This is a truly enormous resort containing two hotels, villas, tons of restaurants, a souk and masses more. It's all linked together by an amazing waterway system so you can get everywhere you like by just hailing an Abra (water taxi). We stayed in the Mina A'Salam - a beautiful boutique hotel with views over the Burj Al'Arab.

The beach is truly exquisite - white sands, warm azure waters and amazingly attentive service. My room was just stunning too (see pics) and the staff were wonderful: very shy and respectful, but nothing was too much trouble.

A colleague found out the hard way that the drinks are VERY expensive (obviously Dubai doesn't have a drinking culture so this is to be expected) when she got charged a fortune for a small bottle of wine from the mini bar. I only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was utterly amazing, with everything you could possibly wish for. Take your breakfast outside to the terrace and watch the turtles swimming while you're there (just watch out for the birds!).

Families are well catered for here with a fabulous kids' club complex with all-day facilities should you wish to leave your little ones. Their attention to safety is amazing - we counted three lifeguards around the baby pool alone. They're also in the process of building a climbing wall and a kids' gym too. Adults gym is phenomenal with all sorts of specialist equipment. The small souk is also apparently worth a visit but again I didn't go myself.

Dying to go back with my family - a real holiday of a lifetime.

We stayed at Mina A Salam last week. The staff is extremely welcoming and very competent. Our room( a standard room) was perfect both inside and out. Our balcony view was of the Burj Al Arab less than 300meters away. In the evening we enjoyed the color light show on the Burj. This hotel has a perfect beach and pool, great shopping in their oun souk and magnificent grounds. We would certianly return to this Hotel.

It was our second time at Madinat Jumeirah over Christmas, and although the hotel is still fantastic for adults & kids alike (fairytale theme, tons of activities, great abra service, amazing choice of restaurants), we have noticed some serious issues with service, which should not be the case at these price levels.
The cast is still plentiful, and overall extremely helpful (especially poolside & kids club cast), but we have seen some cost cutting (no more kids buffet along poolside for lunch, no more VIP bracelets for direct entrance to Wild Wadi: although still free, we now have to queue with the rest of the dayvisitors to the park, which can be quite a lenghthy experience at Christmastime). Similarly, we have had to experience one REALLY bad service experience, on New Years Eve, when our reservation was messed up and we ended up with no seating available and no one to help us. All in all, we felt that in terms of concierge service and restaurant reservations, we were left alone with little advice and no personalized treatment, which is a real issue when the resort is full, and we are standing there with 2 small kids.

My rating is therefore still very good, because the hotel is a dream, but not as outstanding as it used to be, beacuse whan the hotel is full, the service is not where it should be.

My wife and 2 boys (5 and 9) staying in a deluxe room from 21 st Dec for 10 days. Although I have visited Dubai more than 10 times, it wa only the second trip for my wife. We had a wonderful experience, the highlights being. Service second to none. Breakfasts a great experience. Pools and beach facilities to die for. Connected restaurants first class. The attached Madinet Souk was superb. The array of cuisines and shopping magnificent. We were invited to a 'Meet the manager' cocktail party, held in the Magnolia room. OMG what' a party. The entire holiday was 10/10....as expected. Dubai gets better and better, don't believe those negative stories that find there way into publications and our dailies. Shiek Mohammed and his amazing government are a class act.

OMG - my husband I went here on our honeymoon, what's more romantic than having a boat take you to your room? oh wow, it was just so beautiful and the boats are 24/7 (free) and they take you around the hotel drop you off to restuarants. There is also a free 24/7 buggy service that takes you around the resort. The rooms were lovely, we had an ocean front room, and every morning it was just such a pretty sight!!!!

The food was again briliant, the breakfast was more than adequate and had so much variety. It was such a prestiegous hotel. Taxi's were easy to get outside the hotel.

Wadi water park was jooy good fun and very easy to get to. all you need is swimwear and nothing else!

We also went to the ski slope and do reccomend this!!! the safri was great had a lovely buffet and watched belly dancing, smoked some sheesha and got mendhi tattos....such a lovely evening, topped off with a short camel ride, and a 4x4 racing in the dessert!

we had dinner at the Burj - gentleman, be prepared - take a few credit cards! the food and service was great. Men - must wear closed shoes and suit attire and ladies must be fairly covered up, no sleevless and dresses above the knees.

generally Jumeriah beach was a delight, it has beds on the beach and pools are brilliant. Such a pleasent stay loved it all!!

dont forget to visit the gold sook and go out of Jumeriah beach to buy cheaper goods!!!

enjoy folks!

Room Tip: don't take many clothes, just swimwear, it's too hot to wear clothes) - don't travel whe...
