The hotel is great desert resort, relaxing, falcon show is amazing, camel ride is fun. I went for an hour of horse riding and it was superb. The Hadheera traditional restaurant is done in a unique one and only one, one of the staff (Husain) took a very very good care of us and we had really enjoyed our day.

We had a one night stay along with a group of friends just last weekend. And everything about our stay was just the way we wanted. Around 100 kms away from Abu Dhabi or 35 Km off the MBZ Rd Dubai, the resort is a prefect break from the noise of the city. The pool, the roof top restaurant Al Sarab, the rustic decor of the rooms... all add up to the charm of this place.

The staff of the resort are courteous in every possible way. If there is one thing that the resort could improve upon then it is the check-in process. It took us quiet a while to finish off the check-in as well as check out process. Otherwise everything else was just 10/10.

If you want a break from the noisy Dubai then this is the right place to be. A bit outside of the city, in the middle of the desert, you can enjoy romantic moments with your loved one. It's expensive, but if you want an unforgettable weekend, then it's worth every penny.

one more time Bab Al Shams proves to be a very nice resort to relax and enjoy some piece of mind, the level of service is excellent, food was amazing (perfect bouffets for all three meals but note that the selection is a lot more during weekends), even if it is full, the place is not over crowded to the point you feel you are in a mall. See you again..soon

well done management and team

Room Tip: if you are going with kids, ask for a room facing the pool. that area is also closer to the restaura...

I absolutely loved my time spent at Bab Al Shams and would recommend to anyone in need of some quiet relaxing time in a spacious and very well designed resort.

I stayed here for 3 nights but could definitely have stayed for longer. The journey to the resort is around an hour, with approx. 45 minutes of that travelling through the desert. The journey itself is enjoyable and makes you realise just how remote the resort is.

The resort was just as I had hoped it would be; rustic Arabic design, peaceful... and scorching hot! (Outside obviously!)

Room
Our room was on the ground floor looking out on the desert. It was cool with brilliant air con and spacious with plenty lighting around the room. Loved the quirky boot lamp on the desk. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable, with great pillows too. It's always a struggle to get out of such a comfortable bed when on holiday...

The bathroom was a good size, and the design of the bath and shower was great - same rustic Arabian style. And you've got to love a good rain shower. Loved the taps and fittings - a small thing I know - but it's all the small things that make the difference to the overall look.

A bowl of fruit was provided in the room every day, along with plenty bottles of water. Good tea and coffee making area. There's a turn down service at night, with water replenished again.

The walkways to the pool and restaurant area keep the same rustic design with lots of interesting features to look at. There's so much to discover here by just wandering around. The under covered areas were a blessing in the heat. We spotted some camel tracks in the floor near to our room - another quirky feature, loved it.

Pool
The pool is amazing! I preferred the upper part which is the newest part. Very big pool, plenty room to swim, rest on the edge looking out onto the desert. There are seats in the pool, some have water jets that you can activate yourself by the buttons by the pool. I loved the covered areas in the pool especially the part with the Jacuzzi water jets. It was such relaxing pool. Many hotels could learn a thing or two from this pool.

We were often provided with cold flannels and fruit around the pool, all complimentary. The bar service was very good. The swim up bar was a nice feature too. There is a kids pool here, but most of them seemed to be in the main pool... but the lifeguards were always vigilant and kept any unsupervised ones out of the deeper parts.

Dining
The buffet restaurant at Al Forsan was very good with plenty of choice to cater for different tastes. The desserts here were delicious, some of the best I've eaten... and I'm a big fan of desserts. Omelettes in the morning were scrumptious, again with plenty choice for all tastes; pastries, breads, cereals, yogurts, juices, eggs, sausage, bacon and much more. I don't think anyone should struggle to find something to their taste here.

The outdoor bar above Al Forsan, Al Sarab was atmospheric and a good place to relax. There was some live entertainment later on which some may find enjoyable. Some very good views of the desert around from the bar, and a good spot to sunset watch.

I would return here without hesitation, and hopefully will in the future.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are possibly cooler, but air con is brilliant anyway.

Stayed for one night in March after the first stay previously 4 years ago. Hotel has been let go since previous management, we noticed a huge drop in the level of service and although the surroundings remain as beautifiul as ever the hotel grounds, rooms, and facilities have become very 'tired' We went to the Indian restaurant for Dinner and left within 5 minutes due to very uncomfortable atmosphear, there is very bright lighting, no music, and it felt like the whole place was listening to our conversation. We moved on to the Pizza resturant which again lacked atmosphear in a big way but by this time I was too hungry to even care and managed a full Pizza which wasnt too bad.

Upon checking out staff told me I would receive my deposit whcih was taken upon check in would be refunded back on to my credit card within 14 days, 4 months on and a number of unanswered emails and phone calls later I have still not recieved the money, Mistakes happen but the service level with regards to this matter has been Zero, overall after this issue I have come to the conclusion that no one within the hotel actually seems to care, they have a beautiful location and seems like staff and management are relying on this to generate satisfaction from guests.

Much better desert retreats out there in the UAE.

We took a friend there as a Birthday surprise.Check in was fine, but we were quite surprised that there was a deposit to be paid which is refunded at check-out,the hotel should have this information on their website,we booked via booking.com but this information was not given.

The hotel provided a small cake with a birthday message a fruit basket and some dates, chocolates and candies, very nice touch.

The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities as well as a mini fridge.

Everything looked clean but the sofa by the window looked quite cosy and inviting until you looked carefully and one noticed it was not clean we requested a duvet and used it to cover the whole sofa.

The room was quite nice concrete floors with old Arabic style, non of that artificial ambiance of hotels in Dubai. It was on the ground floor with a balcony quite relaxing to sit there with a drink,a gazelle stopped a few feet away and we went very quite as it looked at us.We were unable to take a photo as it dashed off before we could, she passed by 30 mins later but didn't stop again.

The pool was just fantastic we spend all our time there,it was a hot day but the breeze and the palm trees around the pool made it cool the water was just the right temperature. Drinks at the pool bar are just over priced. Please be aware the pool has a lot of steps inside the pool be careful while swimming look down and move around carefully.

There is a section where they have painted the floor to look like a chess board with wooden chess pieces available for a game ,its really good fun to play,we had a good laugh playing i highly recommend one to play.

We had dinner at the Al Sarab rooftop Lounge we had the Arabic mesa, which was very disappointing it was cold and unappetizing and over priced for what we got.We sat at the roof top and we enjoyed the entertainment there was an Arabic singer singing some Arabic songs, though we could not understand it was enjoyable a group of Arabic guests seemed to enjoy themselves as they smoked shisha.

We took a walk to the Al hadheerah restaurant and mini souk market,it looked very lively with live music and belly dancers the buffet looked OK but for AED 425 we thought it was just not worth it.The souvenirs sold at the mini market are also over prized one would get a better bargain elsewhere in Dubai. Also for breakfast we thought AED 130 was not worth it.

We were quite disappointed with the staff {not Arabic} managing the queue before the camel ride,we waited for our turn and when we informed him we didn't want to take the camel ride just take photos he rudely informed us we could wait and take photos when the Arabic couple behind us had their turn.Even after the couple and the Arab gentleman with camel said it was fine he still insisted we could wait as we were not taking the ride.Quite disappointing behavior of a member of staff of a 5 star hotel he was clearly being racist we could not understand why he would not let us take a quick photo considering it would take us less time taking a photo than the three of us taking turns taking the camel ride.

I would probably stay there again as I loved the pool experience and the room and balcony were worth the stay. The sunset and sunrise was beautiful. That is the only part worth staying at the hotel which is by far not a 5 star.
