“Excellent hotel”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Had not been to Dubai for around 5 years. Previously had visited every 6 months for around 5 years staying in either Le Royal Meridien or Grosvenor House. We were a bit apprehensive that the Ritz C wouldn't live up to our expectations or the standards of their competitors. We stayed in Club Room with access to Club Lounge. All I can say is that next time we visit Dubai we will come back to this hotel. Everything was superb and the staff were so friendly. It is also very close to the beach and loads of local restaurants. Great location. We were celebrating a special birthday and the staff tried to sneak in to our room with a bottle of bubbly not realising that we were sitting out on the balcony. Their faces were a picture when we opened the door and surprised them. Thanks Ritz Carlton for a great holiday.

Room Tip: The club deal us fantastic value for money

THE RITZ CARLTON DUBAI @ JUMERIAH BEACH
JUNE 26, 2014 LEAVE A COMMENT EDIT
DATE OF STAY: 17TH JULY TO 18TH JULY 2014

TYPE OF ROOM: 1 KING BED CLUB ROOM

CHECK-IN

Coming from DoubleTree By Hilton @ albarsha, i took a cab there straight to Ritz Carlton Dubai. The Hotel is located @ the Jumeriah Beach area where other luxury hotels are located. The entrance driveway to the lobby was very nice and made you feel like you are in another country. As i opened my door, Mr. Raj greeted me by my NAME! I was shocked and was also very happy with this service. I know that my 1 night stay here was going to be memorable.

I was shown to the Club floor at check-in as i had booked a 1 King Bed Club Room. As i arrived around 12pm, my room was not ready but i had no complaints as the Club floor was truly AWESOME. (I will talk more about the RC Dubai Club Floor at a later part of this post). I was served by this impressive waiter (Really forgot his name) but he is really nice. He took care of my “waiting time” until the room was ready. It took about 30 mins till i was able to check into my room but i was at no complains. Overall, my check in was GREAT

Room

The Bellboy (He was a Filipino i totally forgot his name too) brought my luggage and me to the room 445. When he opened up the door, JAWS JUST DROPPED! It was Amazingly huge and the decor is exquisite!

As i entered he room, what greeted me was the outstanding beautiful view i be looking at the just 1 night sadly. The room is at 50Sqm big that comes with a spacious balcony. Firstly, let’s talk about the bathroom. The bathroom is fully marble and has 2 vanity sinks (if i rmb erectly). The shower area is separated tuck away in the corner of the bathroom. Next to it is the toilet bowl area. One good thing about the bathroom is it’s glass “wall” where the huge uniquely design bathtub is being placed at. It looks like an Osim Massage Chair design i must say. Btw, it also has a tiny TV mounted on the way, so when you have your bubble bath, you can enjoy your shows at the same time. The overall layout of the bathroom is simple and spacious.

Now, the room is …. *Lost of words*. I had originally booked a King room but in the end was given 2 Queen Bed Room (no complaints). I slept on the bed that was next to the balcony. It was so so COMFORTABLE together with the huge pillows. The room also came with a 32″ LCD TV, an ample space work desk and i must say, the most COOLEST IT feature of the room is this little touchpad that controls the whole room (Curtains/Lights/AirCon/DnD sign/Housecleaning). So basically, you are totally pampered. Another interesting fact is if you were to open the balcony door, the AirCon will automatically be shut off (Awesome job on saving the Earth’s Environment).

As for the balcony, well i did my suntanning there. Overall, i’m truly impress of the room!!

Overall Rating: 10/10

Club Floor

The Ritz Carlton Club Floor is located on the 3rd just behind the Hotel’s main reception Lobby is. As you enter the Club Floor lounge, you are greeted with a huge Mediterranean concept. It makes you feel very homely at the same time. The view from the Club floor to is amazing beautiful. At the Club Floor, everything is provided .. well food and drinks wise i mean. Breakfast/Mini-Lunch/Dinner is served and you can have it In or Outside of the Club Lounge if you would like to mix with nature. I had everything here and well food Quality wise to me is quite alright. Thou i prefer if they would have more solid food rather than just small canapés. Overall, the club floor is what a Club Floor should be.

Overall Rating: 8/10

My Overall Thoughts: The Ritz Carlton Dubai has really met my standards. Its an awesome Beach City resort (thou faraway from the Main City), the service here is amazing too. They really made you feel at home and take care of your every needs. I regret staying here only for 1 night and definitely when I’m back i be here for at least 2 nights! Thanks RC Dubai for making my birthday stay an awesome one!

Overall Hotel Rating: 10/10

This is our second trip to the Ritz-Carlton JBR and once again we were not disappointed. The service levels provided at this hotel by all the staff are second to none. Each person we came into contact with went the extra mile to provide what we asked for and more. Cannot fault their enthusiasm and their ability to know what's required almost before it's needed. We introduced The Blue Jade restaurant to friends during our stay and they, like us found the food to be exceptional - and better still it is always consistent. Sushi-licious between 5.00 and 7.00pm daily is exceptional value for money. Why not give it a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed! This hotel is most definitely worth considering for your next trip.

Room Tip: There are two wings to this hotel. The old wing faces the children's pool and lazy river and th...

Terrific hotel. The welcome service is impressive. Awesome service. Good combination of beach and pools for resting, relaxation and playing. Nice selection of restaurants. Location makes it a short taxi ride to Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Mall of Emirates and more. Definitely would stay again.

Room Tip: 1st floor with easy access to pools and beach is best. Also has an outdoor patio.

We just got back from our first visit to Dubai, The Ritz Carlton was a fantastic hotel. We had two club rooms as we traveled with our two teenage children, the rooms were interconnected, we had a double and the kids had two queen beds, the rooms had their own lobby entrance and the keys opened the lobby door plus both bedroom doors which worked well, especially when the kids left their keys locked in their room! The club rooms were amazing, large comfy beds, a huge bath, rain shower and wonderful views. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and the club lounge staff were very attentive. Dubai is incredibly hot in August, so having the Club Lounge to escape the mid day sun and the evenings humidity was very welcome, drinks were free flowing and the food was very good. The swimming pools were cool and refreshing, unlike the sea which was far too warm!

Room Tip: Club rooms are large and with them you get access to the club lunge where you get breakfast, lunch...

I stayed during Ramadan so it was lovely and quiet and I got a great rate.
Wowza, incredible. The room was bigger than my London flat! Stunning bathroom and I didn;t want to leave the bed. The pool area is beautiful.
Even though this is clearly a large hotel it's feel European and boutique.. the gym is great too.
I wish I could travel in this style all the time.

Not having Free Wifi was a huge disappointment, not even in the lobby area. The Wifi strength can be abysmal at times. And we had to pay for it, regardless we still had issues with our connection. We were here during Ramadan so got a great price and the hotel was quite. We were celebrating an anniversary, so Christopher promised to "sort something special out for our room" but nothing appeared in the room on the day, nor any other day, much to our disappointment. Don't mention that you are going to do something to your guests and then not do it as we did not ask, although we mentioned it on our reservation booking and he brought it up. The Blue Jade Dining, was a lovely experience and saved our experience at the Ritz. Food was amazing, Raj the manager and Matteo went out of their way to do everything they could to please our every whim on a regular basis. And it was sad to say goodbye. The service was in keeping with the Ritz Carlton experience. La Baie Lounge was just very average for the Ritz and nothing spectacular. When it came to us tipping all staff, in areas of the hotel, staff would accept their tips openly and in others you have to be much more discreet due to the policy of the Marriot Group where they share tips with all staff. Most staff where more than happy to take the tips from us for themselves where one or two would insist on sharing. The hotel surroundings are pretty but the beach is not pretty nor private. This hotel has a lot work to do to meet certain standards, we did try to meet with the MD to talk about our experience but was blocked and even attempting to get a business card to write to him with suggestions and a complaint about a certain rude night supervisor but that proved very unsuccessful. Our future trips to Dubai wont result in further bookings at the Ritz Carlton. The Marriot Group seems to have damaged the Ritz name in this case.
