This hotel really is great. We stayed for 5 nights on a half board basis. We received an upgrade to a Gulf view villa which was right on the beach. The villas are lovely, consisting of a reception area, courtyard and around 10 rooms on two stories. Each villa has a butler who takes care of the guests in that villa. The rooms are beautiful - huge with a very large bathroom. The villas are set along waterways/canals and you get around the site ( which is vast ) on little boats or golf buggies - you simply ring and order one when you want to go anywhere ! Food was yummy - big buffet for breakfast ( even had a chocolate fountain for kids ) in a choice of three restaurants and lunch or evening meal in a choice of several restaurants for half board. There was a happy hour each evening in the villa reception from 6pm to 8pm. There was a large pool area although we just stayed at the beach. The souk in the hotel had a good range of shops and eateries. All of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We had a fantastic stay and would love to come back sometime.

Our second time at this resort last June was a wonderful , relaxing , luxury experience. The service is fantastic and the setting is wonderful. We see this now as an annual visit as we can't imagine anywhere else coming up to this standard of holiday.
Rooms were spacious and the bed is enormous. Lovely dressing room and wet room.
The holiday was made perfect thanks to our wonderful butler Ismile, his professional, friendly service made our stay very special indeed. Thank you Ismile :-)

Always the top standard.
My home away from home
Outstanding luxery packed in green gardens and the silent - except for the birds and the silent sounds of the abrabs sailing by.
The staff is so observant and smiling that every request is on your finger.
My favorit of all favorits.
Be aware that they are renewing and upgrading the villas now! So only half is avaibel for now.
Been here 10 times at least but will come again many more times :-)

Room Tip: All rooms are good but I preffer high floor (1 st floor) for the privacy of my balcony

Yes, this is the best luxury hotel to stay. The atmosphere is festive and the complex is geared towards relaxation and well... holidays. Wild Wadi is a very good park, not huge so manageable...(prefer it compared to Atlantis). Entrance is free for hotel guests. So as this is settled now details:

I prefer to stay at Dar Al Masyaf as opposed to Al Qasr itself as it's more charming as opposed to to the huge mall like structure. Also villas have separate pools which is nice for people who want to escape the noise... because it will be noise and super crowded during the top weeks (easter, New Year etc) where it would be hard to find a lounger by the pool.

Children's buffet, ice-cream stalls is a nice touch. However food is average at best, especially at the pool. It's a mystery why this is managed better.
Chinese and Thai restaurants are very good on the other hand. Make sure you book Thai restaurant in advance during the busiest weeks. Italian "Toskana" is nice casual option, in the middle of hustle and bustle.
Kids club is good but activities are not really there, i think they are just focused on keeping the kids safe. Nice touch that you can use Jumeirah Beach Hotel Kids Club, their kids pool is bigger and better.

The best thing to do is to have casual dinner and drinks on the beach followed by shisha if you get the coffee table right on the sand...

So it's a very easy option for holidays, it's a resort so don't expect anything unique. I especially recommend it for families with children.

Well what can I say. This was one of the most outstanding experiences of all time. The cleanliness, the boat ride in the resort. The service was seven stars. Everything was really a class of its own. I would rate this as the best hotel in Dubai. Well its a very close call with Burj Al Arab, but this is more relaxed and the food, ambience, smell and architecture is to see and experience yourself. Anyone in Dubai, this is the place to live in a resort style hotel location.

Set on the idyllic Jumeriah Beach, the Dar Al Masyaf features clusters of luxurious and traditionally styled summer houses. Having experienced the resort's impressive surroundings and high quality customer service on two previous vacations, the resort did not disappoint on my third visit. Admittedly, the holiday did get off to a rocky start due to the hotel booking been lost, a long wait for concierge to deliver our luggage and incidents of miscommunication from hotel management; however, these issues were rectified with the upmost sincerity.

Having booked an Arabian summer house, I was pleased to see that many of these clusters are in the process of refurbishment. This light construction is focused on specific areas of the resort, so as not to interfere with resort guests. It did, however, mean that I was able to experience first-hand the improvements that have been made to the Arabian summer houses.

The newly refurbished Villa 28 was the first in its cluster to open its doors to resort guests. The spacious rooms now feature an amalgamation of contemporary design and traditional Arabian décor. The cream, burnt orange and grey hues that furnish the room create an aura of warmth and comfort akin to a homely environment. Temperature and lighting can now be controlled by a digital pad, which is accessible both on the walls and bedside cabinets. Undoubtedly, this enables you control over your environment at ease and is reflective of the state-of-the-art facilities you can expect to find in a five star deluxe resort in Dubai. The number of plug sockets around the room is limited, but a functional working space does provide all the necessary USB and power supply points that you may need for using electrical devices.

Drinks are serviced in the villa's own majilis and butlers here are both professional and friendly. As some reviewers have already commented, there does not appear to be the same consistency in the butlers assigned to villas as in previous years. This does mean that guests do not get the opportunity to develop the same relationships that have been highly valued in the past. However, I was fortune enough to see both Zubin and Raquel during my stay. Both are a credit to the resort; they will go above and beyond to ensure that guests are catered for and make every effort to get to know their guests. This ensures high-quality personal service and most importantly, a friendly face that adds to the overall holiday experience!

Overall, this was another fantastic and memorable holiday at a highly recommended resort.

Room Tip: Gulf summer houses offer easier access to the beach; however, all Dar Al Masyaf residences have easy...

This is my third stay in MJ Dar Al Masyaf and seventh stay at a Jumeirah hotel.
From being welcomed at Dubai airport and driven by private limousine to the hotel, to being taken back again in the same style (the limousine transfer is included if you stay in a suite) the experience was wonderful.
We stayed in a Gulf Summer House one bedroom suite, which was very spacious and beautifully appointed - the bathrooms are huge and excellent.
The service was, as ever, excellent and the butlers looking after each Summer House are a real bonus - always on-hand and always very happy to help - with anything; they genuinely WANT you to ask them to assist you - nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Breakfast is always a treat with a huge variety of high quality breakfast fodder on offer.
We were on half-board, which I believe to be excellent value, and ate an MJ's twice, Carnevale, Noodle House, Tortuga, Al Hambra and Zeng He's - all have a very different ambience but all served excellent food with highly professional and attentive service.
There are times when I wonder if I should try another hotel type when I travel to Dubai - but every time I use Jumeirah I'm extremely pleased that I have. I cannot praise them highly enough.

Room Tip: If you can get a deal on a suite, it's very worthwhile - over twice the size of a standard room.
