“Friday brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Visited for Friday brunch last week and was not disappointed.

Especially enjoyed the early courses as they were of a very high standard and provided most variety.

This is a great setting for a special occasion and the staff provided excellent service throughout.

“Good Food, Nice Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

We recently had a ‘girl’s night out’ at Thai Kitchen and it was lovely. The restaurant is an open kitchen concept with the kitchen in the middle of the room and the tables either surrounding the kitchen or overlooking the water/sea. With all of the fruits, vegetables and sauces on display, it made you want to stay and eat for days.

We ordered some aperitifs that came quite quickly. The Thaijito (AED 60) was a fun changeup on the Mojito, I would recommend giving it a try. They also have other drinks – Whiskey sour (AED 55) and one person ordered Prosecco (AED 75). A large bottle of water will set you back AED 30.

For our main course, two people ordered the Set Menu II (AED 250/person) and it was enough food for four people! It lists the dish categories as curry, noodles, dessert, etc. and we had assumed that we would choose one from each category but actually it includes everything. It was nice to give so many dishes a try but even with a bite or two from each one, there was way too much food. The food was good quality and tasted great. It was nice to watch them prepare it in the kitchen and they answered all of our questions about the items we didn’t recognize.

The wine list is decent, not too extravagant and typical Dubai prices. We had a bottle of Spanish red wine (AED 320) that was good.
The service was good and not too obtrusive. We were able to easily ask for more drinks, more rice and the bill. We spent three hours at the table, eating, chatting and eating some more for a great evening.

For four people, lots of alcohol and enough food for eight people, we spent AED 1465. I would definitely return again.

“The Thai Kitchen, revisited!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

After a year and a half of boycotting my fave restaurant because the lack of service on our previous visit, my husband decided it was time to give it another go...and we were not disappointed at all. The staff remembered us from our last visit and ensured that we had the best table in the house, our server was fantastic, she even remembered my favorite spicy sauce, pointed out the new lighting in the outdoor area (which was one of our complaints) and gave excellent recommendations for food choices for the evening. She was attentive but not cloying. Food was excellent as usual, but I still think the serving sizes are way too small for the price they charge but it's a small price to pay to getting authentic Thai cuisine outside of Thailand. The chef even came to our table, as did the manager. For them to remember us after our last visit was a "wow" factor in itself, and showing that they appreciated our comments and gave us a big welcome back, has surely won us over again.

“Service was the biggest let down”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

I agree with the other TA contributors about two things, poor service and over-priced Thai food.
We booked for our wedding anniversary and not expecting anything special we were rewarded
with just that nothing! Not even a Happy Anniversary greeting. The outside table was OK but you need a torch to read the menu. TIP get the App. We went for the AED250 each Banquet selection which was just OK and nothing special at all. It all comes in dribs and drabs and not really synchronized so by the time the mains come you are fed up, literally! They got my bill wrong and it took ages to get someone to attend us. I wrote to the management and at least they responded. Would I recommend this as a venue for traditional and authentic Thai food, never. There are far better places in Dubai to eat Thai food and much cheaper with excellent service. I gave it a three star rating for ambiance but nothing for service or pricing.
