Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Amazing! Water show at night was breathtaking. Even amdist the hustle bustle and the crowds, you were taken into a world of amazement with the effects and the soothing Arabic music.

“stunning view”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

the views over the city and sea are simply stunning. looking direct down to the fountain pools leaves you a little giddy. then look up and out to sea to see the world, the man made islands, then left and right to the skyscrapers below

“Atmosphere lounge”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

A bloody expensive view.
The building from the outside is awe inspiring!
Booked a visit to the atmosphere lounge.
It was OK. Extremely expensive food and drink for a view. The views OK. Your high up but that's about it.
The lounge states a dress code is in force so we dressed to impress as stated and then other people turn up in shorts and trainers and are allowed access. Kind of takes the gleam off the place.

“Amazing architecture!”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

Simply an amazing work of modern architecture. It's a must see if you're an architect, an aspiring one or just want to say you've been at the highest viewing point in the world. At 124 floors (452 meters) in approx one minute, the elevator is one of the fastest in the world as well. Don't worry though- they distract you with a music and light show and you only know you're moving because you need to pop your ears.

Definitely buy tickets online in advance as others have said. It costs 130aed that way and although you can find some random tour operators like desert adventures (desks all over Dubai) that have a few left, they will charge you 150aed for them. The tours sell out a few days in advance.

Also, I'd recommend going at night. The city view is just amazing with all the lights and you may get lucky enough to see the dancing fountain show from above (every 30 mins at the hour and half past) that lasts a few minutes. It's also about 20 degrees cooler.
