“Shopping haven”

Shops, shops and more shops. If you are looking for gold, diamond, watches and gifts, you will get it here. Even designer fakes.

“Like being in India”
Reviewed 29 November 2012

Wow! Meena Bazaar is like being in an Indian city. Shops carry the latest fashions in clothing. Avoid some of the watch and perfume stores. The experience of walking the streets is great.

“Tourist can be spotted one single mile away!”
Reviewed 23 November 2012

Right the meena bazaar is a nice place indeed, if your from UK basically imagine Wembley or southall X5.

Lots of Indian clothe shops, prices seemed higher then Wembley or local places back home though I guess you must really haggle/bargain though !

You will find lots of restaurants (mainly indian) but some do Chinese dishes also, lots of expensive jewellery shops, endless rows of textile/fabric shops also.

The only shops that got my interest as a bloke was the £1 shops, there MASSIVE compared to the ones in UK, they will do clothes as well with good prices on them. souvenirs galore also.

In the Meena bazaar don't worry you can find those local high street markets/shops that do the basics of bread and milk and mineral water 5lr bottles even and plenty of snacks and food. And they were well priced also, there everywhere to be found.

The one bad thing about the bazaar is if your not from that local area prepare to be harassed every 5 minutes, shop keepers will be standing at the corners and outside there malls/shops and they all have the same script which is

"Sir or Madame, are you interested in goji handbags, goji watches, goji wallets, goji bags"

You will hear the same thing sometimes with other brands, they will try there best to get you to look at there stock or come to there store and make a sale, really hard balling people they will walk with you for a bit even if you try and walk away.

So any tourist or outsider they will know instantly, at one point I caught one guy eyeing me from very far away so I decided to walk across the road to avoid him, he then walked across the road to meet me lol

I got so fed up of hearing cheap fake Goji handbags I almost ended up just buying one despite being a bloke.

Pretty much Meena bazzar looked a male orientated place, rarely saw women down there and no white/black people much either, mainly Indian men.

Explorer the bazaar and you will find KFC and Tgi fridays, I could not see a Mcdonalds or BK though.

Its nice to go out at night and a different experience you still get haggeled away by store keepers though but the lights and display on the shops make it more nicer.
