We went to celebrate my partners 30th as a three day stop over as part of a trip to Sandalwood in Koh Samui in Thailand (next review to write). The moment you arrive to the moment you leave it is a fantastic experience. I would say we stayed half board and the only thing I would say is that if you were paying for meals then it is quite pricey so HB is a much better option imho. The pools are great, the water park is very good indeed (been to the Florida and Aussie versions so know a decent water park when i see one) it's not huge but is certainly a good day out and as included in the room it was nice to have the option of a lazy river when ever the mood took you :) The food is something else, stunning I would say. You will never be at a loss what to have, the buffet restaurants offer amazing variety from Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Middle Eastern. Italian etc etc all very nice and very fresh. The one negative is the price of drinks and food (if not HB I would have been a bit dissapointed and much poorer) do yourself a favour and grab a bottle of gin (or whatever) from the excellent shop at the airport, bombay saphire 1ltr £12!! and have a drink in your room if you so wish

The rooms are fantastic, we were meeting some friends out there and they had a suite, that was very nice as well but the basic room is amazing in it's own right, our bath had sliding doors so you could have a view of the skyline/beach from your bath!! The gym is excellent and the instructors took the time to talk to you and even offer some advice during work outs. The rooms and whole hotel were spotless, the staff were exceptionally professional and polite I really can't say enough nice things about it, book it you won't be dissapointed

Quick tip, if you are travelling with Emirates, join their loyalty card called skywards and you get free internet access from your room, normally chargable!

We ummed and ahhhhed about staying at Atlantis due to the price but so glad we did as it was worth every cent! Very luxurious and everything is so grand and oppulent, a whole other world. We walked around in awe for 2 days. The Aquairum was fantastic as was the Lost Chambers, could look in amazement for hours. The waterpark was really enjoyable, breakfast was like nothing you've ever seen, the rooms were beautiful. We loved everything about Atlantis Dubai. Take the plunge and stay here, you won't be dissapointed!

Everything was first class. The Buffet even had gluten free cereals if you are or live with a person with coeliac you will know what a difference this can make to a holiday and how difficult it is to come by. Dress code is much what you would wear in a nice hotel anywhere. Got a deal through Emirates and it was amazing value. Happy hours at different venues throughout the day/night.

We had the opportunity of a four day, three night stay in Dubai.
With small children and very little family time otherwise, we knew we wanted the minimum of distracting issues and maximum attention to detail and focus on intimate family time.
We chose the Imperial Club option so we were immediately directed from the concierge desk in the Lobby to the Imperial Club Lounge (I.C.L.) on another floor.
What a pleasure being sure that nourishing food & refreshing beverages were immediately available at the I.C.L buffet for us all, while the Imperial Club Concierge ensured everything else was being taken care of, as our children had been up and traveling since 6am and it was then after 3pm.
We had booked only a few days before arriving and were very specific on a non-smoking room being extremely sensitive to it, as a result we sadly didn't get a room with a sea & aquarium view though they did their utmost to accommodate us.
The Restaurants we ate at were very impressive both in their genuinely attentive service (remember - two young children), their delicious food and wonderful selections.
I would most certainly recommend Kaleidoscope for family meals - every one of us found foods to brag about with favourites to indulge our fussy palates.
If we wanted something more intimate we headed to the Imperial Club Lounge.
For Mom & Pop time, we hired a baby sitter for an evening & headed to the 3 Star Michelin Chef restaurant, Ossiano. The photo's on their website almost don't do it justice it's that impressive: http://www.atlantisthepalm.com/dining/awardwinning/ossiano.aspx
What you don't get off their blurb on the website is that you have two choices only: you either select one of the two 'Chef's menu' & everyone at the table must conform or you chose a' la Carte and again, that is then what everyone at the table must do. It was a pity for us as I most definitely wanted the De Luxe menu and my Beloved wanted only selected items off the a la Carte menu. It was a fun & interesting evening with some heavenly creations, the only regret for the evening was that the Lobster Salad starter was more impressive than the Blue Lobster Main Meal which was almost double the price of the starter too. We shared tastings of each other's meals, naturally, so we compared everything.
The other delicious & highly recommended dining experience we enjoyed (sans children) was our evening at SeaFire Steakhouse. The best Steakhouse experience I've had in many years - again due the the attentive staff, the divine meal & "to die for" desserts.
On a previous stay at Atlantis, The Palm, we had enjoyed the inspiring Dolpin Experience (highly recommended if you won't have any other opportunities to encounter these beautiful & amazing Creatures right in front of you in the water) so this time our focus was on family fun & together time, making the most of the Water Park. The slides are well taken care of, the water and rest areas clean & the park still feels fresh and new. It was not as crowded & loud as the other big beach resort water park, just down the road (but not on "The Palm" ) and the other one certainly doesn't have the Dolphin & Aquarium attractions (no free advertising here).
The Life Safer's were attentive & not as arrogant & complacent.
That said, (and I made it heard), there was one character who couldn't stop flirting with a nanny of children he was meant to be minding on the junior water park slides, while the little people pushed & shoved each other out of the way & down the slide - that was until he saw me glaring at him while a a few dozen parents assumed that Life Guard was taking care of the safety aspects...
The weather in Dubai at the end of September & early in October is perfect.
Beach Island Paradise type perfect.
You can stay in the water all day and not feel freezing yet when you climb out you dry fast & at the same time you don't feel that incapacitating Dubai summer heat that makes you melt like ice cream splattering in hard drops to the floor in minutes due to pure heat exhaustion. It's a 9/10 good.
Overall, the rooms are spacious & well maintained, the beds generous and very comfortable, the linen & pillows are of lovely quality, the bathroom very spacious with both a large shower, comfortable family sized bath and separately closing toilet & bidet area.
The Imperial Club room's worth every blue dime, the food selections fantastic, the views beautiful.
What were the :(' s ?
well,
~There is only a Kids Club for children from four years old and up, it would be a treat if we could get a chance of a morning out shopping & lunching with just Mom & Pop having the chance to re-connect,
~We had made use of the 'in-house' tailor to stitch up a silk item and the work as really shoddy,
~We had requested the Club Lounge to enquire about access to a Yoga class or instructor at a certain time within the next 24 hr period and the concierge we made the request with only got back to us 36hours after the requested time slot, then making sure we understood it wasn't on offer - a little late 'dhaaarling',
~We ordered in-room dining for delivery to our room for our children, via the Club Lounge Concierge, one evening while relaxing in the Club Lounge,
On arriving in the room we waited somewhat longer than we probably would have had we ordered it directly from Room Service ourselves (defeating the entire point of the exercise),
and then when it eventually arrived it came without cutlery, salt/pepper or any other condiments.
After making numerous telephone requests to the I.C.L. & to the In-Room dining, our children eventually went to sleep almost without touching the food after which it all then ironically arrived.
~When we arrived at the Hotel, we requested that a relatively small, sealed and packed bag of frozen items please be stored in the Room Service Deep Freezer stating clearly to the person who collected the parcel as well as to the I.C.L. Concierge that we required the item returned at a very specific time on the day of our departure - it came almost 2 hours later that day than we requested thus forcing us to stay in the hotel room until the item's return rather than being able to go lounge at the pool with final cocktails or to check-out calmly in the I.C.L in our final two hours.
~we didn't appreciate that it was for the main part, consistently the same Concierge that had made the errors but more over, that she implied that they were our mistakes and misunderstandings... that was certainly not appreciated.
~The same goes for the In Room Service Department. Their Manager unexpectedly arrived the following day to apologise for our in-room dining experience, making the same mistake of us "not understanding how it works" this while we were twiddling our thumbs calling every department we could think of for our frozen items - triple whammy for In Room Service department with just as many for the I.C.L. Concierge ... (we'll unfortunately remember your names)

Overall, these issues - except for the 2hour wait on our departure/last day - didn't detract too much from our overall fun during our sun, fun, beach and water family get-away.
We'll be returning for sure (just more cautious next time), as Atlantis, The Palm as a whole experience do get so much right in so many other ways.

This was our third visit to the Atlantis, and we are never dissapointed.
The service is amazing, the staff are extremely attentive and very friendly. Our room was beautiful and always cleaned to a high standard. Saffron is our favourite restaurant, plenty of choice for everyone and a huge chocolate fountain which would please any child.
The drinks are expensive but that is only to be expected in Dubai.
We shall definately be returning asap.

It is located at the topof the man-made palm island. It's only half hour ride by taxi from the airport. The roads are nice and certainly there are no bumpy rides anywhere. Although you can see a lot of constructions going on, the city appears clean & tidy. The sky was a bit misty when we were there, well dubai is a desert area.

The aquacenter was excellent and free for hotel guests and normal entry fee for an adult is 200 dirham. We did all the rides there except we didn't have the nerve to try to "leap of faith". For the ziggurat rides, kids need to be at least 120 cm tall and this rule is strictly enforced. But my son was really was scared after trying the level 2 ride,

The towels are free for hotel guests at the aquacenter. Remember to bring plenty of water to drink. You can also go to private beach but we tried it once, we went straight back to the Royal Pool. The sea water seemed quite salty and water was really warm.

The morning buffet in Kaleidoscope is good with plenty of choices. It's 150 dirhams for adults and 100 for kids.

They have free hotel shuttle buses to Dubai Mall, Emirates Mall and Outlet Mall. They are usually quite crowded. We tend to take taxi more often.

There is a ice dispensing machine on each floor. The in-room internet and wi-fi are not cheap, about 40-50 dirhams per hour.

There is free wi-fi in most major shopping malls.
