“Very unwelcoming”

We were on a business trip to Dubai and stayed for 7nights at Savoy Crest. The location was very good, 5min walking distance from Burjuman Mall. But the staff were very unwelcoming. We had reached there around 7am with pre-booking done by our office. We also opted for an airport pick-up by the hotel cab. The cab was on-time but once we reached the hotel the Reception crew kept us waiting for about an hour and informed us that none of the rooms are available till 2pm. This was too much! They were aware of our flight timing. After travelling for so many hours, just waiting at the reception for getting a room was highly undesirable. However after some 3-4hrs of waiting we were checked in to a better category room. Moreover, the cook at the omlette stall (named Pradeep) had a very racist attitude. Not sure why did not he even wished us even for once while he was doing so with the white boarders. This guy should have been immediately fired by the management.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us during your stay in August at the Savoy Crest.

I have personally traced your booking and investigated in to the matter. After carefully checking all the correspondences exchanged between Savoy Crest and your company, we would like to clarify that your reservation no: 41925 had NO pre-booking done by your office as you have mentioned.

The hotel check in time is at 2 pm but at Savoy Crest we are very flexible and allocate rooms for early arrivals subject to availability. The night before we were running a 100% occupancy and no rooms had checked out by the time you arrived early morning at the hotel. ( Our check out time is 12 noon)

The first check out took place at around 10.30 am which was a 1 bedroom apartment. Our housekeeping team immediately cleaned and sanitised the entire room. You were allotted and upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment from a Studio at 11.09 am without any extra cost.

We really regret the inconvenience you had faced and I would be glad to forward the mail correspondences between your office and the hotel to erase the cloud of misunderstanding which made you believe that your room was pre-booked from the night before.

We have shared your personal remarks with the live omellete Chef Pradeep who is very saddened to learn that unknowingly he has upset you . He has personally sent his apologies to you and looks forward to serving you again given an opportunity. At the Savoy we treat all guests from our hearts without any discrimination.

At the Savoy Crest we take all complaints very seriously and take it as a challenge to improve. We hope you give us a chance to demonstrate our service ethos and look forward to welcome you back.

We had a great experience of Savoy Crest, were upgraded to a 1 BR apartment from studio, everything from Airport pick up to check in to room service was efficient. Service is always with a smile. Look forward to staying there again. Location though convenient to go to any place still remains peaceful.

My mother and I visit Dubai at the end of the year for a week every year. This year, after seeing the brilliant reviews, we decided to choose the Savoy Crest as our apartment for 6 nights. When we usually arrive at an apartment, there is always some problem with confirming our details etc but this time it all went smoothly and to plan and we were welcomed wholeheartedly by the manager and given a cold drink. We were given the card to our room and as soon as we entered our eyed lit up. The living area was amazing, plenty of space, a lovely dining table with four chairs, a comfy sofa and lounging chair and a trendy flat screen Tv and DVD player. the Kitchen again was fantastic, loads of room to make your meals. The kitchen includes: A Cooker, Oven, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer and washing machine. There are two bathrooms, one which is an on suite, the main bathroom which has a basin, toilet and shower over bath, lots of toiletries were provided such as toilet paper, towels and shower gel. The second bathroom contains a toilet and sink. The bedroom had a wonderful King size bed with lots of spare cushions, with lots of room for your clothes in the wardrobe and finally another flat screen TV. We didn't get a chance to use the rooftop facilities but there was a large swimming pool and lots of sun loungers available. There were lots of other little things that were provided for us during our 6 night stay including bottles of water, sugar, salt and tea/coffee.They also provided a printed TV guide which tells you what is on each channel for the TV. With regards to the location of the apartment it was perfect, there are 3 supermarkets located nearby and the Burjaman metro station round the corner which was about 5 mins walking distance, from there you can go anywhere around the City. The Burjaman Centre is only 10 mins walk from the apartment. There are lots of restaurants dotted around this area so no problem with getting something to eat at any time of night. The staff from the managers all the way to the cleaners were lovely and the customer service provided was to a very high level. We were lucky enough to see the Dawali celebrations when we were staying and the hotel gave us some lovely sweets. I would like to say a huge thanks to all the staff who made our stay so wonderful and enjoyable, we will definitely be returning.

We stayed for 6 nights. the staff are all very welcoming and helpful and rember your preferences for breakfast etc. Breakfast is an interesting mix of Indian and international. The restaurant is very good value. The location in Bur Dubai is walking distance to teh creek (about 15 minutes) and two metro stations. We took the airport transfer service which is good value. Bur Dubai is the cntre of the Indian community and is full of shops and restaurants. It has more a a 'soul' than some other arreas of the city. The only problem was traffic noise and the morning call to prayer. Take earplugs!

Just had 3 nights at Savoy Crest apartments and had a great time. Family of 4 arrived 6.30am, shown to very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. Quick bite at breakfast (buffet) grabbed a bit of sleep before exploring Dubai. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. We had a late check out for our 2am flight, no problems what so ever. Kids loved the rooftop pool. When we return to Dubai would love to return to Savoy Crest. Thanks.

I stayed in Dubai on a two night layover and ended up at the Savoy Crest after booking on Hotwire. Arrived at 9am, the staff endeavoured to get me a room and allow check in however this was not possible. As an alternative reception suggested getting breakfast and going up to the pool area where I could shower, change and lay out in the sun. This was a very good suggestion and was able to checkin about 2 hours later.

This is an older property so the room furnishings and decor are dated however all well maintained. The location has good access for the Dubai metro with Bur Juman and Al Fahidi Metro stations within ten min walking distance.

I have to comment on the friendly staff - every time you passed a staff member you were acknowledged with a friendly greeting. I do not think I have experienced that in any hotel before. A very pleasant and enjoyable stay for modest price.

We were family of 5, stayed for 4 nights, from the beginning till the end we had a great time at savoy crest. Staff was always helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
