Great stay in a family suite for a weekend of Jazz at Festival City ... The location was excellent with great restaurants and shops close by. Excellent service & facilities with the only critique being that it was on the expensive side ...

Our very first impression of the hotel was disastrous: we checked-in at 4:30 pm and we got the room after 6pm. We booked the biggest room, the 2 bedroom suite, you would expect some minimum attention with it. To be fair, they provided a room to wait but the luggage came 1 hour later after we complain.
Both rooms showed wear & tear: stained carpet, damages blinds and spotty headboard. This is not what one would expect from a five star and for 1,000 USD room.
We were on the 25th floor and the level of outside noise was quite high, specially the roar of the landing airplanes because of the airport nearby, not a very good night sleep.
On the positive side, the rooms are big, stylish and well designed. The breakfast buffet was really nice in terms of selection and quality. The front desk manager did what he could from a bad situation but the fact remains that the room was not ready before 6pm.

Room Tip: not on the marina side, it's noisy.

Dear 'Gillou G',
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments after your stay in our hotel.

We appreciate your positive remark regarding the rooms and the breakfast. Whilst I am pleased with the good comments, I truly value your feedback of areas where you have highlighted that we were short to meet your expectations. As mentioned, you discussed the situation with the Front Office Manager, but we would like to apologize once again for not being able to provide you with the efficient service you expect from us.

We regret to read about the inconveniences in your room. We hope this do not deter you from visiting our hotel in the near future, as we would like an opportunity to gain back your trust in our hotel.

Looking forward to your next visit.

Best Regards

Our stay in January 2014 was superb on all levels. We had two Club Suites which were large, comfortable, had excellent views of Dubai, very high standards of Housekeeping and exceeded our expectations. The staff on the Club Floor are very attentive. The food and beverage offering is the best I have ever experienced and was a highlight of the stay. The Hotel does offer an excellent choice of our Restaurants. The Hotel is located within the Festival City Shopping and Entertainment area allowing you to exercise even in the hottest weather. At cooler times of the year, a walk along the Creek is recommended.
It would be unkind to try and find fault in this hotel when all the staff try so hard to make it a home away from home.

Room Tip: Always book Club Floor room, the extra cost is completely offset by the superb experience.

After many stays in this elegant hotel esp. the services available in the Club Lounge in the 26. floor are highly recommendable. With a beautiful view to Burj Khalifa enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner is just great. The entire team in the Club Lounge makes each stay very comfortable.

If you are spending hundred's of business night a year or simply having a 'high expectation' vacation, ICDFC will not disappoint. Simple as that.

The property is a flagship Intercontinental property and deservedly so. It benefits from great design, great layout and first class motivated and energetic staff. The lifts to higher floors still manage to confuse me after a good few visit's but that's more down to me and age than the hotel.

Located close to the airport but suffering non of the downsides of being so, it's easy to get to and easy to get around from. Transportation services to and from the airport and indeed to other Emirates are excellent and reasonably priced. Pick the right room and your transport is included. Connection prices to Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi are not excessive and the fleet of Lexus cars are all well maintained and driven by guys who know where their way around.

Front door and desk services are first class as you might expect but also friendly and entertaining, not severe and Teutonic as can be the case at some places. The concierge guys are knowledgeable and genuinely well connected. They have organised many visits and events for us and organised a first class evening for us with my parents at Meydan Races last year. Again they go the extra mile (in my experience) rather than simply providing a town map with some 'Bic' circles on it. Kamal and his guys there are genuinely helpful and will take the time to sit, discuss and plan your time and choices. If you are really lucky you will get some Arabic coffee as well.

The hotel itself has a beautiful aspect onto the creek. I've heard some folks say it's a little disconnected but I disagree. Having been a regular to Dubai since 96 and having watched it grow along Sheikh Zayed road from a patchwork of stainless steel & glass high rises with big patches of sand in between to 'wall to wall 5 star' and Metro stops, I'd say ICDFC was perfect location wise and this will become even more the case as the phase 3 development takes hold. Although not benefiting from beach frontage it does have a good pool area that is well managed, quiet and relaxing.

The heath club is well equipped and run again by enthusiastic and helpful staff. The view is less engaging than some other Intercontinental locations but arguably less important to have a compromised view whilst sweating away on a Concept 2 rower than sitting in the Club Lounge. Talking of which.....

It's fair to say that I've spent way too much of my adult work life in Intercontinental Club Lounges (you could argue the merits of that) but the Club Lounge at ICDFC is first class. It's spacious, has super seating arrangements and views that you can spend an age looking at. It is beautifully finished and well equipped with wireless Mac's and printers and they are very easy to use. Can't say as I'd ever used a Mac before but I prefer not to travel littered with PC's and tablets and so the ones in the lounge are very usable and better than taking your own. If you do use your own the WIFI is good. On a similar note the Business Center on the first floor by the flower shop is also very well equipped with courteous and attentive folks on hand to support. But nice as the Business Center is, back the important stuff on the 26th!

Food offering's are great and the champagne and wine flows freely and is the perfect accompaniment to watching the sun go down over the creek. Staff there are great company and genuinely enjoy interaction and nothing is too much trouble. There's not one of the guys there who fails to make the effort. Some of you reading this and staying way too many nights away from home will be familiar with the spine snapping, straight faced service you can get in some places. Not so here where staff tick all the right boxes. Top marks need to go to Nass, Maryam, Dinesh, Diego, Emmy, Tashriek and Matios for having the highest service standards but also good humor and a warm spirit. A special extra thanks to Maryam for providing the inspiration for one of the most important business decisions I ever made! Emoji Food offerings throughout the day are always appealing, fresh and well presented and chef Gomes and his guys are again attentive and have super attention to detail.

Rooms are all good. Temperature control is flawless and beds excellent. It's also super quiet. Shower and bathroom design is good and housekeeping standards equally flawless. In room amenities are very good. Out of choice i'd say you would want a Creek side view but honestly speaking they are all good. The two bedroom suites are huge with bedrooms at opposite ends and a more than generous living area in the middle. Easily suitable for two couples or a family. The one bedroom suites are also very generous size wise and the Club room packages include the usual nice extras and touches. Worst criticism I can offer here is that the (very effective) blackout blinds have some very tiny damage here and there and that the odd headboard is a little bit scuffed here and there.....hardly show stopping stuff and there again I have OCD Emoji

The all day restaurant Ainse is spot on in every respect. Terra Firma, the indoor/outdoor steak house is excellent and definitely worth repeat visits. The outdoor seating area is particularly nice and their selection of specialist steaks is good .. the Austrailian Wagyu and the Tomahawk are great. Only niggle, the menu is very difficult to read in the outside light.....either a torch or some reading glasses or someone with better eyesight is useful. Mind you I struggle to read any menu not in 14 pitch font these days!

Think that's about it. It's a very well managed place and still as immaculate as when it opened back in 2008. The shine has not rubbed off not does it look likely to. Aside from work things I'm taking a very large family group out there from the UK for a family celebration later this year. I only hope they will let us back again afterwards!

Keep doing what you do.

Room Tip: Always Creek side for me but no bad rooms. Although lots of great places to eat in Dubai, you won...

This was my 3rd stay at Intercontinental Dubai Festival City. I stayed with my wife and mother-in law.
Although the stay and room were very good, some issues occurred during booking online, check in. I wanted to use my Ambassador free night certificate but was unable too (2nd year in a row that I've been unable to use it due to IHG rules, so really is a waste of paper. I instead only booked one night but for some reason, the room I booked was different to the one that was prepared for us. In the end we got the room I had booked.
Room was very good, clean and tidy and up to our expectations.
We were entitled to an Ambassador gift, which we didn't receive at all, even after filling out the card that we were asked to, asking what gift we wanted.
Ambassador check-in reception not clearly marked so was waiting at another counter for several minutes before being attended to.
