This is the place I stay when in town. I have tried other hotels and unless the good folks at Emirates are paying for my stay (their Dubai connect service usually puts me up in the Le Meridien) I will always book the Park Hyatt.
I am a Park Hyatt fan anyway. I like their discreet low key but attentive service. The zen feel to the rooms and hotel lobbies. It generally just a lovely, quiet and serene hotel in a sea of gaudy, loud and "blingy" hotels that is Dubai. I also like the location that may be too far out for some but is perfect for me as a business traveller. Close to the airport and an easy ride to most of the places I need to be.
The hotel is small though and I have had difficulty booking a room several times based on no availability so you should plan in advance. It is expensive as well compared to other luxury properties in Dubai.
I would say that this is a business or a romantic hotel and not a great place for families. The pool is small and you are far away from all the activities. There are certainly better hotels in Dubai for families (er......Atlantis anyone?).
The Thai restaurant is the best in town. Great authentic thai food made right in front of you tapas style.More
