We had the evening meal at the top which was fab. Staff were friendly and made us feel really welcome. Well worth going.

“Not cheap but unmissable”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Hold back on asking for more sandwiches otherwise you'll be too full to enjoy the sweats. Views & service were beyond my expectations

“A bit of a dissapointment”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

I am not in the financial position to stay at The Burj Al Arab but whilst it is visually stunning it is not quite like you see the photos of it. It is actually in the middle of a building site at the moment and so for poor tourists who go to look at it the stunning photos you have seen of it are not like the real thing.

“Afternoon Tea: disappointing...”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

The afternoon tea at Burj Al Arab hotel trades on the mystique attached to the place, in our opinion quite undeserved. We were only impressed by the hotel's huge atrium and the outside design of the building. If you really want to see the jaw-dropping opulence and no-expense-spared architectural marvel you’d be better visiting the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The décor at the Skyview Bar is pretty unremarkable and the seats along the inner curved sofa slightly uncomfortable and not individual enough. Combine the lack of view with the sofa seat and then you may want to question whether that UAE 600 was the money well spent.

Without the panorama afforded to the window seats there is nothing really unique about this venue and, ideally, inner seats should be priced at a discounted rate. You can get a window seat (these are allocated on the first-come-first-served basis) but to make sure be there up to one hour before your allocated time.

In any case, the whole area of Dubai seems to be permanently enveloped in desert haze so even the views are not that clear.

The canapés are rather average though originally presented and quite plentiful. Don’t get suckered into buying another glass of champagne for you will quickly inflate the cost of the visit before you even notice.

The staff serving the food are extremely courteous and helpful.

Overall, an attraction to be missed if you are on a budget or with limited time on your hands.

“Ultimate Afternoon Tea”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

This was a very special experience, we were treated to the ultimate Afternoon Tea, a bit pricey but well worth it just to see how the other half live. There are various course to the menu, at least six courses. You start off with a glass of Champagne and strawberry shortcake, then progress on to the other various courses. The whole Afternoon tea lasts about two and a half hours And was an amazing one and not to be missed if your looking for that something special to do. While we were there it was my husbands Birthday, and they presented him with a lovely Birthday Chocolate Cheesecake, which was a very nice touch. You are welcome to walk round the foyer of the hotel, so remember to take your camera.
