“A great escape to nature in Dubai”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2014

Ras Al Khor Sanctuary is a great break from the mostly artificially built city.

Its somewhat difficult to reach through public transport. Own vehicle or Taxi is recommended.

First observation deck is placed on a service road towards end of 'Ras Al Khor Road' where it joins 'Oud Metha Road'.

On following the same road and taking the exit on right towards Dubai, one can find the second observation deck on another service road.

NOTE: This place is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on all days except Friday.
We once went there on friday without knowing the timing and it was a disappointment.

Flemingos were easy to locate from the second observation deck and the sight was well worth the effort to get there.

Its surely a rare escape to pure nature in middle of a modern city. Must do for most nature lovers.

“amazing...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2014

I was there few times ( couple of months ago) and was not impressed by what i saw, but this time it was totally different... there was so many birds and for a moment I even forgot that I was in Dubai. If you are into wild life, do your self a favour and go there.... you will not be disappointed.

“A good break from the Malls”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014

This place is not easily accessible by bus or metro. The best way to get there is by bus or metro upto Oud Metha and from there take a taxi. But definitely worth a visit. Very interesting to see so many flamingos and other birds. They have binoculars and you can get a very good view of these beautiful birds. A special thanks to the friendly bus driver to helped us get there.

“Not a twitter but actually fascinating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

Quite hard to find but well worth. Not a great fan of this sort of photography but actually got really into it. Saw Flamingos, Kingfishers, Ospreys etc... all with the skyline of Dubai behind.

“A Twitters Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

Dubai is know for it glam and glitz and this is a peace of heaven in this busy metropolis. The hides are well located and you will see some beautiful birds in this sanctuary. Signage on roads is poor so be prepare before you embark on the journey. A twitters paradise
