I went to Asha's after a long time, since i had vouchers to use from my Entertainer i though i go for this restaurant since it had been a while i had it and also because i was craving for some good authentic Indian food.
We went during the weekend for Lunch and i dont think it was a good idea since it was too busy. We got a table outside even though we wanted to sit inside, we were told if we wanted a table inside that would at least take a good 30min and we didn't wanted to wait that long. After getting a table we had to wait for almost 15min before someone took down our order, after our order was taken down we were served with a basket of Papadum, the Papads were absolutely soggy and looked like it was kept out for too long, it had been absolutely soft and had lost its crunchiness. The mains took a while to come almost after 30minutes for once i though they forget about our order. The staff is really busy and didn't paid attention to our needs, we had to wait for a while before someone could assist us.
For our drinks we ordered Alchemist, its a absolutely refreshing mock tail mixed with Raspberry and Lychees, on my first sip i felt it was a bit bitter but once i got the hanged of it i finished it pretty quickly. For our mains we orders Chicken Awadh Biryani and Lamp Awadh Gravy accompanied by Garlic Naan and Romali Roti. The food was served absolutely hot and the waiter served us in our plates. I first started with the Lamb Awadh Gravy, this gravy had a nice mix of flavours and was not very spicy and we could easily get the taste of the yummy tender meat, not too oily or filled with masalas in fact it had the right balance, was good. The Chicken Awadh Biryani was something different then the usual Biryani's and it went down perfectly well with the Raita. The Biryani was amazingly delicious and i couldn't stop myself from having more of it. It consists of all the right flavours and the Chicken too was very tender, it was a tasty and i would definitely recommend this one. Even the Garlic Naan was not too oily and had the Garlic taste otherwise at times they tend to be stingy with the Garlic. After we were done again it took a while for some staff to come to our table and give us some suggestions for the Desserts, very slow and inefficient. We first had a good look at the Desserts menu and though of ordering Profiteroles but we were said thats not there next we though we go for Mango Parfait even that they said is not there at the end the waiter said there is only few things for Dessert so we went for Rasmalai. Dont know why the dishes are there if its not available for the customers. Fortunately as i was giving the order for my Dessert we even told them to get our bill because i was sure even thats going to take a while to come and i was right. The Rasmalai was pretty average lacked taste and was quite blend, they can do so much better with it.
Before my Bill came i had handed my Entertainer voucher so that it could be redeemed but too my surprise i couldn't use it since they dont consider Biryani a main dish and just last year i had used but now they dont accept it because they have made Biryani a side dish, how strange is that. This is so unethical because earlier i could use it but now they have changed there ruled to suit them. This thing made me quite disappointed.
The quantity is good of this place but service is absolutely bad and pathetic will take the staff a while to cater to you and price wise its expensive compared to other Indian Fine Dining Restaurants. I guess the Price which they are charging should also match the service they provide.
