“Dubai Harbedashery Street - How to find beads and Sewing materials”

Been looking for places that sells handicraft materials, sewing materials, beads and rhinestones and finally found it. It is about five minutes walk from the Baniyas Square metro station. When you get out of the metro make sure you use the Baniyas street exit. Most of the items sold are cheaper here if you buy a bigger amount. Best to use the metro to get to the Naif area as parking is a bit of a nightmare and getting a taxi out of this area is also a challenge.

This souk offers a wide variety of abaayas for moslim women. My wife was really delighted, and the key is to know how to bargain. We made very Good deals and i even found a shop where i could buy traditional abaayas for men, from Dubai and the Khaleej in general. Do not buy from the shopping malls as they are very expensive there, and another advice, learn how to negotiate.

Enjoy this very much. Numerous markets on top of the street level stalls offering many items. Haggling is key, altho we needed practice. It takes a skill to withstand their negotiating skills. Check the source of the products like scarves, as all too many come from China and / or made from rayon. This is key if you want cotton from India.
