Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

“Very expensive but in the end, worthwhile”

I had not realised you should book well in advance. We arrived and tried to book within the hour of arriving on-line, to no avail the first 2 days we were there appeared to be booked out. The 3rd day there was some tickets but the website would not allow us to book. We took the metro down to the booking office to be told those had all sold out and we could only have ' Last minute special tickets' and go up the tower right at that time! The cost was horrendous over $100 NZ$ compared to the on line price, after thinking about we would never be there to do it again we paid and it was a great experience but, the cost is silly. Very hard on the families also waiting in the line. The message is Book well in advance before you even leave home.

“Not to the Top”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

It is rather frustrating that one only is able to go to the 124th floor of the 190 possible floors. Visiting the tallest building in the world and not getting to the top is somewhat disappointing.

It is a must to book your ticket in advance, it's so busy! Do it online & pick your ticket up when you get there. Make sure you are ther before they tell you to be as the queue gets very busy.
Worth the visit though as the view is amazing. Try for sunset tickets if you can really worth the effort.
