The Grand Hyatt Dubai is among the most impressive hotels I've ever stayed in. Sure, the property is luxurious -- you're certainly paying for that. But there are plenty of beautiful hotels. What made this Hyatt stand out was it's very helpful staff. I simply can't say enough good things about them -- whether it was the driver to and from the airport, the concierge, the front desk, the club level staff -- all were terrific. (And the club level happy hour was perfect in every way.)

This is what you want from a top tier hotel.

Room Tip: If possible, get a room with a view of the Dubai skyline. It's an amazing view of the world'...

This was our 4 stay at the Grand Hyatt. We've been before in December, January and November but never in September - wow it was hot! However, our experience of the hotel, staff and facilities were just as good.
Our flight arrived early and we got to the Hyatt at 9.30am which is about 6 hours ahead of the earliest check in. However, the receptionist sat us down for a cup of tea and said he would do what he could to get us into our room quickly. Within 20 mins we were told that our room was ready and our bags were already in situ! What a great start, showered and refreshed within the hour our first trip was to the pool and some lunch. A return to our room at 2.30pm showed that it had been recleaned, fresh towels etc.and ready for an afternoon siesta.
A great selection of resturants within the hotel, good service and to be fair not too expensive. If you like a bottle of wine - beware - it is expensive. in fact a bottle of wine near enough doubles your bill - but you pays your money .................
My wife and I are not that bothered about a beach resort so the Grand Hyatt is ideal for us and very near to most of the Malls - try the new mono rail its great, calls at most of the Malls and puts the efforts of the UK to shame - clean, air conditioned and on time.
I can thoroughly reccomend the Grand Hyatt - no down sides apart from the fact that your time passes too quickly.

I stayed 1 night for anniversary . I want to thanks HYATT GRAND. They upgrade my room from standard grand to Greek Grand. The difference between them is view. the size of room is to big approx 44sqm, the hotel is recommended for couple and family , they have big garden and swimming pool. The location is very good. It is closed to Grand Cinema and near to Wafi center. The lobby of hotel is very big and there are big garden in the lobby

Room Tip: Greek side and high floor. garden view are lovely

This, like most places in Dubai, is luxurious and gorgeous, with marble and gold gracing the lobby and most other areas of the hotel. I found the service to be excellent in general for a business travel EXCEPT that they do not have wireless internet. When did you stay there, 1998, you say? Nope, 2011. With so many people having iPads, etc., not having wireless is inexcusable.

Otherwise the only complaint would be it's not in the most central location, but again it's a beautiful place with generally good service, and I'd stay there again if traveling on business IF they get wireless installed.

Spent 4 nights. All rooms are well appointed. While the Creekside rooms have the best view, you have to endure the sound of departing planes all night. DXB is within eyesight from the higher floors and they depart all night long. Great gym. Nice pool. Lots of restaurants. The atrium is wild. Most expensive Koi pond you will ever see.

Room Tip: City view is the quiet side.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel for the first time as part of a corporate event but were quite familiar with it during the years we spent in Dubai. The first obstacle was the check-in. We arrived to the hotel in a relatively old car but had to actually ask the porters to help us unload our luggage because apparently, they're not used to serving anyone who drives a car costing less than 50,000 USD! There were 4 employees at the reception desk serving only 3 guests but we had to wait for the staff to give us their attention. The lady at the reception seemed to be bothered by our 'inconvenience' and immediately asked for our passports before she would even listen to our names. While she insisted on the passports before even looking up the reservation, the word 'PLEASE' never came up. The reservation was in my spouse's name, so after we handed her the passports, she insisted that my wife was checked-in with someone called 'Pamela', while our copy of the reservation mentioned both our names. After 10 minutes of arguing and humiliation, another reception staff member came and listened to our side of the conversation, upon which he found the correct reservation in the system. His colleague, after discovering her mistake, finally agreed to handed us the key cards to our room. 'SORRY' you'd think she'd say? None of that!!! Outraged, we called the organizer of the event and complained, upon which we received a call from the front desk manager shortly after, who apologized and sent us a nice box of fine chocolates from the hotel's own confiserie. It took the porters 30 minutes to bring our luggage to the room, knowing that the hotel wasn't particularly busy at the time. Our room was freezing cold and the temperature setting did not have any effect, so we called the front desk, who promised a maintenance technician within 10 minutes. Almost 2 hours and 3 calls later, the technician finally shows up and resets the A/C control.
The breakfast buffet offering was quite good but not excellent. There was a dedicated station for all sorts of fresh egg variations with 2 chefs, which was disastrously organized. It took them 20 minutes to prepare my simple ommelette, and they managed to get the order wrong. This was no one-off, because the same thing happened the following day. Same tragedy at the freshly baked pita bread station. If you want pita bread, you have to wait 10 minutes or more for 1 small bread. Why you can't also have commercially made pita bread at the buffet is beyond me.
Room service was, at best, average and hugely inconsistent. On the second day, we had only one set of towels in the bathroom. The next day, both sets were there but we were "punished" by not having any soap or shampoo replenishment. Adding insult to injury, we observed how the fruits in the complementary fruit basket which we received on our first day were mysteriously 'disappearing' on a daily basis...
Despite a hefty room rate, even with the corporate package, internet WiFi had to be paid extra (30 USD / day!!!). For that amount though, you can only connect ONE device. If you try to connect later with a different device, you simply cannot because the connection logs your device's MAC address. If you still wish to connect with another device, you'll have to ask them to cancel the subscription for the first device and make a new one - for another 30 USD. No refund. Because my wife first logged in with her laptop and its battery died with no charger at hand, we had to pay 60 USD for 1 day's worth of internet access, which was also far from being decently quick...
I could go on endlessly about all the other little things that made our stay quite unpleasant overall. The bottom line is, this hotel may well deserve 4 or even 5 stars for its amenities but when you check into such an expensive hotel, you're not only paying for amenities. You expect excellent service and this is a fact this hotel's management is apparently not aware of.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights - stopover back from the Maldives. We enjoyed the sheer luxury of this hotel. Luxurious even for Dubai. It is less ostentatious than the Burj al Arab (had dinner at the restaurant over there so we visited the hotel), but in my opinion, better taste. The best features are the gym, swimming pool areas (both indoor and outdoors), the daily breakfast / brunch is to die for - they can make anything you want. They have tennis courts but we visited in May and the temperatures were already scorching. Location is good - close to the airport and to the old city, Dubai creek which means a little far to the Mall of the Emirates, Atlantis etc. Depends what you want to do while in Dubai. We would definetely go back to this hotel.
