Had a great time at The Atlantis

First the 2 bad points - drinks are overly expensive and you can hear noise from neighboring rooms.

Apart from that, it's a grreat place to holiday!!

The food in all the restaurants is spot on, we found the food in Saffron to be not as nice or warm as Kaleidescope but it was still good with an amazing array of desserts!

Our favourite place to eat was The Edge located next to the Royal pool. With our half board dining voucher we were able to choose 3 courses each and found could never finish all 3 as the portions were huge! The pizza's were really nice, proper italian style and the chocolate cheescake was amazing!! We also received the best service in The Edge, the waiters were always checking if everything was ok and stopping to have a general chat with us between courses.

As others have already mentioned, the entire hotel is spotless, the staff work very hard to keep it that way, a real credit considering the sheer size of the premises!

We visited the lost chambers and enjoyed seeing the varies marine life.

We also went to the Aquaventure water park which i must say is excellent for kids and adults alike, I had a great time on the slides and lazy river.

Swimming pool was great, the water was always warm, loungers were available all day.

All in all and excellent hotel, if the price of beer was a bit cheaper, it would be perfect!

as it was our 1st anniversary the hotel provided free chocolates, that was a nice touch and really appreciated!

We have been to Dubai about 5 times now but we wanted to see what the fuss was all about this hotel. It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting; right on the far edge of the Jumeirah Palm but I found it so over the top though not quite as over the top as the Burj al Arab is. We usually stay at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, I have to say I find it excellent.

Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the Atlantis and the water park was great but once you have seen it, you've seen it and there is not a lot more going for it really. What alos lets it down is the uncompleted palm. Although the residences are completed the monorail route is still a building site, not a good look when you are approaching such a beautiful hotel.

Anyway we will be back in Dubai in Jan 2012 to try out the Ibn Battutu Gate hotel - as far as I know the first hotel in Dubai to offer an al-a-carte all inclusive option. I will let you all know how we get on.

They also know how to charge! £6 for 2 tiny cans of orange juice in the water park!!!

Room Tip: Depends on what you like but in my view the best rooms face down the pal towards the city, although...

We went for just a weekend getway and had a great time. The huge hotel experience isn't my favorite but with four young kids, having Aquaventure right there is a huge plus. The kids loved it and it was nice having the aquarium we could walk most every time we entered/ left our room so that just walking to the restaurant was a treat for all of us. We had a fantastic meal at the French restaurant there (one of the best services we've had - ever with four kids!). By day our room had a TERRIBLE view but it turned out we overlooked the top of the aquarium which was black during the day but lit up at night and we could see the sharks, rays and fish swimming by at night. That was a pleasant surprise. For such an elaborately decorated hotel, the rooms were surprisingly bland and boring. The beach faces towards Dubai instead of into the open ocean which surprised us a bit - at some of the other Dubai beach hotels, you can get more of the ocean wave experience. Overall a good experience but we're just not mega-hotel people and will stick with the Mina al Salam next time.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon last year in September 2010. It was one of the most amazing hotels I have ever seen. The drive up to this hotel was breathtaking, the location of this hotel at the end of one of this man made Palm Island is just amazing. (Tip: well worth taking a helicopter trip to take in exactly the shape of the Palm islands and the location of this hotel)

Our room was absolutely massive, the bathroom alone was easily bigger than any other hotel room we have ever stayed in. Even our balcony was so spacious and the views of Dubai were just fabulous, especially at night.
Our room and bathroom was very clean, and the bed was enormous.

The lobby are is amazing with the big crystal sculpture fountain, and from there down to the Lost Chambers is a must, it is very well designed, with a maze of underwater tunnels and halls, where you can see so much of the underwater life and some of the strangest and funniest looking fish. There is also a petting area where you can pet and touch some gentle types of the sealife creatures...things like small crabs, lobster, fish, etc.

The hotel's waterpark which is free for guests, was out of this world, the best waterpark I have been to.
We also did the dolphin interaction which was definitely worth doing, we had a great time with some great photos too.

Finally, I want to mention the staff here in Atlantis who were very friendly and so helpful. Everyone we met was just lovely.

As mentioned by one of the reviewers before me and I totally agree with them....
"DON'T READ OR TAKE ANY NOTICE OF ANY BAD REVIEWS - they will just spoil your anticipated holiday, just go and enjoy and i know you will not be disappointed."

Honestly I don't know why people put bad reviews on here about this hotel. It is truly one of the most amazing and breathtaking hotels...everything about it, the location, the sheer size, the interior designing, the waterpark, the staff, the food and restaurants, the Lost Chambers, I could go on all day... It is a fantastic hotel.

I'd highly recommend it.

I adore this hotel, nothing critical to say at all.

I loved the restaurants, the water park (amazing!) and the aquariums. Great for kids and adults alike.

Our room was fantastic with spectacular views over Dubai and the palm.

The beach was phenominal and the water was very warm. Every day at 4 at least 5 stingrays would swim near the shore and amoungst the swimmers, staff were very informative of the stingrays.

Well where to start....
Got a taxi from dubai straight to atlantis hotel - 100 aed, took approx 30/40 minutes - BARGAIN!!

From the minute we arrived our car door was opened - we was treated like royalty!!
We was whisked to reception and checked in immediately - we are on honeymoon (im laying on a lounger over looking the palm as i write this!!) using the free wifi.....sign up to skywards to get this deal :0)
We was asked if we was here for an occasion and because we are we was upgrated...west tower floor 8 - overlooking pool and palm.....fantastic!!!

Hotel staff: sooo polite, and this really is genuine greeting everyone morning noon and night - opening doors -people have said the hotel is so big it doesnt feel as personal, it really DOES!!

Reception area: yes it can be busy at times - it is the center of the hotel where thousands are coming and going - what do u expect? if u dont like it...it can be avoided!!!

Cleanliness: OUTSTANDING!! the dust doesnt even settle constantly dusting the floor, lights, cleaning windows!!

Room service/house keeping: fab....the room gets cleaned twice daily morning and evening for a refresher...

Additionals to rooms: not sure if this is just our room but would assume not- constant free bottles of water - there is a free ICE machine on each floor so saves the pennies (bring a bottle of squash)? good tip for families with kids!!
a bowl of fresh fruit...mints....chocolates....dressing gowns...beach bag...slippers....flip flops...tea coffee making facilities.

This hotel is amazing, plenty of spaces, great sea view and amazing facilities ( the aqua venture is a great place to spend unforgettable times) ... BUT to my surprise, I got a towel with a big whole in it, another one was nearly yellow instead of its original white color. The big surprise popped up later when I discovered that the pillows on the bed smelled awfully !!! I had to ask the room service to change them for me before I could sleep. I would have rated this hotel as Excellent , but sorrily the hygiene issue prevents me ;((
