The Village Inn is a small family restaurant that serves basic American cuisine at a reasonable price.
My wife and I both had steak fajitas, which came with unlimited trips to the salad bar, for $8.49 each, a very reasonable price.
The wait staff was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was very casual.
The salad bar had all of the normal salad fixings in addition to potato salad, macaroni salad and cole slaw. The fajita meat, onion as and peppers were served sizzling on separate metal plates and the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and shells were on separate plates along with salsa and sour cream.
The meat was cooked well, as were the vegetables.
For dessert, we decided on take-outs. My wife got a slice of chocolate cake and I indulged in strawberry shortcake.
The cake slice was very good, but the cake itself was a little dry.
The strawberry shortcake was unrecognizable because it was basically a couple of scoops of shortcake crammed into a clear pint container, looking more like a chopped serving than a slice. It too, was a bit dry.
