I was very pleased to be dropped here in our mercedes transfer from the airport. We met the man at the front counter, who was very helpful. Our room was extremely spacious with very modern decor. The bathroom was extravagant (just how I like it) with a separate walk in shower, a large bath, a separate toilet and bidet and white fluffy gowns and slippers. Our view was lovely also. Breakfast was a large choice of foods from around the globe and service was prompt.

I must confess I'm usually wary of large hotels - the sheer number or rooms and turnover of guests usually means that attention to detail slips and the sense of being a valued guest gets diluted by the sheer weight of numbers.

And everything about this hotel is vast. The lobby is like a stadium, the room like a suite and I suspect that the breakfast buffet, laid end to end, would reach all the way to India. And yet, I felt like a personal guest of the hotel all the way through. The staff are to thank for this. There were always plenty of staff on hand to look after your every need, from arrivals to check in, turn-down services to the spa guys. And crucially, whenever you meet one, be it in the lobby, the bar, or just walking down the corridor, they'll discreetly say hello and check that you're enjoying your stay. That's what marks out the great hotel from the 'just' very good.

And this place is grand. The rooms are simply enormous, bathrooms the stuff of dreams - even the walk in cupboard is done well. Breakfast is sumptuous - everything you could possibly want is here, presented perfectly, to be consumed to your stomach's content. But the highlight for me were the grounds. An idyll in the desert with winding paths, gurgling brooks, manicured lawns and flowerbeds with birds swooping from tree to tree. And nestled in the middle, a wonderful pool complex, where loungers await and staff inundate you with fresh towels.

Overall, perhaps the Grandest hotel I've ever stayed in, that maintains the personal touch despite the size. Very impressive.

Two notes: one good, one cautionary.
1. I was initially outraged by the charge for internet service - but turns out it's free - black mark erased.
2. The prices are on the steep side, but there you are - the price of Grandeur, I guess.

One of the TOP 5 Hotels in Dubai. Excellent environment, facilities and service.Amazing Room View (a whole side of the room is a window to the city of DUbai).A breakfast buffet you will remember! You can find everything including tuna and salmon but also dragon fruits and 5 fresh juices every day! Very close (10 minutes walk) from the WAFI Mall and the Metro Station. Only negative is the absence of free internet. Nice pool facilities (didn't visit the Spa).

The hotel definitely lives upto it's name and most certainly exceeded our expectations. When we arrived there were no non-smoking rooms available and we were told that there would be an hour wait until one was ready, but they offered us a smoking room, this was only temporary, so that we could get a shower etc and chill out until our non-smoking room was ready rather than wait in the lobby area...:)

The room was ready after an hour and we weren't let down, the room was very spacious and the bathroom was impressive!!! The shower was really big as was the bath (although we didn't use the bath as the shower was so good) .... The toilet and bidet had its own little room which was in the bathroom but separate to the double sinks..

The room was cleaned twice daily (change of towels twice a day) and shower gels were provided even before they were anywhere near empty :) ... You could call for maid service at any point and they would come to clean your room ASAP ....

We ordered room service on the first night and it was lovely, the staff are very friendly and cheerful. Every other night we ate either in the hotel or went out. There is an excellent choice of restaurants in the hotel, we tried 2 of them which were both fantastic..

The pool area was immaculate and beds were extremely comfortable as towel pillows are provided on every bed... We weren't up early every morning and there were still always beds available by the time we got out to sunbathe. The main pool is very big and the temperature wasn't freezing but cold enough to cool you down!!... There is a children's area and children's pool which looked good but we didn't experience any of this as we don't have any children. The staff around the pool were always really helpful, they brought ice towels to put on your head to cool you down regularly throughout the day and the service from the pool bar was always excellent. The indoor pool also looked fantastic but we prefer the sun so did not use this pool. Gym facilities also looked really good.

The location of the hotel isn't that great but we found taxis to be really cheap, so got taxi's to the shopping mall, Atlantis etc so this was not a problem. The price of food and drink is expensive (but as expected) so we think it's a sensible idea to go half board next time we visit.

Breakfast had everything you could possibly want and was definitely 5*

10 out of 10 holiday and hotel!!! We are already planning to go back and would definitely reccomend !! :)

The Grand Hyatt is certainly a 'grand' hotel as we discovered on a recent (wonderful) stay. The hotel far exceeded our expectations: our room was large and airy - as was the bathroom - and towels and linens were changed frequently. All staff were exceptional - always cheerful, friendly and accommodating and there was an excellent choice of restaurants - although being half-board we were restricted to just four. The downside was the fact that the menu for half-board is also quite restricted and staff did not seem 'clued up' on the arrangements for guests on half-board. However, the food was excellent - and staff, as always helpful and friendly. The outdoor pool was very large but having a 20 metre indoor pool was a bonus, particularly if it gets too hot outside! Drinks were, of course, expensive but we find this commonplace in most hotels wherever you stay. Although not on the beach, we found this hotel to be in a good location. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Upgrade your room from the basic if you can.
