“Second time round - still fabulous.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

Having stayed at the One and Only last year (and falling in love with the hotel) we returned this year. It's the first time we've stayed in the same hotel twice and I was a bit apprehensive about it. Arriving at 1.00 a.m., a welcome drink was brought over by the waiter, who we immediately recognised and he us. From then on things just fell into place and we had a marvellous relaxing week. It's one of the smallest top-star hotels, which is what we like. Even the basic rooms are fitted out to a very high spec, and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. It's a beautiful building, with great restaurants, gorgeous pool, etc, but what makes this hotel such a success is the staff. They are so helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel for us is one of its main attractions. We aren't interested in shopping, sightseeing, etc, in Dubai, so it's purely a week of relaxing by the pool or on the beach, I think people should decide what exactly they want from their holiday and choose a hotel accordingly. If you plan to go into the town each day, I wouldn't recommend staying here. I also don't think it's the best place for children. The atmosphere around the pool is very chilled, very peaceful, very romantic. It's definitely a hotel for couples. There were a couple of issues where it went a bit awry, but the important thing is that all matters were quickly and efficiently dealt with. This is now our little bolthole to escape to when reality becomes too much and we will definitely be back. Love it, love it, love it!

Idyllic beach setting, wonderful rooms, superb food served through three different outlets, fantastic spa, excellent gym, great service, and guaranteed weather. This must be Dubai's top resort for discrete and elegant luxury. The prices are actually quite reasonable but reckon on €800 per day minimum including dinner. This is not an outrageous figure when compared to the superlatives that do justice to describing this top of the range establishment!

Room Tip: Go for a beach room; worth the extra!

I went with my husband for our honeymoon and we loved it! The hotel is new and they keep it top notch.

Pros: you can enjoy dubai's vibrant city as well as relax at the resort. If we would have stayed at the Armani at Burj Khalifa (for example) we would have only been able to enjoy the city. Whereas here we did half and half. 2 days at the city and 1 whole day at the hotel (beach, pool, spa, villa).
The rooms are very spacious with huge bathrooms. Breakfast has a wide variety from what to choose. Even though the hotel was at full capacity the hotel didn't feel crowded. It has an amazing view to the new part of the city.

Cons: It's quite far from everything. It takes about 20min just to get out of The Palm. You can't have lunch at the pool or beach (you have to go to the restaurant). When you're relaxing by the pool/beach there are helicopters (tourists) constantly flying over The Palm so it's hard to relax. Lastly, there was poor service at the 101 restaurant. We got a table for lunch outside on the dock and there was 1 waiter for 8 tables. The waiter was going as fast as he could but he couldn't please all 8 tables (consequently our lunch was served 1 hour after we ordered).

Even though the hotel has some hicups, I would recommend going if you want a piece of both worlds (city and beach/resort)

Recommendation: charter a yacht from the hotel and have it tour The Palm and a canal in the new city. That was the best part of our visit.

Arrived at the weekend which was very busy and service slightly lacking. But this was soon sorted out by Oliver. Service there after was incredible, couldn't do enough for us. Had an amazing dinning experience at Stay and Zest was also worth a visit. Beautiful rooms with extremely comfortable beds. So despite our initial reservations we would definitely go back again to this hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderfully luxurious, depends whether you want to go the extra with private pool etc.

Have been to a few One and Only's and this give the same standard. The staff are friendly, the facilities good and all make for a great stay. There are three Restaurants, Zest which does a really nice breakfast and Dinner there was nice (if not a too exciting menu). 101 does both tapas and a nice choice of menu. There is a bar with the most stunning views of Dubai, really enjoyed it, however the music is at a volume of a nightclub so if you want intimate conversation this is not the place to go. There is also a French restaurant where the wine and food is excellent. You can also take the water taxi over to the One and Only Royal Mirage where there is a choice of 8 restaurants so if you want a change that is an option, if you are on half board there is a 25% discount off that meal. I also used the Spa and had a really nice massage. It is not cheap, but then Dubai isnt, then it is an excellent choice for those who want to be slightly out of the main hussle and bustle of Dubai itself

In the new palm area of Dubai. A long distance from everything which is it's only fault as the palm area is still developing. Mostly hotels and condos however. 30-45 minute taxi to most everything to do. Taxis are very inexpensive however. Rooms are very nice as is all the staff. Breakfast is outstanding. We did not dine in for any other meals.

Even by the high standards most international travelers have come to expect from this amazing city, the One and Only Palm Hotel has set a new benchmark for us. My wife and I have stayed in many beautiful hotels but I can say without reservation that this is one of the best.
It's to be found at the last frond on the left if you're facing the Persian Gulf and enjoys the most peaceful of locations. The three restaurants provide truly excellent choice and quality, together with a level of service that takes some beating. It's a most relaxing hotel and we will not pass through Dubai on our way to distant parts without refueling for a few days at the One and Only Palm Hotel. Many thanks.
