This was our third visit to the Atlantis, and we are never dissapointed.
The service is amazing, the staff are extremely attentive and very friendly. Our room was beautiful and always cleaned to a high standard. Saffron is our favourite restaurant, plenty of choice for everyone and a huge chocolate fountain which would please any child.
The drinks are expensive but that is only to be expected in Dubai.
We shall definately be returning asap.

It is located at the topof the man-made palm island. It's only half hour ride by taxi from the airport. The roads are nice and certainly there are no bumpy rides anywhere. Although you can see a lot of constructions going on, the city appears clean & tidy. The sky was a bit misty when we were there, well dubai is a desert area.

The aquacenter was excellent and free for hotel guests and normal entry fee for an adult is 200 dirham. We did all the rides there except we didn't have the nerve to try to "leap of faith". For the ziggurat rides, kids need to be at least 120 cm tall and this rule is strictly enforced. But my son was really was scared after trying the level 2 ride,

The towels are free for hotel guests at the aquacenter. Remember to bring plenty of water to drink. You can also go to private beach but we tried it once, we went straight back to the Royal Pool. The sea water seemed quite salty and water was really warm.

The morning buffet in Kaleidoscope is good with plenty of choices. It's 150 dirhams for adults and 100 for kids.

They have free hotel shuttle buses to Dubai Mall, Emirates Mall and Outlet Mall. They are usually quite crowded. We tend to take taxi more often.

There is a ice dispensing machine on each floor. The in-room internet and wi-fi are not cheap, about 40-50 dirhams per hour.

There is free wi-fi in most major shopping malls.

Stayed here for five days of a ten day holiday (1st five days at The Address Downtown Dubai, brill) celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Agree with other reviewers about it being a grand hotel, however, it was not to our liking. The Hotel is too big, busy and brash. We stayed in an Imperial Club room which gave us access to the club lounge, not a patch on the Address. On the day of our anniversary we received no acknowledgement at all, but on the following day a porter arrived at our door with a lovely chocolate cake emblazoned with 'Happy Birthday', I explained that it wasn't my Birthday but in fact our 30th Wedding Anniversary, he shrugged his shoulders and handed the cake over. My wife was not amused. We attended the club lounge desk and voiced our opinions and advised them that we were going for a walk and requested they remove the offending 'gesture'. They offered an alternative cake but this was refused as the 'gesture' had been ruined. Half hour later we returned to our room to find the cake still in situ. This was promptly deposited on the reception counter with a few disgruntled words. Five minutes later we received a phone call from the Guest Services Manager who apologised profusely, he offered us a complimentary meal and beverages in one of the Hotel Restaurants which we agreed to. (Which I compliment the Hotel for). On the day of check-out we were approached by the Director of Dubai Guest Services who was very apologetic for the mix up and hoped it didn't ruin our holiday (nice touch). Overall we enjoyed our stay and are glad that we have experienced 'Atlantis The Palm'. I'm sure many people love this establishment but as mentioned before, not our cup of tea. Don't let this review put you of, it is something that you have to try and judge yourself.

Sadly our first impression was such a bad one... the toilet area had such a strong smell of urine we could not possibly put up with it, after informing reception we eventually got a room on a lower floor but were advised we should be able to change this the following day back to a higher floor... as we arrived around 1am quite tired it was 3.15am before we got room sorted, so as you would imagine not the best of starts. Anyway things improved greatly and the staff were very sorry for this and even sent a fantastic cake and a bottle of wine to our room, and even telephoned us many times throughout the week ensuring all was well. I usually stay at JBH or Dar al Masyaf so maybe my expectations were just too high as Atlantis just did not meet a 5* standards in my opinion. Improvement needed as most people visit dubai with high expectations.. The wow factor of Atlantis is magic, but this alone will not bring repeat guests.Anthony and Lowella from the night duty deserve a special thank you for their hospitality also Kathryn who looked after our check in was really very nice. Overall good but not great, i will not return.

The hotel is impressively grand on the exterior but basic room fittings are quite average. We booked a package which included entrance to the waterpark so we didn't spend much time in the room as there were many restaurants and lounges to explore around the hotel compound. The most impressive feature of the hotel was the enormous aquarium similar to that in the Dubai Mall. The hotel has a gym overlooking the sea and a spa which was popular with guests. After a fun day at the busy waterpark, it's relaxing to watch the sunset from the hotel's 1km long private beach. During our stay, the rooms were fully booked and checking in and out took time. Parking wasn't cheap at AED150 per stay.

I have just stayed at The Atlantis Hotel and can truly say that the hotel and its facilities are fabulous. The rooms are large, airy, and overlook either the sea or the aquaventure park and beach. The beach is private with white sand and turquoise sea - absolutely idyllic - and has the most fabulous views of the Dubai skyline. For those with children and teenagers then the aquaventure park is an absolute must - great fun and seems very safe with trained lifeguards every 25 yards or so. The hotel's large aquarium is out of this world and will enchant and delight you each time you walk past. As expected the drinks are quite expensive but the food in many restaurants seems reasonably priced. One area to watch out for is the complimentary trays in the rooms; some items on the trays are not complimentary and whilst tea/coffee/water is free of charge, snack items such as biscuits are not !

Trips to consider are: afternoon tea in the Burj Al Arab - the service is first class and the views are a must; from the sky view bar you can see 'the world', the palm and all across Dubai - absolutely breathtaking; an evening showboat trip on the creek (Dhow boat) is relaxing and interesting as you can see a different side to Dubai at night. For those of you who are brave souls, then a trip to the various souks may be of interest but be prepared to be slightly hassled by various traders; my friend and I visited the gold and silver souk and to do this we crossed the creek by Abra (small wooden boat) - this is interesting and quite relaxing but do hold on when the Abra arrives at the other side as it may bump into the dockside slightly! Also be aware that if you are planning to do any sightseeing then this is best done on any day except Friday when most places remain closed until about 4 pm. Taxis are relatively cheap and if you are staying at The Atlantis then they are one of the main ways of getting off The Palm with the exception of free shuttle buses which run to the various malls during the day and The Big Bus Tour which is a large double decker bus on which you can purchase a 24 hour or 48 hour ticket which allows you to hop on and off at various points in Dubai - this is likely to be worth doing if you are staying 3-5 days and would like to see both the new city and the old town.

All in all, Dubai is a place of contrasts. The Atlantis can be compared to a large Las Vegas Hotel with fantastic facilities and great service.
