Really enjoyed our stay here for four nights in January. Our arrival was ultra-early, considering check-in is at 2.30 pm, but the receptionist had us in our room within 10 minutes. Very much appreciated after a long flight. All staff attentive, welcoming and informative. Enjoyed being able to use the pool and spa facilities at the large Meridien near the airport (free shuttle, large towels provided). Very nice and relaxing after spending December in snow-bound Europe. Our studio was clean, with bed made up and housekeeping done by the time we returned after each day out. Towels and toiletries were replaced each day and newspaper was provided. We would have been happy to put away our breakfast dishes but there was no tea towel provided!! Union metro station is few minutes' walk from the hotel. It's a delight to use: spotless, uncrowded and efficient. Tip: if you'd like to go to the top of the new Burj Khalifa, take the metro to Dubai Mall and it's a 10-minute walk from the station - just follow the Burj!! Best to book a couple of days in advance so you won't run out of time and miss it. Costs 100 dirhams. Also, don't miss the amazing musical water fountains in Dubai Mall. Quite a spectacle. Eating? We had lunch each day by the pool at the Meridien. Excellent service, reasonable prices. Also ate at Iranian and Indian restaurants near to the Deira hotel. Good value. Will definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here when next we visit Dubai. Cheers!!

Really enjoyed staying here for 6 nights in total. Very convenient, close to abra station/Big Bus Company bus stop. To tell you the truth, I prefer Studio to 1 bed room. Every room is kind of equipped slightly different. The first room (1BR 900dirham per night) I stayed comes with horrible sofa; not new at all, uncomfortable to sit and shabby. It is far from Le Meridien image. I really admit that it is time to be replaced. However, studio rooms (800dirham per night) I stayed for other nights are much better. Thick and new curtain, comfy sofa, plentiful kitchen tools. The only difference between 1BR and Studio is 1) washing machine 2) microwave and 3) iron/iron board.
<What I had every day was>
Newspaper delivered, 4 or 5 English TV channels, Dry Cleaning service, Room Cleaning. Also Post Office behind this accomodation ;-D
<What I didn't have was>
Breakfast ( no restauran here, even cafe), Tour arrangement.
<How to Get there>
As of Jan 2010, not every Dubai Metro Station is in operation yet. Fortunately, Union Station is in operation already and Residence DEIRA is just next to it. If you take Dubai METRO, take EXIT1 (not, EXIT2) at Union Station. Once you reach up to the ground level, you will see fountain square just in front, which is called Union Square. You will see about 7-storey-old-white-building beyond the fountain. The building is not outstanding, but sign of 'TITAN WATCHES' really is, it is on the top of the building, you won't miss it. Residence DEIRA is in the building, but you have to walk around to find to the entrance, it is on the other side from METRO. It is only 3 minutes walking from the Union Station. If cabbies don't know Residence DEIRA, just mention Union Station, every cabbie knows Union Station. By the way, Dubai Metro is not in oreration before 14 on every Friday. Please also remember that TITAN WATCHES sign won't be lit up after certain time at night.
<Where to eat nearby>
There is Radisson BLU across the main street. You will find several restaurants in the arcade that belongs to Radisson BLU. There is a small food court in Twin Tower. Even if you don't eat there, it is nice view from the teracce seats in Twin Tower. In case you want to try local restaurants, go to EXIT2 direction. There are many local restaurants including a McDonald's. If you want to buy only drink, go to gas station in front. 5-10 minutes walking takes you to 24 hour supermarket, JEFCO.
<Internet>
Unfortunately, you can't use your computer in rooms, but there is a computer for any guests at lobby. Charged on per minute.
<Express Bus>
There is a bus depot just between the Metro Station and Residence DEIRA. I didn't check the exact details, but most likely, bound for Sharjah.
<TIP>
Book this accomodation through hotel.com something like that, you can get super great deal. Residence DEIRA by Le Meridien is one of serviced apartments, definitely not hotel. Don't show up here with perception ~ otherwise, you will get disappointed, seriously. "OMG, is this really Le Meridien !?"

The most impressing thing about here is friendy staffs. I will come back here when I am in Dubai again.

We stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas 2009. The hotel is a great budget find: clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a great location (1 block from metro station). The staff were very helpful in trying to locate my lost luggage; they called the airport several times a day to assist me. I would definetly return, especially for an extend-type stay.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel as a stopover on our way to Thailand. The room was simple, clean and very spacious. Location was very good, within walking distance to the Creek and a few steps from a recently opened subway station, which can be used to reach most of the main sites in the city as well as the airport. Probably one of the best mid-range hotels in the area. Free wi-fi would have been a plus, but we found an inexpensive cyber café in the vicinities. Would definitely recommend the place!

I already have family based in the Emirates- hence a place to stay.
Despite this, I thought of trying out a hotel in Dubai at a reasonable cost. I managed to book my hotel stay on lastminute.com at a very reasonable price that you will definitely not get as a local in the Emirates. Strategic location, very friendly staff. The only negative point, but a very crucial one I can think of, is that there is NO internet connection! I did not find the location difficult to get to.
If your taxi driver cannot find the location he's definitely trying to keep you longer in the car to possibly charge you more. Tell him to drop you off at the building with an advertisement of "TITAN watches", in addition to the hotel address.
The entrance is on the side of the building adjacent to it.
I will come definitely book another stay in this hotel in the near future.
p.s. Don't forget to request a coupon from the reception to gain access to the gym at the meridean hotel branch next to the airport. It's worth the visit. Hope you enjoy your stay in the Emirates. :)

We had booked an apartment here for three nights, had to travel one day earlier, called the hotel to book the extra night the day we began traveling. The receptionist told me to book online to get the cheaper rate. I was at an airport without a computer, and this threw me for a loop. After thinking about it for awhile, I realized that LeMeridien is part of the Starwood group. So I called their 800 number in the States, booked at a great rate. We were lucky enough to be assigned a one bedroom apartment overlooking the water and the Radisson Blu -- fantastic! Had a newspaper hanging on our doorknob each morning, have NO COMPLAINTS! Loved being close to a market, loved the kitchen, nice tv choices, clean, quiet, cool, LOCATED fantastically well if you want to mix with the local culture and be close to the metro, which can whisk you to the Mall of the Emirates in no time, then you can take a taxi to Jumeirah Beach if you wish, or wherever. Very reasonable, no frills, plain lobby -- we were ther 4 nights -- and very satisfied.

Apparently the Meridien chain bought just a cheap flat hotel in Deira and put their name on it. Because this hotel is nowhere close to the level of a Meridien. The apartments are nice, clean, the building was apparently renovated, kitchen is fitted with pans, cutlery, a small fridge and cooker. Your dishes are washed every day by the staff. Service, therefore is quite good.
(Just make sure you DO hand a do not disturb notice, or you risk being woken up at 9 am, to be asked if you want an issue of the English language local "The Gulf News" paper. Definitely not nice, considering you stayed out until 5 am. And make sure you DO hand a clean my bedroom notice, or they won't)
Apparently, most reasonably priced hotels in Dubai are in Deira. The problem with Deira is that when you want to be in Jumeirah almost every day, the 10 eur taxi ride start to hurt after the 3rd day. You can also walk to the brand new metro, but that means crossing the creek by boat under 30+ degrees and walk another 15 or so minutes to the station. This problem will be overcome soon, when the stations across the creek open, sometime in 2010.
Back to the hotel, there is no Wifi, just one PC at reception where you can surf the net for an expensive rate, or walk one block to the next internet café. No swimming pool, although you are allowed to use the one at the main Meridien near the airport. But if you need to jump on a taxi, why not go straight to the beach?
