Had four nights in this spectacular location. Even though this is through the "soft opening" period, and there are always small bugs to be ironed out, it was a really enjoyable experience.

This ship has been refurbished to the 20th century look and feel, but with the 21st century necessities such as large flat screen TV's, WiFi, and on screen ability to order from menus, view bills, see what's happening on board.

Check in and out is through a cafe/museum/reception area on the dock. Easy and friendly.

Cabins are spotless, well-appointed, and in the superior cabins - quite roomy.

The food and beverage facilities that are open at present have great views, service, and are not too expensive by Dubai standards.

Overall the staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The large convenience store on board is very handy.

It will be more spectacular as more decks and restaurants/bars are gradually opened, but already it covers from the buffet to the fine dining.

Perfect - no, no location is, little niggles such as lack of ATM, and the sometimes long delay for making up the room, but these are minor gripes.

For anyone jaded by the overdone nature of Dubai's hotels, this is a wonderful option at a reasonable price with great service. It does feel like a slice of history and it s a fun place.

Room Tip: Try for the seaward facing cabins

Visited this stunning beauty, on Eid day, and was very excited to see this work of art from the pages of history book.

We visited Lido for lunch, which was a very pleasant experience, my friends accompanying me were very impressed by the whole ambience that the Queen Elizabeth had, especially Lido. The first standout feature was the staff on how genuine they sounded when they interacted, always smiling and making sure my group of friends were well taken care of, a special mention to the restaurant manager the Indian gentleman by the name of Navneet as far as i remember, who was kind enough to tell us about the history & heritage behind the vessel, a very good brand ambassador for the restaurant. The food was also great a wide selection of food on the buffet with a lot of variety and the quality of food was also commendable, i highly recommended to everyone who are looking for a slightly unique experience in the city, will definitely come back soon. Keep up the fabulous work Queen Elizabeth 2 Team.

You should come and also enjoy the World Cup also. They have like a bunch of all types of screens. P.S Its on a freakin boat !!!! How cool is that ?!

Dear Mezzawi,

We are so pleased that you enjoyed our "oldest" pub. We do hope to see you back for the FIFA world cup games. We do recommend you try our Football Tent on your next visit. We have a range of competitions and promo's running in the tent. Not to mention Big Rossi from Virgin Radio playing throughout the entire world cup.

what an awesome experience!! we stayed the night on the QE2 and went to the cabaret that is currently running. fantastic experience - show, ambience, setting - all exceeded our expectations. only downsides were: check-in/out definitely needs some work but would put that down to teething problems; the only other big 'no-no' was at the actual event (Razzle & Dazzle featuring the Jack Pack) was when the compere for the evening ended of his introduction with 'don't forget to tip your waitress'!! an audible gasp of horror at his crassness could be heard! but apart from that - could not recommend enough! Dubai you're onto a winner!

My wife and I had decided to book an overnight stay in the hotel onboard as we had booked for the show Razzle & Dazzle. From the time to step into the terminal on the Quayside you are transformed into a bygone era. The staff await to book you in and then take you off to the cabin/room. Ours was on Deck level 1 which had just recently been completed. Walking down the passages you feel intimidated by the fixtures knowing of all the famous people that also walked these passages over the past 50 years of her reign.
We visited all the onboard bars and restaurants, each with each own flair of history being brought back to life. All the waiters and waitresses are well managed and eager to assist you. even the management staff are seen mingling amongst the visitors / customers.
The theatre where the show was held allowed for the theme to transform you back in time. The food and the show gets a 5+ from us as well as the many people we met with. This is something that brings a different aspect of entertainment to Dubai. The night also saw all the show goers dress up in Gatsby style which made the experience even more interesting.
Buffet breakfast was well organized and the good variety of foods hot/cold to choose from. Sadly aftre breakfast we had to leave again, but we will be back later in the year again as we had been told that the full launch will be done in October when all the restaurants and bars will be completed as well as all the rooms for the hotel.
All in all, a good overnight stay with a totally new experience. To the management, keep it up and well done

Good day Andre O,

We are so happy you enjoyed our "Razzle and Dazzle" show. This is the first of many more shows to come. We are so grateful for the positive response from the public. We wanted to stay true to her iconic history and with that came the theme of the live entertainment but with a modern twist.

We look forward to seeing you at our next show and hopefully even sooner to enjoy the Queens Grill. Another reason to dress up for memorable journey aboard the QE2.
