Spacious themed rooms were clean and comfortable. Centrally located for visiting souks and the museum as well as the Bastikaya. Nice buffet breakfast. Offered free airport transfer as well as the possibility to take a shower after an early arrival (before the room was ready).

If you are looking for real cultural experience and not an over the top expensive glossy hotel in Dubai quite close to the airport this was a great hotel with great service right in the the thick of things. 5m from the Dubai Museum providing a great landmark for returning in taxis late at night. 20m for the Textile Souk and only a short ride over the river to the other infamous Souks. Airport was a 15 min taxi leaving at 7 am in the morning. The breakfast buffet and the pool were disappointing.

Echo a lot of the comments below. Just returrned from a week B/B in an Executive Room and well worth the little extra to have a room on 8th floor, breakfast served in Executive lounge, free WiFi, lovely hors d'oeuvres every evening 6-8pm wiht free drinks! Staff are very helpful and courteous and the location opposite the Dubai Museum (well worth a visit), 5 mins from the abra and on the edge of the Textile souk fantastic. Walked everywhere, took taxis and new Metro system to Burj Khlifa which has just reopened the lifts to the Observation Floor. Hotel was a peaceful oasis in the middle of the Old City at the end of each exhausting day! Pool area small but clean and very typical of a city hotel. Free minibus to Beach Park every day which was great, free Airport bus 4 times a day if it fits in with your flights, lovely small Spa with excellent treatments, quite reasonable. Hop on hop off bus stop opposite hotel near museum well worth a day's ticket.

All in all, a super stay and would recommend to couples, families with older children.

We stayed at the Arabian Courtyard for 7 nights,it is well placed for all trips around Dubia, just a 5 minute walk to the creek where there are shops, restaurants, markets,& water taxis, there is a bus stop just across the road for the big red bus tours (wich is not my sort of thing) but i must say it is a realy great way to see all the sights of Dubia, you buy a day ticket get off anywear look around and get on the next bus wich run every 25 minutes,it realy is worth doing, the food is very good, and the staff are realy nice and helpfull, if you fancy getting up at 4.30am i recomend the hotair ballon flight it was fab.All in all i do recomend this hotel we had a great stay in Dubia....

This hotel has been getting some excellent reviews and after staying here I can see why. Stayed here for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The hotel goes for a traditional feel but it is very modern and well looked after. Our room was of a decent size and nicely decorated, going in with its ‘look’. Everything worked. The pool isn’t huge but again, is well looked after. There are a few restaurants inside the hotel and offer good options. We only ate in one, (the Indian) and that is very well recommended. The food was delicious! Fairly well priced too. Only thing was it was a bit noisy with the entertainment provided (singers and dancers in the middle of the restaurant) so don’t go there expecting to have a quiet conversation!

The hotel is well located in the ‘old Dubai’ area, and overlooks the Dubai museum, grand mosque and the creek is only a short walk away (visiting the souks and taking a boat ride is a must). Compared to the glitz and glamour of the malls and the Jumeriah beach area, you may at first glance find it a bit raw. But it is perfectly safe. Just bear in mind if you’re a western female you might get more stares from the local community than you’re used to! If you’ve never been to Dubai before bear in mind the city is huge, and is well spread out, so if you’re mainly going for a beach type holiday you might want to look elsewhere. However, the hotel runs a daily shuttle bus to the lovely Jumeriah beach, and will take you back to the hotel too. What makes this great is that the service is free! This service easily makes up for the high service charges other reviewers have complained about, such as internet access and the sauna/steam room. Also included is the free borrowing of a beach towel. Otherwise for everywhere else, the newly opened metro system is a twenty minute walk away, and taxi’s are dirt cheap – to get to further out places like the Dubai and Emirates mall will only cost around 30-40 Dirham’s off peak, and a similar price for the airport. There is also a very good supermarket a few doors down from the hotel. Another thing to mention is that as the hotel is directly opposite the Grand Mosque, expect to be woken up for morning prayer before 5am! This doesn’t usually last more than 20 minutes, and you’ll soon learn to sleep through it after the first few times. You can expect this from a lot of places in Dubai, so don’t let it put you off.

Dubai does have a reputation for not having the best customer service, and sadly we did see good evidence of that, but not at this hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Special mention goes to the security guard/concierge on night duty. After we told him we were expecting our luggage to turn up late, having not made it on the same flight as us, he took the initiative to call the airport, pin them down to when it would arrive and called us when it finally did, bringing it up to our hotel rooms. He was a lot more help than the whole of Dubai airport combined!

I would stay here again.

The hotel is in the old part of Dubai, just across the road from the Dubai Museum and about a 7 minute walk to the Abra terminal, where you get the boat across the Creek. There is also lots of old style shopping around the hotel.

Taxis are plentiful - it was about a 25 dirham taxi ride to the Dubai Mall, if quiet traffic.

Hotel facilities were good - a buffet breakfast with a wide selection, 3 restaurants and a sports bar with a singer - although alcohol is expensive and very smokey if you are now used to smoke free pubs.

Our room was very comfortable and everything worked. We couldn't here any noise from ajacent rooms. About 35 channels on the TV catering for a lot of nationalities.

All in all a good value hotel.

This hotel was just great! From the outside it doesn't look that appealing but inside you get a try authentic Arabian experience. The rooms are very big and decorated in a true local style. The pool area is very nice and the service was really good. They have a fantastic spa with the best massages! A bit expensive but all worth it.
The location of the hotel couldn't be better. Dubai is a huge city with a very strange layout so this area is the best to stay in. It's in walking distance to a good atmosphere which you don't get in new Dubai! Across the street from the hotel there is a huge mosque which makes your experience even more authentic!
The hotel also has a cool pub with live music where you can relax at night and order a beer in the otherwise very alcohol free town.
AND AND AND their Indian restaurant has the best butter chicken EVER!!!
