In terms of location the hotel is located near good shopping, chain entertainment and the airport. Directed connected to a mall with chain restaurants and some good shopping opportunities. Hard Rock is close by as well as are other restaurants and entertainment venues. The staff were friendly and prompt. The room was nicely decorated with modern bath room and nice decor. The hotel it self had several nice lounges and a restaurant. There is also a small store with sundries. A pretty value with convenient location.

After choosing the ICFC to hold an event for my company recently, myself and a number of colleagues stayed at the hotel, each of us requesting Executive rooms with Club Lounge access, giving us a) somewhere to work, b) access to somewhere private to have breakfast, snacks and refreshments and c) somewhere for us to relax after a week's worth of long working days and nights.

Check in was a long, troublesome experience, with my booking not being found for some time and when it was eventually identified, the wrong room package was given (without Club access, which I had to pay for separately) and I was given a room on the 9th floor, which turned out to be a smoking floor.

After a quick fresh spray, the room itself turned out to be very nice. It was regularly cleaned and the room staff were very efficient. No complaints there.

The pool area was very nice and the staff; while scarce, were mainly courteous and efficient.

What really annoyed me, was the lack of attention and the apathetic attitude from the staff in the Club Lounge.
Lounges are supposed to offer a personal, more premium service to the guest and neither one of us felt as though we got value for money here. The quality of the food in the lounge was also not great and with it not being open 24 hours, in a city that definitely does not sleep, it is a little short sighted.
Upon checking out, we also overheard another guest making the same complaint, so we are not the only ones who feel this way, it would seem.

The Lounge is also located on the same floor as a late night bar, which can be accessed after the Lounge shuts, but at a cost. Guests who have Club access should be able to use their privileges in this bar if they wish, or receive a discount, as the cost of drinks their were fairly steep.
However, this bar is clearly used as a pick up joint, with many obvious call girls in operation, which while I know this goes on regularly in Dubai, it did feel a little uncomfortable and it was somewhat unpleasant to be around, so we decided to leave and did not return for the rest of our stay.

My company spent an awful lot of money at the ICFC during this week and I felt as though we were mainly ignored by the staff and not given the kind of service one should expect from a 5 star hotel within the IHG portfolio.

I regularly travel to Dubai 4-5 times a year with my team, but next time, I will definitely revert back to The Address Downtown, where the level of customer service is second to none.
In a place like like Dubai, where the guest should be King due to the number of hotels vying for your business, the ICFC let us, but most importantly themselves down. They either need to bring themselves up to the standard set by many other hotels here, or simply reduce the guest's expectation by being honest about their rating and ability.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the creek, as the view at night is very nice.

From the minute we arrived until we finally had to leave, this was an outstanding experience. We were treated like royalty. Our booking included access to the Club Lounge and we were pampered throughout the day. Access to the Festival City Mall is from the foyer, so shopping and browsing is literally at the doorstep. A truly great experience.

This hotel is conveniently located in Festival city, allowing shopping and a great location with an affordable short taxi ride to the city, there was never a problem catching a taxi and if you wanted to go in a bit more style you could always take a Lexus. Our room was simply stunning, great value for money. The TV wasn't working when we got there, but they fixed it very quickly. The pool area could have been a bit bigger. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices and great service.

The service at the hotel is second to none. From check in thru dining, room service, maid service, finiteness center, poolside, and so on, all the way to check out, the staff was extremely attentive to all needs. The entire facility is very clean. Food choices are widely varied and all very good. The location at Festival City is great with lots to do yet still easy access to the city and airport. Definitely a great place to stay!

Room Tip: Room facing the city provide for beautiful sunsets.

This is one of my regular hotels in UAE , and which I also consider as one of the best intercontinental hotels globally.
The long awaited refurbishment at the lobby with a new Patisserie lounge is aesthetically and soberly done. The club lounge and its services are excellent as usual, I would say Dubai and Singapore Intercontinentals have the best Executive club lounges in terms of warmth and hospitality of staff and of course they can easily spoil you with food and drinks made available in the lounge , round the clock. They are simply very good.
This time I stayed only three days and two nights, however the stay as usual was so comfy and relaxing..

Room Tip: Either sides of the hotel is exposed to very good views of the creek and canals.

Stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend in May. Overall, I very much enjoyed my stay, however, I felt as though some of the softer touches / refinements expected of an InterConti were missing.

Good:
- Food & Beverage offering - lots of choices when it comes to places to eat. I tried the steak restaurant and that was very good - great food and good service. I also used room service, and that was always speedy & friendly. I noticed that the main restaurant (whatever it's called) has a pizza oven, so that might be a good option if you want simple pasta / pizza and avoid the Dubai over-indulgence.
- Rooms - I had a lovely room with a water view. The bathroom was huge and spotless, although the bathroom had a musty / drains smell - nothing too bad but I wasn't expecting that. The living area in my room had a smoke smell - I'm not normally overly-sensitive to smell, but this was very strong. The bed was up to usual InterContinental standards and was very comfortable! I also really liked the Bose music player allowing you to link your iPhone etc to it via Bluetooth.
- The staff were generally great. Particularly, I had an issue with some laundry not having been collected - when I got back to my room, housekeeping wee still servicing the room, but they took responsibility straight away and went out of their way to contact the relevant person - and were very polite and friendly. The ladies on the Club lounge reception were friendly and very efficient. So those are positives.

So, why three stars?

This equates to "average". It was, for a five star property, not quite up to scratch:

- smells in bathroom and lounge mentioned above.

- check in was very slow and a little chaotic! I arrived quite late and the person checking me in didn't seen familiar with the computer system. The person showing me to my room wasn't fluent in English and was clearly after a tip by pointing everything in the room out. As a business traveller and a regular IC guest, I know how things work! True five star service is about offering a bespoke service, not a one size fits all approach - so rigidly following procedure and pointing everything out at midnight when I've already said I've just stepped off a long flight is not the best policy!
- Mix up with laundry - resolved well but shouldn't have happened.
- Club lounge service - I was totally ignored by the waiting staff for about an hour and not offered a drink. I didn't realise that afternoon tea was on because I hadn't been given a list of the times when they serve what and nobody offered. This was annoying.

Overall, a good hotel in a quiet location (nice in Dubai!) and very homely feel!

Let down by the minor details - iron those out and the hotel / stay would have been 5 star.
