“Not bad, but you expect more from a 5 STAR IN DUBAI”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

I went to Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort to spend the New Year's eye with my family. We arrive at night around 10PM and the first message from the reception was that our rooms were not ready and the category we booked wasn't the one given to us. After ruining our arrival, I ask to see the manager on duty. Few minutes after the supposed manager came out and told me to do not worry. After minutes and minutes of waiting to know what happened with our rooms (which were booked 6 months ago) they gave us the correct room. I have to say that no-one asked us to sit and offer a drink while we were waiting.
Second chapter: we arrived to the rooms and we had to call to the front office because our bags were not in the room half an hour before. They said they had lost our bags but "they will look to find the bags", thank you very much....

To sum up, new year's eve was good but very very very expensive and the organization in the hotel was just aweful. The service at the gala dinner was outstanding.

The hotel has been hidden with the new constructions around it and you haven't any sun in the pool from 13/14 PM.

I would not come back to this hotel..

Traditional Hilton quality with an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff all over the property. Strongest points are the guarded beach with ample umbrellas and sunbeds, good kitchen, comfy rooms. The pool and deck could be somewhat larger.

We stayed here from the 28th March through to the 4th April and had an excellent time. The staff are all very courteous and will go out of their way to help you, check in was quick.

We stayed in room 521 and had a sea view which was overlooking the pool area, we found the room spotlessly clean.

Restaurants were fine and again the staff in here were super quick to get you drinks and anything else, we ate in the Oceana restaurant which serves breakfast and an evening buffet. We also ate in Pachanga which serves excellent meat dishes and the executive lounge which we had paid for at the time of booking. Studio one bar located just off the lobby was also excellent, great staff and the takeaway pizzas are perfect.

The bar on the beach was our favorite, the staff are so friendly, football was on most evenings but half the time the sound is turned down and they play music.

Location was great, just on the walk. Like others have said this is a busy area of Dubai where all the locals like to go and show off with their fancy cars especially on Friday evenings, Porches, Ferrari's, Lamborghini, Bentley's you see everything in Dubai.

Construction is around the hotel on both sides. opposite side to us they had completed a shopping area and some of the shops are yet to open, you only hear noise from this when you walk around the area. The side we stayed on has a car park next door and a load of cranes building something opposite, noise was kept to a minimum and to be honest we didn't really notice. It also kept me amused watching the guys driving the cranes. I didn't hear anyone complaining about noise during our stay. You need to understand Dubai isn't finished yet and there's cranes everywhere.

The hotel operate a number of Taxi's themselves, BMWs and Audis and they all charge a set fee for the journey you want to take, we found this was always 75 AED so we stopped using this service and settled for local taxis which were sometimes 50% less, they are also metered. The local taxi's may not be as flash but they get you to the same location. There was always plenty of taxis available whenever we wanted one.

The only criticism of the hotel would be the Wifi which is chargeable at 100 AED a day. You can get free wifi in the lobby but in your room you have to pay, for a chain the size of Hilton I would have expected free wifi across the resort.

Overall an excellent stay I would definitely stay here again.

We were in Dubai, me and my husband in May 2013. The hotel is located near an area called "the walk", it's a crowded area, with a street full of small restaurants, coffee shops and other hotels .
If you're visiting Dubai for tourism, the location is good, it's close to the palm, Dubai Marina, and not very far from Burj El Arab.
Dubai mall is 20-30 minutes by car, the mall of Emirates is 15 minutes by car.
So the location is good if you're visiting for tourism, but you will definitely need a car.
We had a car that we rented at the airport, and it was a very good idea to do that.
The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean but the furniture and the finishing look like a hotel from 90s if not older.
We chose the hotel because we had a good experience with Hilton Chicago in 2009, we expected to see something similar, but we were a little bit disappointed.

In summary, the hotel is clean but old, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are spacey, the bed mattress is good, the sheets are clean. They have a nice sea view from most of their rooms, this view is very relaxing especially if you sit their to have your morning coffee. The location is good for tourism, but you would definitely need a car to reach the other attractions from this location.
We advise you if you decide to visit Dubai to rent a car from the airport. Plan a Friday brunch at Madina Al Salam in Al Qasr Hotel, it's expensive, 100 USD per person but we think it's worth it. Visit Burj Al Arab, you can go there and have a cup of tea and not more because it is expensive. Visit Atlantis. Plan a breakfast at Zaabeel Hotel, order Creme brule for desert. Marina is wonderful at night, if you go there, ask the waiter of any restaurant to stamp your parking ticket, because parking is free. Don't miss seeing the fountains in front of Dubai Mall, especially at night. You can either watch them from a restaurant in souk al bahar or take a tour by boat at the time of the show. Souk El Bahar is a nice shopping souk it is a must see.
Remember that most restaurants in Dubai need reservation, especially Burj El Arab, Burj Khalifa, madinat Al Salam. Things in Dubai are 1.3 times more expensive than the United States.

I had a very pleasant stay with the help of Hakan at the reception who was taking care of customer expectations on an usual high level. He helped me at the guidance also about the city and my stay ended with an excellent view of my room.

Room Tip: Prefer rooms on the right side& high floors when you are facing the sea.

Staid here for a week. Excellent rooms with an excellent view. The food was pretty amazing and was one of the things I enjoyed the most here.

However, there's also a great pool and you have access to a private beach (may be partially public by now). During the summer they even showed soccer on a huge movie screen directly at the beach.

The hotel beds are really comfy and the hotel staff was very friendly.

All in all, it's exactly what you would expect from this type of Hotel group.

Also, the beach was never filled with too many people so you could relax there just fine. The service obviously was also excellent and they will get you anything need.
