“Hunting for sunbeds”
Reviewed 31 December 2013

Was at Dubai Intercontinental Festival City with the family and friends. We have found it very frustrating that we were not able to combine a long sleep at night (which you obviously always expect from your long awaited holiday) and quality sunbathing. Every morning we almost had to fight for the sunbeds, same as many other guests, which was very disappointing.
The hotels does not mention anywhere on the website that only the luckiest will be able to get sunbeds to feel comfortable when enjoying the sun.
This is not where you want to expect to see competition. It is totally unreasonable that you have to wake up at 7 in the morning to successfully book the sunbeds. It defies the holiday mood and does not make you want to come here again.
The management needs to take it seriously.
Also, dont underestimate the power of the internet. Bad news alwasy travel fast, especially when you let your guests down.

Nice location in Festival city, with many important shopping malls around, excellent conference venue and good choice of restaurants. Situated just next to Festival city mall, with marina facing fun places.

We stayed the night of November 28th 2013. Originally I had booked a 2 bedroom suite because I was coming with a friend and wanted to treat him the best I could.
By LUCK (the hotel was fully booked) when we went to check-in they upgraded me on a KING PRESIDENTIAL SUITE #2121; apparently it is the best room you can get and there are only 3 in the hotel. Amazing room of about 250 sq meters! Large living room with couches, big squared dining table connected (through a sort of sliding door) to a full kitchen; 3 bathrooms (1 master bathroom with: large amazing shower, fantastic jacuzzi and even a 2 seats steam room; 1 very nice bathroom with shower and bathtub; 1 smaller bathroom for guests); 2 bedrooms (1 master bedroom with poster bed connected to a full changing room and closet; 1 big kitchen fully equipped connected to the living room in case you decide to cook. What else? I recommend to have a look at my pictures and no other comments are needed! Ask for room 2121 if you want to dream or even if you are 2 couples since the 2 rooms are apart from each other and you will get the same privacy as having 2 separate rooms.

I stayed for 4 days in this hotel. Great ambiance, large size rooms, very good & friendly staff, quality service (which is very critical to the hotel industry) is very good, quite happy with the free WiFi facility available thru the campus, nearer to the Intl airport is an added advantage. Indian tourists should be happy epsecially with ample choice of Indian food available. We all vegitarians were very happy with the taste and quality of food. I was surprised and happy to note that the quality of food was comparatively much better than several top hotels in India. The chef team is from India and all guests enjoyed the taste. We enjoyed the food spread and variety of Indian, continental food. Service in all departments is excellent. I experienced the focus by each hotel and service provider in Dubai focussed on quality of service. One would be happy to stay in this hotel and enjoy each moment. In case of any quick shopping, mall is next door attached to the hotel, lot of shopping options, M&S, Toys 'R' us, Gold market and several shops in the mall.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floors, 16th floor with front side view is a best option

great large suit upgraded, professional & friendly service in the club lounge, felt very at home.
the service in the main reception was not as good as in the club lounge.
lots of choices at the breakfast but the chefs work quite slow so need to wait for them to refill .
air con was too cold in the corridor, may be they could turn it warmer a bit to save the environment more.

Return visit for 3 nights and i've got to say its better than ever!

We stayed here for 10 nights on business 2 years ago and promised ourselves a return visit but just never got around to it. Other hotels were always more convenient for my husband to conduct his business.

However on this occasion we headed to Dubai 3 days early and checked in here for R+R before changing location to meet up with colleagues, So pleased we did.

Exemplary service and a standard of class you expect of 5* hotels but all too often do not receive.

We enjoyed a Club room with Lounge access and the most amazing hospitality. Complimentary food presentations are offered throughout the day including breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea and our favourite, Dinner. The latter being of such quality we changed our plans and stayed here and ate delicious food instead of heading out to one of the many restaurants close by.

We were a little disappointed that we were no longer able to exchange breakfast in the Club for breakfast in Anais but hey you cant have everything!

Perhaps the most surprising change from our last visit was that now complimentary alcohol and cocktails are available from 12 noon until 11.30pm !!!
Champagne is restricted from 6 to 8pm which is probably just as well because although I am no big drinker I am partial to a few bubbles and these were particularly fine bubbles. Laurent Perrier no less.

A special mention for Diego who looked after us so warmly and efficiently in the Lounge along with so many of his colleagues whose names escape me for the moment. Overseen by the lovely Mariam who must be so proud of her very very capable team.

Every member of staff we encountered gave a standard of service which resulted in making our stay an outstanding experience. From door staff greeting us on arrival, front of house team, bell boys, housekeeping, spa staff and the wonderful pool guys. Each and everyone of them giving 100%.
The secret is in the attention to detail.

How lucky am I to be returning in a few days to enjoy a week at this wonderful Hotel.
What better way to celebrate Christmas with my husband?

Smug? A bit.
Spoilt? A little.
Privileged? Yes.!
Excited? VERY!!

The hotel is right by the festival center mall, marina walk (restaurants) and the event center. It only takes a minute or two to get to any of the above mentioned places. The rooms are clean , modern and the shower/bathtub is amazing !! We had an infant with us and they got a white wooden crib, we were worried it might hurt the baby at night so they immediately wrapped the sides of the crib with us with think blankets. ( which worked for the baby). Dubai mall is only a ten minute drive from the hotel as Dubai is a small area this hotel is located in a good place away from traffic.
