“WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

Stayed for 10 nights at the Palace in room 517. Wonderful experience from start to finish. Your every need was catered for. The staff were so attentive and surpassed themselves in service and curtesy. As this was a special occasion I recieved a beautiful bouguet of roses . The private beach is great the sea so warm and inviting and glasses of water are brought round to you at regular intervals in the 40 degree heat..The grounds are beautiful with birds tweeting and at night the hotel is lit with twinkling lights that remind you of a fairytale. Drinks at mealtimes are expensive even bottles of water that mount up at the end of the holiday even if your meal option is half board. but there is a local supermarket a short taxi ride away where you can buy non alcoholic drinks. Fresh fruit is deliverd to your room and I found this enough to snack on at lunchtime. The room is lovely and the long soft pillows are so comfortable. Fresh water is also delivered to your room.As our flight was early morning to return we were given complimentary room service of hot croissants toast , preserves and fresh coffee beautifully served. The concierge arranged an early morning call and every other detail I asked them to , very efficient and caring. My thanks to all the staff for helping to make my stay so memorable.

Amazing hotel, from the moment you step in, they make you feel the most welcome and cant do enough for you!! even carry the butter to the table!
Staff are friendly, nothing is to much trouble!!
Restaurants are all lovely, especially the Nina restaurant in the Arabian Court, food is delicious!!
Rooms are spacious, clean- you even receive night service which clean up through out the day.
They will call you in the evening, to see if any room service is needed, tidy up all your belongings and put fresh bottles of water in the room every day
The pool service is 5*, clean towels, ice water re filled every 10 mins, cold towels, sunglasses cleaned, amazing!!
Defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone, good value for money, you are treated like royalty, and the service is amazing!!

The One & Only Royal Mirage Palace Hotel is one of the top establishments in Dubai. It is located near Palm Jumeirah and within walking distance (10 – 15 minutes) to the ever so impressive Dubai Marina.

The cavernous and tastefully decorated lobby is more impressive than even the Burj Al Arab and the extensive grounds with swimming pools and access to private beach make it an ideal location for a relaxing stay.

The structure is only five storeys high so it spreads over a considerable distance thus the rooms numbered below 20 save you a lot of walking.

There is an excellent Olives buffet restaurant and a fairly average Moroccan one. The buffet breakfast is extensive and tasteful.

If you are staying in the suite you will also have reserved one of the gazebos located in prime areas around the pool, as if to re-emphasise the class divide within the hotel. I would imagine in the high season the rest of the guests are left looking all around for reasonable lounges – we managed to grab the last one available and that was in August! Hence expect to get up early to book your spot.

Unfortunately, the staff, although very friendly and often smiling, appear a little under-trained. The Customer Relations or Concierge seem to have a very limited knowledge of the city, taxi prices and dress requirements. They have an obvious preference for (much more expensive) Lexus taxis and one of many faux pas was their advice to wear jacket and tie to the afternoon tea at the Burj Al Arab – luckily, I relied on my common sense here and dressed down a bit from that recommendation (a very correct decision that too).

Sadly, the reception desk staff, usually a beacon of excellence in most hotels, is not much better: confusion and lack of co-ordination reigned supreme there. Deliveries went missing, morning calls did not materialise, luggage didn’t get picked up, general knowledge of the hotel was lacking etc.

The bar staff looked overwhelmed every time there were more than two tables occupied.

All in all this is a splendid hotel and with a little bit more investment in people has a great potential.

Room Tip: Try to request room numbered below 20 on relevant floor

This was our fourth stay in this hotel and the service is still the high, friendly standard that we have come to expect.

We paid a little extra and had a Club room so that we could use all the facilities that go with it - free soft drinks, afternoon tea between 3-6 with sandwiches and cake, happy hour from 6-8 with free drinks. You can also have a light breakfast there too in the mornings but we never did this. It also has it's own reception where they are very helpful and will book your dinner reservations, sort out tickets for Aquaventure at Atlantis and help with any queries or problems that you may have.

Our room was lovely as always and cleaned promptly in the mornings after we left for the pool. It has a hair dryer, safe, fridge but not too much room to get things in it. You can get an iron and ironing board if you need one.

The hotel is made up of three hotels, The Palace, Residence and Spa and The Arabian Court. The Residence and Spa is very exclusive so we didn't go there but they do have a restaurant you can use. At The Palace they have 4 restaurants, Olives which is buffet for breakfast and dinner, Tagine which is Morrocan, Beach Bar and Grill which do the best steaks ever and Celebrities which is also breakfast and dinner - children have to be over 8 to eat here in the evening, breakfast is a la carte.

At the Arabian Court they have The Rottisary which is buffet (we found this very disappointing this year, service and food very average), Ninas which is Indian and very yummy and Eau Zone which is also very nice. Each restaurant has a children's menu and it is the same menu in most of the restaurants and has the normal cheeseburger, hot dog, fish, all with fries!! It also has 3 choices of pasta. A fairly decent choice overall.

As for the pool, it is the largest pool we've ever been to. Even if the hotel is busy, the pool is never crowded. The service around the pool is great. Cold water is provided and topped up regularly, your sunglasses cleaned and plenty of pool staff around to order drinks from the bar. There is also a children's club that is open morning, afternoon and evening. When the children sign up they get a little backpack with at shirt and cap. It is free to sign up.

The hotel provide a free shuttle bus to The Mall of the Emirates and Atlantis daily. There is also a free boat shuttle over to the One&Only on The Palm. We did go over to this hotel and have a meal in one of the restaurants. It was a very good experience, once the boat drops you off, a golf buggy takes you to the main hotel. The service was very good and you can have a wander around the hotel. We went over in the evening.

If you are half board you get an allowance towards your meals unless you eat from the half board menu, then all you pay for are your drinks. At the buffet restaurants, the allowance covers the whole meal so you just pay for drinks, including water. Ask for a bottle of the local water, it's much cheaper and bigger! Your allowance can also be used for room service and you get 25% discount if you eat at The Palm.

I hope its review is helpful. You will have a great time. There are lots and lots of friendly, helpful staff and should you have a problem, I feel confident they would do all they could to help.

Love, love, love this hotel.

Start with the worst .... absolutely nothing to do the hotel but with a group of families from Essex who epitomise everything which is bad about england. We stayed gold club thinking this would provide a quieter experience, how wrong i was. They took over the lounge at 3pm for afternoon tea as well as 6pm for cocktail / canapes - meaning there was no room for the rest of us.

Now the rant over - other than that faultless. Staff polite and caring, Room Spotless, Service superb. Food delicious. Need i go on

It was also our silver wedding anniversary when we were there and the efforts the hotel were very much appreciated. A big personal thank you again

A couple of minor comments
Room 448 has no view other than palm trees
I know pillows are a personal thing but i did request firm pillows but they werent that firm
Gold club - please reinforce the rules about no swimming shorts etc

Keep up the good work and and I'll be back

Room Tip: Avoid room 448

The royal mirage was a truly wonderful place to stay with such amazing service. We would rarely consider going back to a hotel again, we would rather experience other places however on this occasion I do not think that anywhere else would surpass it. We had dinner a couple of nights at the palm one and only, which was beautiful but felt The Mirage was situated in a much better location. We cannot wait to return. Especially to see Micky and the other staff in the gold room lounge!!
