A group of 8 spent a week at this hotel following England during the ODIs. We were well looked after during our stay and were surprised to read negative comments on this site. A very clean, comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Many thanks

Spent two nights at the hotel this January and was a little disappointed with it. Room was clean and tidy but they have cut back on the little things like the tea and coffee making within the room. We asked for some extra at the desk but were told we must contact housekeeping. We contacted housekeeping and asked for some milk rather than the creamer supplied. This was a chargeable item and on arrival we were given a litre cartoon of milk. We explained that we only required enough milk to make a cup of tea but the housemaid spoke very little English so we spoke with the on duty manager. He stated that if he gave us a small jug of milk then he would have to throw the rest away as opened milk could not be placed back into the fridges. So we accepted the litre of milk. Breakfast was also disappointing. We asked for tea and coffee but the waiter stated that he didn't serve tea and coffee and would inform the relevant person. I like many other guest went to the tea and coffee station and helped ourselves as there did not seem enough staff to cope with the breakfast period. The breakfast was average. We had read about the reports about the smoking and yes they are true. Went for a drink in the bar on the Saturday evening and it was wall to wall smoke. The hotel is located near the Mall of the Emirates but the area is still in the development stage so there are unmade areas to deal with if you are walking. Would I stay here again? No is the answer. We have travelled the middle east on numerous occasions in the past decade and Dubai has far better hotels to offer than the Ramada Chelsea.

This is a disappointing hotel. You arrive in lobby that reeks of smoke, despite the fact that no smoking signs are posted. Decor manages to be cheap and garish at the same time--not attractive at all. The room that I was in was cramped and not particularly well-designed. I suppose that the location near the Mall of the Emirates is a plus, but it's on the far side of the Mall from Sheikh Zayed Road and the metro, so accessibility is not great. The breakfast buffet was, well, pathetic. The main restaurant was full, so we were shunted into the Chinese restaurant. The food was barely passable and service was atrocious--we had to wait 10 minutes for our coffee and had to struggle to get the attention of the staff. I'd give this hotel a miss unless you really just need a cheapish place to stay in Dubai...and even then, there are better options.

Stayed at Ramada Chelsea on 2 occasions in January, 9 nights in total.

Despite some reviews here, the hotel is located in an excellent position being just 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Mall of the Emirates. Whilst the pavement on the main road is not made up in places, it is just as easy to walk on the parallel road behind the hotel. Here you will find a couple of supermarkets, some local eateries and a pharmacy.

The Dubai Metro has a station within the Mall. An all day ticket is just AED16 allowing unlimited travel on the system. The metro is new, vey clean and highly efficient.

Taxis in Dubai are relatively cheap. Hotel transport we had pre arranged to collect us from the airport was about three times the cost of a taxi!

The hotel itself is very much as you might expect for a city centre business / tourist hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable albeit they do seem to vary in size quite considerably.

Reception staff were always very helpfull. The Ramada Chelsea has several restaurants and a sports bar. Food quality was good but cost wise seemed a little expensive. That said, prices were very much on par to other hotels we visited in the UAE.

All in all, the Ramada Chelsea is a good choice for a short stay / stop over in Dubai.

Room Tip: Low floors probably better as lifts sometimes slow but non smoking rooms appeared to be sixth floor...

We were there for one night recently the hotel was very clean and nice should say,the staff were very helpful Muriel at the counter and Sofia were very friendly. The room was attractive with modern decor. We booked for a twin room and were upgraded to a suite however at the check in.Unfortunately we did not have time to experience the rest of the hotel facilities as we were out most of the time.

The only negative points were that we were asked to pay another 250 aed equivalent to 70 usd as a refendable deposit along with the one night stay amount which they had already blocked on my friend`s credit card. When inquired we were told it`s for additional expenses in case and we said we wont be having as we were there for a festival.

However I thought this was very unusual and this was the first time it happend to us we had stayed at other hotels in dubai before and even in other countries this had never happend to us.They refunded the deposit at check out.

The metro station is at the Mall of the Emirates was convienient though it required good 15 to 20 mins walk as you have to walk behind lot of buidlings due to the road construction.Other than this we thought it was a good hotel. The internet rates are quite high specially when its provided free of charge in other hotels.
However we got it for free as we booked through booking.com.

We stayed at the Ramada Chelsea after being recommended by a friend to stay in Al Barsha area. The hotel is located on a busy main road, not far from Mall of the Emirates. I don't know what else is nearby this location, but location was the main downside. The hotel itself was fine, the buffet breakfast was decently priced and good but not spectacular. The hotel has a sports bar which was above average, with live music and a good atmosphere. It seemed to be popular hang out for local expats. The rooms were clean enough and again nothing overly special but ok (ours was overlooking a car park, can't recommend this hotel for the views). The health club seemed well equipped and there was an Arabic restaurant that made use of a nice outdoor space. Overall, it is good value for money, especially if you have a reason to stay in this area, but if you are visiting Dubai just for a few days I would recommend trying to stay somewhere closer to downtown. The taxis are cheaper enough however, so if you get the right price then it is still a good option.

Room Tip: Ask for a view that doesn't overlook the car park

A good value hotel close to the Mall of the Emirates, a 10 minute walk, but go around the back of the hotel for the best route, a good sports bar in the hotel and live music some nights, avoid the hotel restaurants, as very pricey with hit and miss slow service,,better to eat in the food court at the mall, also good conections to the marina and golf club from the metro at the mall.

Room Tip: ask for lower floors up to 5th as windows are full length and can be a bit hair raising at the top...
