“nothing great”
Reviewed 13 July 2012

Stayed here for 6 nights but not highly impressed with the hotel, in past i have stayed in rotana and hyatt chains and they are far better then this one
Arrived at hotel was asked to wait for 2 hours before i can get my room, ok acceptable as i arrived 11 in morning but no proper area to sit and not even offered a glass of water...the receptionist was not friendly at all and was full of attitude...first informed me no breakfast in my booking..however with agoda the breakfast was included...i said thats fine, i will pay for breakfast and will claim my money from agoda for the breakfast...then after 10 mins, she said ok i checked with manager and breakfast will be free...

The area to go to room had long walk but they provide golf cart but thats normally one way when you are going to your room...when coming to lobby you normally have to walk all the way...esp in summers its difficult due to hot weather...

i booked a suite, which was small in size then expected...room was very very small that there was no space to walk...lounge area was ok in size but not very big...bathroom was decent size...AC system was impressive and we use to feel cold after few hours in room

The overall staff was very rude...all had attitude in them...esp security and people at reception...it seems they didnt know how to smile or greet customers...i assume this is coming from the top...if your head management had attitude then all other staff with follow the same

hotel had nice view and restaurant, however it gets over crowded at night due to club and sometimes they do not even allow your taxi to enter the hotel, you have to get on the road and walk inside the hotel

The breakfast was not impressive, same menu every day and very basic items on the buffet.....
my son was not well so didnt come for breakfast once and we just tried to take one box of yogurt for him which probably didnt even cost 1 dhiram and the manager stopped us saying its not allowed and you should bring child here...

my overall experience was not good at all and i will not be staying in this hotel again for sure...

if i pay extra money i prefer the best from the hotel, but dubai marine beach resort was not upto my expectation

Room Tip: if you like attitude even after paying....its the best for you

Faced racism at this hotel. On Wed, June 4, 2012 evening I tried to visit one of the hotel clubs - Malecon. I invited a few business guests of mine, of Indian origin, from Dubai (1 man and 2 ladies). We were stopped by the bouncers asking us whether we had reservation. When I told them that I am staying at the hotel, they asked me to go back to the reception and ask the receptionist to call. I found this quite amazing given that I showed them my room keys. I met the hotel manager to complain and the manager said that the real reason the bouncers stopped us was because of our footwear - which then on inspection he said was fine. So, first it was reservation and then it changed to footwear. They could not really find a real reason other than probably our skin color. We moved on but this really left me thinking. I was quite embarassed and humiliated in front of my guests.

This hotel is wonderful. The customer service is great. The restaurants that are on site are amazing, especially the Lebanese restaurant. There are many pools to swim in, and the bar out by the ocean is wonderful!!! We booked a Jr. suite and it was really nice, minus the fact it didnt have a fridge or coffee pot or microwave. There are no rooms that overlook the water in this hotel, but the view of the tropical landscape was wonderful. It is caddy corner to a mosque and every morning at 4am you can slightly hear the call to prayer. I thought it was pretty actually. We did take advantage of the spa facility also and it was wonderful. There are always a lot of cab drivers waiting outside of the hotel so you will never have to hail a cab. There are a lot of little shops around the hotel and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. There is some beach access at the hotel but at dusk they do block it off to no one can access it. I guess to keep the drunks out of the water since the beachside bar is right there. Room service was wonderful and we always had fresh fruit in our room along with bottled water. There isnt anything outside of swimming for the young kids to do at this hotel, but if you are on vacation from the kids this place is great. If we were going to travel to Dubai again (and I hope we do) yes we would stay here again.

Room Tip: There are no beach front rooms, but there are no bad rooms in this place. It is a very tropical sett...

Please be careful before you reserve in this hotel. This hotel has nice greenery bad absolutely terrible customer service. We called asked for bottles of water at 7 P.M. we didn't get any, we called back around 8:00 they told us they will send someone right away and he finally arrived at 11:30 P.M when we were already asleep. The blankets were dirty, the staff were rude, as if we were staying at their personal house. At night the hotels switches to a night club with cheap dirty prostitutes all over the place. The only ones being respected and treated properly in this hotel are the prostitutes. Rooms are extremely small, bathroom size, the size of the beds are only good for infants.

The greenery is the only pretty thing in this hotel, however since it was hot and there was greenery and water fountains which is a nice place for mosquitoes and bugs.

This resort is not family friendly. Not suitable for kids, I would probably rate it XXX.

Room Tip: Tips Don't waste your money in this hotel

This hotel is built like a bungalow resort, you're being picked up in a golf cart driven to your villa. You have all amenities within the resort, twelve restaurants for different tastes. Make sure you'll have a Thai massage under the habana on the beach. Make sure to visit the Japanese restaurant unbelievably good food! I would definitely go back here before any of the other hotels I have stayed at in Dubai!

Being from the Caribbean myself at times I would forget I was in the desert and not on an island., That's how it feels when your lounging on a oversized bean bag on the beach with a drink in one hand the hookah hose on the other overlooking the water.
Rooms were huge, clubs and bars were great. Do bring your suit or dress though, atleast thats how the locals pulling up in the Ferrari's and Lambo's dress, (plus it's required to get in)
