I am in Dubai to attend a conference. My trip is sponsored by my employer therefore I have very limited budget. This hotel suits my budget. It is an old hotel must be at least twenty years old. For its age it is a well maintained hotel i.e. everything from Lights, AC, Fridge, to the washroom taps, shower, and flush works absolutely fine.
My room number is 302. It has wooden panelling on floor, double bed, two sofas and a tea table, small writing + dressing table.
Location of this hotel is fantastic. You can catch a bus from this hotel to Burjuman train station from where you can easily go anywhere. For instance I can reach Business bay or Burj Khalifa in 20 minutes.
There are many stores and shopping malls around this place. Whenever I am hungry I go to MCDonalds, KFC, and Pizza hut which are all there in a food court of Al Khlaeej center, just at 5 minutes walk on Al mankhool road.
I have also purchased my prepaid mobile SIM card from Etisilaat service center in Al Khaleej center. There are some shops around from where you can buy souvenirs from your family and friends. Grocery shops are at walking distance. You need bananas, water, yogurt, clothes everything is just a few steps away from this hotel.
I am actually loving this place because of its cheap rates and great connectivity.
BUT which is a big BUT
If you are looking for a peaceful sleep then please don't consider this hotel. Because there are two night clubs in this hotel. One is Africana in the basement of this hotel and other is an Indian night club on first floor. They both play really loud music every night from 6pm till 3am in the morning. Music is so loud that it vibrates everything in my room. So I cannot sleep at nights. I usually go out for a long walk, dinner, and shopping. I return back to hotel around 1:30pm, spend sometime on my computer. For instance, I am writing this review because its 2:30am here and I cannot sleep because of loud music playing downstairs.
Secondly, there is no free wifi connectivity. However, you can purchase unlimited wifi access for two nights in 50AED. Other conditions of this wifi access are that you cannot access more than one device at a time. I purchased this hotel wifi card for first two nights. But then I have purchased a prepaid SIM card from Etisilaat in 40AED and I have paid 100AED to obtain 1GB data. 1GB would be sufficient for my 6 nights stay.
Thirdly, I would not recommend families to stay here, especially those parents who are concerned about their children should stay away from here because I have often seen prostitutes. You know it is due to the night club environment.
Finally, if you decide to stay here then do not leave your precious items in the hotel room if you are going out. Hotel management is not responsible for any loss of items from your room.
If you are a single MALE, on a tight budget, who is not bothered by sloppy service from the hotel staff and who can afford to stay awake at night and sleep during the day. This is the best place to stay.
