the tube and line up for a ride.

I would recommend going to the Karama Market if you'r interested in knock off purses, clothing, wallets, etc or souvenirs. Meena Bazar if you're interested in Indian clothing. Dubai Outlet Mall is too far and no real deals. Burjaman, Dubai Mail and Mall of the Emirates REALLY expensive. If you've seen malls in North America, they're the same.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel - there's a British Pub called Dhow and Anchor, this pub has 14 beers on draft, happy hour from 9:30-10:30 and the best fish and chips ever.

Coming to Atlantis Dubai...be prepared to spend LOTS of money. Every restaurant is expensive. Probably won't be back.

We stayed here for the first 2 days of our Honeymoon and we really enjoyed it. Staff worries about small stupid details that makes you feel extra pampered. Acuatic Park super fun no matter your age. Can't miss the ice cream shop inside the hotel. The hotel is worth every penny you pay for it.

We stayed at The Atlantis for 4 days as a stopover on our way to Thailand as part of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived we could tell it was top quality, yes it's big, brash and showy but we loved all that. The reception area with its huge glass sculpture and the huge aquarium you pass on the way to breakfast are very impressive. Our room was large and classy. Huge comfy bed and the room had the mod cons you need and a great big bathroom. We had the usual towel 'swans' on our bed that are customary for honeymooner's and also a nice touch was the chocolates and card on the second night. The daily free water and bowl of fruit in the room are also a nice touch. The hotel is huge, it took us the best part of 2 days to get around and get our bearings. Basically you do not have to leave this hotel if you didn't want to - it has everything. The food was outstanding. We ate breakfast in Saffron and Kaleidoscope which were both excellent, lunch in Kaleidoscope and The Shore (by the pool) and had one evening meal in Saffron which were all top quality and had amazing choice. It was a good job we only stayed for 4 nights as we would have put on about a stone in weight if we had stayed any longer. The pools are fab, lots of sunbeds, and the free entry to the waterpark is a great bonus. The beach is lovely too, lots of beds and beautiful white sand. The only disappointment was the skytrain in your view which is a bit of an eyesore but that's me being ultra picky. Yes, the drinks etc are expensive but what do you expect from a 5* resort? I would definitely recommend the half board option like we had as it is expensive to eat out in Dubai. All the staff we encountered were great and very helpful. We will most definitely return, we loved every minute of our stay.

On our route back home from the US we had a 2 day stop-over in Dubai , and decided to stay at the Atlantis resort .
it was our first time in Dubai and we first thought of getting a hotel car to collect us at the airport , but the quote for this +/-$100US seemed a bit steep , so we spoke to friends who told us to just take a normal taxi from outside the airport . This proved to be a great solution , it was very organized and we ended up paying around $15US for the ride!

Upon arrival we had some problems checking in-we were just finishing a huge adventure trip through the US and all hotel booking had been done by our travel agent beforehand and without any issues or problems throughout , but at the Atlantis they said the booking still needed our credit card details to deduct the stay. This was annoying because it had already been paid for by our agent , and we had booked a lot of extras as well , so it was a very expensive addition to the last leg of our trip . this ruined our initial joy of being at the Atlantis....( and crushed my shopping expedition.......)

We finally got to our room-after about 1hour of checking in , and i must say the rooms were stunning! we stayed in a de-luxe room , it was very delicate and also very spacious with 2 queen size beds and a desk area-plenty of space for the 4 of us . the Bathroom was very large and luxurious and the view was amazing . It was absolutely spotless and the cleaning staff went the extra mile by doing small but thoughtful things in the room-that made it feel special .
There was possibly more staff than guests-at least it felt like that in certain areas-but they were very polite and friendly and we felt well taken care of .
We ate -without a doubt-the best food on our entire trip-it really was outstanding quality , and the selection was unbelievable . Even the kids commented on the huge selection and the yummy foods.....

The Hotel is super tacky-but so totally over the top that you have to just go with it . Everything is spotless and super nice!we spent a day at the Waterpark and as it was in the middle of summer-VERY hot at over 45C! it got crowded by lunch time . but before that it was lovely and all the rides was great . again-I have never seen so much staff in my life-there must have been a life guard every 10m on every ride , but it was not annoying in any way . they were all cheerful and pleasant .

We also had booked the Dolphin adventure , and it really was spectacular . the kids absolutely loved it-we all did-and we will remember this for the rest of our lives .

I got concierge to organize me a taxi to take me into Dubai-its about a 10-15 min.ride-to go to the Emirates Mall . I went by myself , and being blonde and blue eyed I was worried about taking a taxi by my self , but this was totally rubbish , and everything was absolutely fine!Emirates Mall was a shoppers paradise and a must on any Dubai visit . it was cheap-had a huge amount of all kinds of great brands and stores and it was a great shopping experience . I had not booked a taxi back as i was unsure what time I would finish , but in the end I just walked out the nearest exit and there was taxis lined up and no problem getting home at all .

It was a very exciting 2 days ,and we would do the same stop over any time in the future when we are flying Emirates.

Here's the bottom line - you pay for quality. You can't buy a Range Rover for £20k so don't bother looking if you don't have the money. I booked a trip here for a special purpose, to propose, and it was the perfect venue to choose for so many reasons.

The place oozes quality from the moment you walk in. 30 mins from the airport, the check-in in the opulent lobby was pretty fast and the bags arrived at the room before us. The room was so great that I thought we'd been upgraded - we hadn't! Fabulous views over the palm with the Burj al Arab visible off in the distance to the left. The bath inbuilt as a subdivision between the rooms is a cool feature and the rain cloud style shower was a refreshing way to re-energise after a night flight and morning arrival.

We had 5 days there and split it across the pool, tennis courts, Aquaventure, the Spa and eating! For couples, it really is great. You have a massage, I'll play the tennis pro, you have a manicure, I'll swim in the sea. I can't stress the quality of everything, from the rooms to the pool areas, the manicured beaches to the most opulent spa I've ever seen, from the restaurants to the water park. You just can't fault the place.

Don't let your travel agent say that 'we will throw in tickets to Aquaventure for free' as they are free anyway for all guests!

Be prepared to spend some money though - eating isn't cheap. Honestly, budget around £100 per night for dinner. As I said, you pay for quality and we have five of the best meals we ever had. The cheaper Nasimi beach is great for a lunch (and has a cool beach party too) and the steakhouse is fab too. We had breakfast included, I'd recommend Rostang instead of Kaleidoscope as the former is much more intimate with a lovely terrace to sit on outside. Kaleidoscope is incredible in terms of the sheer amount of food on offer and worth looking at for sure!

All in all I spent about £3,000 on the trip (£6,000 with the ring!) and it was worth every penny for the memories and the quality. You only live once - just book it and treat that special person or family!

Room Tip: Ask for a 'palm' view to go as high up as possible. There are 100's of rooms so push fo...

My wife and I arrived at the hotel at 6am in the morning after an all night flight from the uk.. The reception we received was excellent. The checkin was very quick and they upgraded us too an Antlanis room, bearing in mind your not meant to be checked in til 14.00. The room was very spaceious with balcony and over looking the palm. Our cases were delivered within 5 minutes of us getting into the room. We took the half board option which i highly recommend as if you were to pay for all your meals during your stay it would cost a fortune. Food was always to a high standard and the service in all restarants we ate in was excellent. Water park enterance is included in the price for hotel guests and the park is great fun. We went everyday and had a ball. Life guards are all round the water park all day long. Hotel has its own private beech for guests with plenty of sun beds. Getting into the sea is like getting into a hot bath at home. Pool ares are great, again with lots of sun beds and towels for guests. Pool very clean with plenty of life guards around pool area. Alcohol prices at hotel alittle pricey, 9 pounds for a pint of beer, and 10 pounds for a cocktail!!! Hotel is amazing and clean and the only disapointment was when we were checking out, knowing we were heading home . Cant wait to get back again..

Atlantis is a good hotel, but not at all a five star one, as it claims to be.
The location is great, even a bit far from dubau mall or deira. Being at the top of the palm , you en joy a great view over the palm ( don't choose the sea view), dubai marina skyline and burj dubai.
For a family, the hotel is great. The waterpark is great and you have plenty if activities. The staff is watching carefully of the kids. They will love the giant aquarium and the dolphin (despite being very expensive).
The bedroom are not the level of public areas of the hotel. They are good but you could expect something more. For families, choosing a bedroom with 2 queen beds is the right choice, as the bedrooms are quite large.
The restaurants are expensive, but you can enjoy in a single place several excellent and well known restaurants of dubai (nobu, seafood restaurant, etc). Even the premium fastfood is excellent. Regarding the seafood restaurant, the place is great -specially if you book a table next to the giant aquarium-, the cuisine top notch, but the service was not at the level you would expect for such a high price (there was a lack of staff).
Staying at atlantis is definitaly a true experience of the flamboyant dubai.
