Enjoyed it. Not for everyone but if you are interested in history and photography worth a visit. Nice collection of very old maps dating from when GB had a king emperor!

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoom is a historical House shows the life of past ruler of Dubai and how the city developed from Fishing to Oil.

The house was built based on the Arabic architecture design such as small doors and windows decorated and painted in a dark brown color.

It has a small Gift shop at the left of the entrance, it is located on the Dubai Creek near The Faheedi fort, right on the sea side.

We spent nearly half an hour, we walked around, went to the roof and the small photos exhibition room.

Bring your camera, recommended to visit during sunset!

Sheikh Saeed al-Maktoum's House shows how even the ruler of Dubai lived at the turn of last century and the photographic displays show how Dubai has developed from Pearl fishing through finding oil to the sprawling metropolis it is today. It is next to the heritage centre which is also worth a visit. it is good value at 4 dirhams for the house and a fee for the Heritage Centre.
There is a tunnel which goes under the Creek and comes out near the Gold Souk.
Suggest you go late afternoon when it is cooler then go to the bright lights of the Gold Souk to be dazzled by all the gold in the shop windows.

Next to the heritage centre, a fascinating insight into life in Dubai from turn of the century to now, and what changes they have been !! Run by the Government of Dubai .... costs less than $1 entry ... allow one hour...
