Our family stayed at this relatively new hotel for a week in October his year. Sensational service from George and Paul on the 9th Floor all under the professional stewardship of Sachin. Location is ideal. Pools great and beach and view worth every penny. We will be back. Quality customer experience and extra small touches were appreciated and welcomed on this special holiday. As a customer with extra health needs, I was treated with great respect and consideration from all staff. A special thank you to Anne Despogado down at the pool for her wonderful service and smile and to all the brilliant lifeguards. Keep up the good work.

This is a good hotel with good standards but its not spectacular.
The Executive level...is good but the serving of food and beverage are average..nothing sparkles...yet it all works.
The good thing is that staff are not looking for tips...they are there to assist and assist they do.
This is not a small romantic hotel its a big "come and get it " hotel.
The rooms are very good.....not fantastic and WOW ...but very good......the place just lacks atmosphere.
They have a good gym but being a big hotel it gets very busy at peak times and you find that you are waiting for equipment.
Everything works well in the hotel but it doesn't sparkle.
If the price is right its good but it has to be based on price.
If you are a courting couple don't choose British children's Holiday week......its just too busy with kids and push chairs....nice kids and nice push chairs....and at that time the executive lounge and services are like a zoo.

Room Tip: If your on a romance break don't choose British schools holiday weeks....too many kids. The suites are very spacious and very good for the money. This is a big hotel.....and lacks intimacy.

This hotel is really good. It is very new and well designed. The room sizes are very good and the bathrooms have separate shower and bath as well as a separated WC. Housekeeping in the rooms was very thorough including the turndown service. We had a room overlooking the road, which wasn't an amazing view, but we didn't spend much time in there so weren't bothered. It was quite quiet though you could occasionally hear some road noise - nothing to disturb your sleep though. I think every room has a balcony, which has a table, 2 chairs and a lounger, though again if you planning to spend some time using it then it is probably worth upgrading to a sea view rather than sitting out looking at the road.
We booked the Fairmont Gold service, which was a nice added extra and made things easy eg they serve breakfast if you don't want to go down to the restaurant, afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks etc. We didn't use the lounge lots, but I think it is worth having the service and the team staffing it were very helpful when we wanted to change rooms (from 2 queens to a king) and on check out.
We spent a fair bit of time by the pool area, which is lovely. The lifeguards are great, super friendly and very observant, you felt safe with them watching everything. The beach is also good and makes a nice change especially when the pool area gets crowded and you want some peace. I think there was an adults only area too for those that want a lot of peace ! Only grumble about the pool/beach was people setting up sunbeds with (hotel) towels in the mornings, not leaving any of their things there and thinking they were 'reserved'. It gets quite confusing to know what is free, which beds hotel staff have prepared and who has come along to nab theirs early. Also the food/bar service in the pool and beach area is patchy. It can be v hard to get a server's attention and there was one occasion after waiting 30 mins for my order (an ice cream for my child) I went to check on it and found the server had forgotten to put it through. When it did finally arrive it was the wrong one, at which point I expressed irritation at having to wait 45 mins for an ice-cream and still not get what we'd ordered. No apology, no offer to deduct from the bill just a huffy server making me feel unreasonable.
We were on a half board offer, which with a young child made it easy to stay in the hotel. We went to the FLOW restaurant, which is mainly buffet, though there are others you can visit. The food was excellent, great quality, varied, well presented, which can be a challenge when you are cooking buffet. The restuarant managers at breakfast and dinner were both friendly and helpful, though some of the wait staff were erratic.
Overall if you are looking for an easy family holiday, especially with younger children, then this hotel is great. I would definitely go back. It is in an excellent location, caters very well for families and has everything you need without ever needing to leave ! On the whole the staff were fantastic, the odd individual not great, but nothing bad enough to be a big problem. It isn't cheap though so I would expect a good quality product. I think if I were going away with my partner I would probably not put it at the top of my list as it is too big and therefore a bit busy and impersonal, but that is just personal choice. It could work well for a group of friends as there is enough to do in the daytime and it isn't too far from downtown to go out in the evenings, ditto families with older children.

Room Tip: Worth splashing out on Fairmont Gold and if you are going to be in your room for more than sleeping/using your balcony then I would get one that is sea or garden facing.

We stayed at the Fairmont last week for 3 days and had a perfect relaxing time. The hotel is about 25mins from the airport. Arrived at 05.45 so a bit on the early side but no problem. We checked in and had a short wait to be taken to the gold lounge that opened at 6.30 for breakfast, there we waited just under an hour for our room to be ready, so very well done. Not all hotels would do this, we were treated like we mattered. Very happy to have been upgraded to a suite overlooking the beach on the 10th floor. Perfect. Very large and well laid out with a great double balcony. The gold lounge was a good standard with breakfast from 6.30, sandwiches and such 2-4 and drinks and canapés 6-8. I think the gold service is good value here. The pool and beach were perfect with many sun beds so never a problem finding a space and water provided whilst there by the very helpful guys who looked after you. Food and restaurants to a great standard so no complaints at all.
If you want to use wifi you will pay for it unless you are gold or join the Fairmont Presidents club (do this online before you go)
Would mention Michelle our butler for looking after us so well and Frederic Bellone for helping me before we arrived. Thank you.
We normally stay at the Al Maha when in Dubai but have now found a new home when in the country. Would defiantly recommend.

Room Tip: Go Gold its worth it but get a sea view

Our family 2 adults and children aged 14 & 11 stayed here for 1 week during UK October half term. We'd booked via a great deal direct with BA but opted for Palm view to keep cost down a little.

The room was great, very large, two amazingly comfortable beds, lots of nice mod cons like the Nespresso machine, decent alarm clock and separate wardrobe area. We did however find space for clothes difficult for 4 people, for a one week stay. We opted to have the mini bar emptied and used it to store our duty frees for a 'cold one' on the balcony in the evening. Like others say, there can be quite a lot a noise from cars along the front and compared to the sea view it's not great at night, but does make interesting car spotting!! One gripe we had is that the balcony glass was very dirty, we mentioned this twice but other than a note saying routine window cleaning would take place the following day nothing happened, and it was still dirty when we left several days later, this was poor.

The pool areas were superb, loads of loungers and very friendly pool staff. Tip - Well behaved kids over the age of 12 can use the adult pool with is much more civilised than the kids pool area. Drink and snacks around the pool were very good, and they even allowed us to order pizza which wasn't on the pool menu. The chilled water bag a must!

The concierge service was good and they were very helpful when we thought we'd left an iPhone at the golf club, they also managed to get us a last minute booking at Rhodes Twenty 10 (Highly recommended).

Taxi's were freely available apart from the early evening rush hour. On a couple of occasions we ended up waiting longer than we'd wanted to and on one occasion we ended up with an 'unofficial taxi rip off', so be careful if you have important dinner reservations! We always enjoyed seeing what supercar would be parked in the main area each evening. BTW: Every taxi seems to have a different route on and off the palm!

The hotel never seemed busy and compared to Atlantis or The Jumeriah Beach Hotel lobby it was a sea of tranquility.

There is a lovely little bakery on the ground floor of the hotel than sells amazing morning pastries for those without breakfast.

All in all we had yet another superb break in Dubai and would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms quieter and have a much better view but they will cost more. Certainly no 'op ups' when we were there despite being Presidents members.
