“Perfect Hotel”
Reviewed 2 June 2013 via mobile

I recently stayed at this property during a work trip. Stayed for 5 nights. Rooms were huge! Amazing bathrooms and beds.
The hotel staff were very helpfull.

The hotel is only a couple of months old so everything is new. The location is Buisness bay which is still under construction. Taxis from the hotel are very cheap.

Overall my stay was great

I was here on business and two of my young adult children were here for tag a long fun. They've traveled with me all their lives to many places around the world.

We all agreed this place was nice. The buildings (two towers) are iconic. The décor inside very nice-muted elegance; earth tones and golds prevailed.

The lobby is unique. There are no chairs in the actual foyer which put me off a bit at first. but just adjacent is an extension of the lobby with a large lounge area chairs and booths as well as a place to order drinks or snacks. I actual came to like this as a clever, out of the box idea.

The bathroom was great with a huge soaking tub and an abundant nice hot water. There is a separate walk in shower as well as a separate toilet area with bidet.

The services were good. Room service food was great!. They let you know that it takes about 30-40 minutes-worth it because the food is all the right temperature when it gets there.

Our only negative was that the company who booked this for us paid for breakfast inclusive and we were not told that at check in so we missed the breakfasts!. It was on the company memo, at the bottom of an e-mail was sent after I left the U.S.

All in all the three of us highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay again

Being only 8 months old, the service was seamless. My wife and I are Hoteliers ourselves and tend to look for flaus by default whenever we travel. At JW Marriott Marquis, it was difficult to find one. For the volume it has in offer, the product and the services are good. The hotel has a good modern deco, with some fantastic F&B venues.
Welome in the lobby is warm, an energetic group of Concierge Team Members, who are continuously busy handling the traffic and assiting guests, but they dont miss to acknowledge you, assist you and pass on a genuine smile. The lobby Guest Relations are courteous and always ready to assist. The check in experience was great, I dont remember the name of the FDA (Bilal or similar), but he very quickly analyzed our requirements and successfully upsold us to one of the Club Rooms on 64th Floor. It was a good decision and I would recommend the rooms and Services on the CLub Floors.
Rooms are well appointed, good quality in room amenities, thoughtful layout and placing of products and amenties. Walk in wardrobe, bath amenities, bathroom layout, Illy machine, were all added value.
Executive Lounge is one of the best we have visited, and we do travel a lot and have seen many good hotels. The quality of the food and beverages during the Breakfast and Evening Cocktails is maintained at a high level.
F&B options are many. It was a pity that we were there only for 2 nights and had shopping plans, but we did manage to go to The Vault, Velocity, La Farine (if I remember correctly), Executive Lounge, and we ordered Room Service. We still need to visit The Cork, Steakhouse, The Indian Restaurant, The Japanese Restaurant, Thai Restaurant and the Newly opened Arabic Restaurant. We will definitely be back.
We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and families.

Room Tip: Pay extra, take the Club Room, its a definite value for money.

We first visited the hotel during their soft opening earlier this year and were now back after the official opening.

Overall our stay was close to perfect. The 'welcome back' was impressive and we received friendly remarks from among others, the bell boy, waiters in the restaurants as well as management.

The hotel, although some people mention it is in the middle of no where, is in the Business Bay area and it offers a free shuttle to the Dubai Mall (10 AM - 10PM, 3* per hour) and an hourly shuttle to the Mall of Emirates and a Beach Club. Furthermore taxi's are very very cheap.

Compared to last time, except for the Italian place, all restaurants were now open and they all offer a unique experience but excellent food. In case you desire so, there is no need to leave the hotel at night and you can have different dining experiences for more than a week.

The rooms also had minor improvements (e.g. mirror for the ladies), but offer all amenities you need. The rain shower is very nice and the bed is excellent.

The two remarks I would make are related to the beds at the swimming pool and the speed of the elevators, but have been told this will be improved over the next couple of weeks.

Overall an excellent stay and my wife and myself will certainly be repeaters!

Room Tip: High floor rooms offer the best value - it is a stunning view to wake up one morning and to see that...

First stop over in Dubai, this hotel was recommended by a colleague and i was not disappointed, it was in a great place, lobby and rooms were fantastic, staff extremely friendly, i did not use the pool or fitness centre, having a drink in the bar was a great experience

Room Tip: Ask what floors and views are available, but hard not to get a good view.

Unlike many other reviewers- I did not like this hotel and think it has opened way too soon. It is defacto isolated and in the middle of a construction site with nothing immediately around... As warned by hotel staff- roads and pavements around it are not finished so you cannot walk anywhere- fine if you want to rely on taxis and their shopping centre shuttle...

When you enter the lobby- the first impression is it is BIG- too big and no character..
Staff- ummm, jury is out as exec floor level- excellent to pretty poor elsewhere including the front desk...

Lifts- ummm, not exactly a great feeling- and you can feel dizzy (in my case) and nauseous (several guys I spoke to)... also frustrating as with the high tech in this hotel, if you do not get your card activated fast and your level is not recognised, you are off to the very bottom or top (reportedly the tallest hotel in the world so ultra annoying..).

Talking of high tech- frustrating.. why not have simple user friendly switches in the rooms? and if the system goes wrong- a fiasco predicted...everything here seems to be done for show...

The rooms, which are large and well decorated and great coffee machines, either face on to the wasteland at the back or to the sea- but the sea facing ones are quite dark due to bizarre covered balconies that stupidly you are not allowed to use...poor design and daft rules not allowing you to sit on your own balcony...! I would be far more worried re potential fires as they have bars and restaurants on the upper floors and I cannot see how they could evacuate in an emergency...

The exec level is impressive with a good range of food and drink and excellent staff- but massive- too big.. a huge variety of restaurants- but do they really need so many?

Pool area- a disaster and ultra bad design bearing in mind the size of the hotel and that there is really nothing to do but swim and sunbathe in dubai when/if not working. Very small and hardly any space. Forget trying to get sunbeds- there just are not enough.

Thumbs down from me on this hotel and I won't go back. Too big, frustrating with controls, and missing on the basics a guest wants...

Room Tip: lower levels in case of fire...
