Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

“Felt conned: You only get 480metres up this 830metre tower”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

As a tall building fanatic I was REALLY looking forward to going up the highest building in the world. I'm well aware viewing decks are often a bit below the quoted maximum height of tall buildings, but with the Burj Khalifa you only get 58% of the way up. There is a LOT more of it to go, and I felt throughly conned.

That said the views were still amazing. Time your visit to spend a couple of hours up there, to see sunset as well as daylight.

This is something everyone who goes to Dubai must do only once!! Great views and good experience staff are very rude though worse than being at an airport!

“Fun !”

Excellent view at night - dont waste your money by climbing up at noon.
Book beforehand if you try buying ticket once you reach the spot steep price will surprise you.
Its quite crowded so brace yourself for getting shoved and standing in long lines.
There is no food upstairs so feed yourselves before going up.

“Awesome”

If you go to Dubai this is a must! I have not got a head for heights but surprisingly I was ok going up to the viewing area. The lift takes you to the 124th floor in about a minute. You can't feel it moving although our ears "popped" a little.
The view was great. An oasis of a mass of modern architecture.

“A must see!”

Great views across Dubai! There are interesting facts to read about how it was built and special telescopes are available which let's you view Dubai how it looked 20 years ago. Strongly recommend booking in advance , you will make good savings and also avoid disappointment as it does get fully booked up to days in advance!
