We booked this hotel because we our first choice was fully booked. This hotel was the only hotel that is on the cheap list and looks clean when I browse through hotel.com during my time of travel. Because I went to Dubai without advance research and we went during their holiday (one week). The only thing I was hesitated was the location at first but after reading through the reviews and what's offer from the hotel, I decided to book this hotel.

The hotel end up almost prefect location for us as a tourist because a lot of the tourist attractions are locate in Bur Dubai. There are bus stops near by. This hotel offers shut drop off and pick for 2-3 different malls which include Dubai Mall and Jumeirah beach.

I gave two stars because the cleanness and lack of information from concierge. Concierge people didn't know 9 out of 10 questions we inquired. I was kind of impress by one of the front desk person. We wanted to exchange some money and he was honestly told us that the rate from outside is better than the hotel. Luckily there was one guy we can ask (Google). The cleanness of the hotel is not what I expected. I see mold around the show stand.

The location of the hotel was great.. and it was a true melting pot of so many nationalities.. The room was a little small and lacked basic amenities like sufficient hangers and shower caps.. but the room service and food more than made up for any drawbacks. The staff were pleasant, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a bit manic .. but there is something to meet most of your needs.
the pool at the top is adequate but can do with better lighting... Nice view of the Burj Khalifa though!

This hotel is conveniently located on Mankhool Road. Metro station (Al fahidi and Rashid) are walking distance. Rooms are a little small being a budget hotel however cleanliness was never a concern during our stay. The restaurant is being efficiently managed by staff during peak morning hours for breakfast. Hotel has shuttle service to Dubai Mall and Jumeirah beach. All in all it was a good budget option in Dubai

Room Tip: Corner rooms have good view of Mankhool Road

I was very skeptical about this place initially, after reading some of the bad reviews. But i had no choice, but to take this place, since the lack of rooms in other hotels due to GITEX exhibition dates.

But to my surprise, it was a great place. For single person like me, the room size (as considered small) was quite comfortable for me. There was hot water at all times, the Central ac was functional. Internet in the room was via LAN cable (about a metre long) decent if you will work on work desk. (Wifi internet in the rooms are charged extra) Wifi Guest internet in the lobby/reception is free too.

Tea bags, water and sugar, with a water heater. A locker and a small fridge was also available. in the bathroom, Shower Gel is provided. But you will need to get your own toiletries like toothpaste, brush, shaving items etc.

Morning breakfast (which was included in my package) was decent. Not alot of variety, but good enough, with hotdogs, eggs, rice, salads, fruits, cheese, bread, oats, cornflakes and some other things, which i dont know what it was. Breakfast was from 6.30 am to 10.30 am

Reception and other employees, were very friendly and supportive. My flight reached early, so i had to have an early checkin, which costs 240 diahrams extra (as per rates during the exhibition week).

The hotel is 20 mins away from terminal 2 (airport) and about 7 mins from the Dubai Trade Centre. Alot of taxis pass by the hotel. its advisable to take the ones from the road outside the hotel , than the hotel limos, which has a bit higher price.

There was a sports pub and indian restaurant, however i didnt visit them, due to the lack of time, so i dont have anything to review there.

I had ordered dinner as a room service. in both cases, they were prompt and accepted creditcards.

Its a good place for a short trip and i highly recommend.

Room Tip: Higher the better as it would drown the music from the sports pub. Ask for a good view as im told, b...

Liked the location and price. Didn't like the lack of service or personalisation. Crowd was noisy and the room was too small. However at the rate would suggest for families. They have another location which I heard was better.

We along with our relatives from India booked 2 rooms for 2 nights at Citymax, Burdubai. Rooms are abnormally small. Bulbs are not working. Given a tea spoon thats made of plastic. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Horrible experience overall. Later we discovered that this hotel owned by a Sindhi businessman, micky Jagtiani. So, No wonder.

Dear Sumar S,

As we welcome comments in tripadvisor both positive and negative. It is always helpful to respond to comments that are not targeted to any particular culture, race or individual. As such I am happy to address the issues you had mentioned which was service related.

1. Our rooms are 22 sq.m. in size and advertised as such in our Citymaxhotel website and any other collateral which contains information about our property. In-fact our rooms are slightly larger than that of our competitors, such as Ibis which are 19 sq.m. in size.

2. Yes, we do provide plastic spoons in our rooms for tea and coffee making facilities as we are a “mid-market” hotel as advertised.

3. Thank you for pointing out the fact that our bathrooms don’t have fans. This is well noted and can be addressed in the future.

It is never good to hear that our customers write about a bad experience. However, as somebody who travels himself, I generally go on-line and investigate the different type of hotel in any city to which he/she plans to travel.

It is unfortunate that you feel this way about our product. However, I do believe that should you have gone onto our website prior to your travel to Dubai, you would have had some idea as to what the property has to offer.

I certainly wish you a better experience on your next visit to Dubai.

Best Regards,

Walter Knight

Small room, but clean. Only last night they braught the towels smelling like hair oil!!!! The TV remote control was not working.
If you are a conservative family with kids i dont recommend it as it contain a night club with bar in front of the reception and itight be accoward esp late at night with the night life and drunken ppl.
Its situated near a metro station and many small shops and supermarket.
