“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Our experience of staying at the Atlantis was during Ramadan, therefore, not typical and not over crowded!
After having read some horror reviews on tripadvisor we were a little apprehensive. We needn't have worried - everything worked brilliantly for us! Check in was swift and efficient with our suitcases arriving in our room before us as we'd called in at the club lounge for drinks.
Clear information was given regarding opening times, meal vouchers etc at check in.
ALL staff we encountered were very polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Security was present in order to prevent day guests entering certain areas of the hotel - done in a discreet way and for the benefit of hotel guests.
Our room was spotless, large and well equipped. Bottled water in the room is complimentary - house keeping will provide as much as you need/want (small fridge in room). Plenty of toiletries provided and topped up daily also. Towels and bedding changed daily too. Nice little touches include slippers, bath robes, beach bag, fruit platter and chocolates.
The variety of food is endless! There is something for everyone, even the fussiest of eaters! You will not go hungry. You can expect a little queuing at times in the buffet restaurants but nothing major. Advisable to book if you don't want to queue!
We used the Imperial Club lounge for drinks and snacks. Alcohol was served between 8-10pm during Ramadan which suited us fine. Lovely cocktails, beers, wines and soft drinks served. We had particularly good service from NANDIKA (East tower) who remembered our drinks order and delivered prompt, friendly, discreet service. Thank you!
Taxi service to/from the airport is approx. 90 dirhams each way, takes approx. 30 mins.
We never had any problems at any time of the day getting a sunbed around the pool. Lots of shade and towels available too.
The waterpark is great fun, lots of rides, rivers, pools and sunbeds. We also done the Ray feeding - a brilliant experience with friendly staff.
The hotel is more a resort and it's busy. If you want small and select it's not for you. We had a fantastic stay and would love to go back. We would probably choose to visit during Ramadan again as we preferred it less busy. We enjoyed the location, the weather, the facilities, the food, the drinks, the service and the people :)
Our only 'negative' comment would be on the price of the drinks - expensive!
Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and upgrade to Imperial Club

Visited here for 4 days of Ramadan and 3 days of Eid. I would definitely advise that people visit during Ramadan - its much cheaper and not as busy. It made our holiday! The pool and beach were quiet and we didn't queue for any rides in the water park. Overall this was the most amazing holiday I've been on. The room was very spacious and comfortable; every restaurant we visited was lovely and the facilities were unbelievable! I'm shocked at the people on here complaining about service - the staff were wonderful and couldn't have done more for us!

This hotel met and exceeded all expectations. We shared a triple room in the East tower, with an ocean view. The facilities and resort were fantastic and as you would expect for a 5 star hotel and our room was large and spacious with a big bathroom. There is plenty to do to keep you occupied on the resort. The restaurants were impressive, in particular Yuan, the Chinese restaurant. However by far the thing that made our stay was the quality of the staff who were not just attentive and polite but very genuinely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always smiling. We also went during Ramadan, which I can highly recommend if you are not bothered about drinking alcohol in the daytime (was still available in the evenings) as this meant we got a great deal on the room and the resort was quiet, with no queues in the water park or competition for space around the two huge pools. Would definitely return again if I was back in Dubai.

We stayed at the Atlantis last December and were not disappointed. So many restaurants to choose from you never need to leave the place.. And even better if you go for the half board offer!
Highlights had to be the waterpark on site, Nasimi beach restaurant and bar - perfect for lazy afternoons in the sun, and the Nobu brunch on a Friday! Yes it was not cheap but that can be said for Dubai in general. It may not have the air of a luxurious palace that some of the other hotels offer and the rooms are fairly basic but from a practical perspective if you want a break at a hotel with five star standards and enough entertainment and variety not to get bored after a few days then this is the place.
We went with our six month old and the staff at the Atlantis went out of their way to be helpful to make it an enjoyable stress free stay. Notable thanks to Iftikar in the Imperial club lounge who was just an amazing host! The club lounge was fantastic offering breakfast, afternoon tea, and nibbles and drinks in the evening! Can't wait to go back!

Stayed here with my family and had a great time. The water park and the aquarium were awesome. Dolphin ride for my daughter ("Dolphin Adventure") was a highlight of our trip so far. Lots to do and a great breakfast buffet. This place is HUGE and it is a long walk to some of the restaurants and a really long walk to and from the water park (although they have frequent golf carts passing by to give you a lift). Check in or any business at reception was a minimum wait of 10 minutes to get through the line. We had two kids with us and were offered a king bed room for an early check in (which I really appreciated). I could have sworn they told us there was a sofa in the room but when we got to the room there was only the king bed and a chair - for four of us. I went back downstairs to ask for another room or extra beds and, after waiting 10 minutes in line, was assured that one extra bed was big enough for two children. Housekeeping brought the bed to the room quickly and it was a single. The housekeeper was VERY helpful and immediately brought another bed, made them up, brought extra towels and generally took great care of us. Room was very clean and comfortable. My only real complaint is that we had to pay about $24 USD per day for WiFi - we have been traveling for about two months, and with the exception of a cruise, have not had to pay for WiFi at any place we stayed. The room was not inexpensive and paying for WiFi was a bit irritating. The staff were very very nice and helpful. The palm view rooms don't really give a view of anything that looks like a palm, just a fair amont of construction (like just about everywhere in Dubai). The beach is only okay. Pool was great - cooled but not too cold and huge. If you get the refillable drink cup from the water park, you can also refill it for $2 USD at TBJ (The Burger Joint) near the East Tower. Free bottles of water in the room which was much appreciated. Lots of security - couldn't decide if this was a good thing or if I had something to worry about. Stay in the East Tower if you can - it's closest to the water park, shops and the aquarium. Lots of great restaurants - Saffron dinner buffet was amazing. Would stay here again.

This is the best hotel in Dubai. We loved it , it's that big 3 days wasn't enough to see everything. Every little thing was spotless, i cant fault it-even tho I'm picky as i have experience in hospitality.
Even we were there in October it was still hot, but not unbearable.

Stayed here for 9 nights in an imperial club room. Rooms although kept clean could do with some updating. Spent one of my evenings banging on the spa shower door to be let out after getting locked in due to a faulty lock. To then just have the spa staff laughing at the fact i'm chlostraphobic and had been in a panicking state. I then went on to have a large sun carasoul come out of its base and land on my head whilst lying by the pool. Apart from having to shout out for assistance to get it off me I was not offered any medical assistance and again the situation was laughed off by staff. I spent 2 days in bed because of this with migraines and sickness. The management could not be less apologetic or helpful when complaining about these matters....Not what is expected from a 5* hotel. Some of the staff here are lovely and couldn't be more helpful but the majority are rude and couldn't be less helpful when trying to book experiences or ask for directions or recommendations. Overall I would not recommend this hotel and will only be going back for a day trip to the dolphin bay. Been to far nicer and friendlier hotels in Dubai being Burj al arab, Jumeirah beach and Kempinski ajman
